Lol, u guys think u got it bad, Master Droid Engineer here,
We "supposedly" got some love last week, not love, a nightmare
1 Try answering the 10 thousand tells on patch day (and every day after that (sorry for over-exaggerating)) but u get my point, i want the most uber fed "roger-roger" droid u can make dude, ill pay BIIG credz for it...then I hav to say "sorry dude, cant make those", then the retort "but it shows them in the picture, so they must be in the game, man u must be the worst DE in game if u cant make those"... what is this crap....haha
2 Then there is the obligatory "can u make me the most Ub3r R3 Droid (at least they not askin for Droideka) with 6x100% combat modules for 2k?" then i say, "um no, it will be about 150k thanks" then the retort, "man u r such a rip off, my friends mothers dogs brothers sisters husbands pet kitten can make droids, and he sells them real cheap, ill get one off him"...haha, i dont wanna sell to n00bs anyways so thats fine...
3 using your profession as an example, and rocket launcher as a further example, from what I've seen of it, there are maybe about 7 components, with some subcomponents im sure too, thats fine, and u guys charge a heap for it and i gladly paid it when i was commando...now, just because DEs hav been charging small because droids did not have much use does not mean we have to continue to...over 30 components, most with sub components, just to make a combat droid...so i say screw the n00bs, ill charge what I want to...haha
And yes, I have even had a couple Master WS say the first 2examplesto me...
Sorry bout the rant, but it was a rant thread anyways, and I saw it lookin for components etc for DXR6 Rifle (so i ddnt hav to ask stupid questions to a Master WS :smileyvery-happy
.
Let the flaming and "one starring" begin, I know it will...
"Hey there Mr. Master WS dude, one of my really good mates has this CDEF Pistol with a flame DOT, he says that he can pwn a bantha with it, man I want one, please use the best of everything to make it, ill give you 50k...so how bout it Mr. Master WS Dude?"........HAHAHAAHA
you have been putting up with it for a week. some of us have been doin it since launch.
When I first mastered WS, Iknew the MWS tag was an invite to tell hell. So I just put up swordsmith figuring most people wouldn't figure it out and the ones that did would be relatively sharp. It worked pretty well for a couple of weeks. Then one day I'm running missions on Tat trying to bring up my Jabba faction and some guy asks me if I can make a sword for him. I tell him I have a shop not far away. He wants stats on my swords, but hell, I have trouble remembering telephone numbers. So he asks if I can make one like his. I take one look and realize it's beyond me. Check a price list from another WS to look at the damage on hers because we track pretty closely. It's a good 40 points beyond that. I tell him I can't touch that. As he's walking away he says "oh, by the way, it's sliced" #%#^%. If I'd known that from the beginning...
Next day I'm doing the rebel theme park and a guy asks me if I can make him a sword. I'm thinking, like I'm supposed to carry enough resources and components to make any weapon on demand. So I basically blow him off and change my tag to merchant. Now all I get is tells from people wanting me to train them.
But one day I was loading the vendor and a guy walks in to take a look. He's pretty knowledgable and asks some fair questions. I don't remember what tag he was wearing, but it was something like novice homemaker. So I start to rib him about it. He tells me he's a master commando and he quit wearing the tag because everyone wanted to take him on to see if they could beat the tough guy. I guess we all have our moments.

I think most players don't understand why I'm making such a silly request. I tried to get emails for orders as well. It works occasionally, but not enough. So, I started sending emails to myself, but then I began to forget to put the persons name in the email with the order so I would have this order and have no clue who it belonged to.
As for carrying resources on me...I actually do that. I have 5 droids that have subcomponents and 3 backpacks full of resources needed in the final combine. I do it so that I can craft for people who I am hunting with. But, if someone comes up to me and asks me to build a weapon for them right now, I tell them I can build the weapon now for triple my normal price and it might not be as good as my normal weapon or I can put them in my order queue and it will be done in a couple days. I have actually had a couple people pay the 3x price. At that point it is worth it to me.

Thank the Lord I am not alone! I have been a MWS on Radiant for well over 6 months and am closing in on ten digits in profits from my weapons and armor. I am the highest priced WS on my server and my stats across the board are for the most part, unbeatable. I don't hestiate to mention this on the forum because I have found that any press is good press.
/tell noober, "damn right, homo."
noober tells you, "man everything everybody says about you is true."

ummmmm were all weaponsmiths in here, you dont have to brag about how 1337 you are. most of the people reading this forum know what its like to be financially healthy, do you know how rude it is to brag about such things? very low class. your obviously new money.
i was enjoying this thread until i read your post, now i actually feel dumber for having read it, i want my time back.
on a lighternote-
1. i too have gotten the tells about making armor and i just dont get it, there is my vendor Sliced Guns by Monroeand my other one Unsliced Guns by Monroe (i wish i had the foresight to name it weapons instead of guns because i have to remind myself that customers asking for mele weapons is probably my fault in this case), and then next to my vendors is Sliced Armor by Rorrak (now retired btw) and i still get tells asking me for armor! i just dont get it, the person has to type in
/tell monroe i need composite sliced over 85%
and i just have to wonder- what happened between the eyes, brain, and hands that changed Armor by Rorrak and Sliced Guns by Monroe into "Armor and Sliced Guns by Monroe"! i just dont get it! i cant wait to steal a line from this thread and tell them "yeah i can, but it looks just like bone armor and cost a whole lot"
2. my best way to shake customers is to just turn on afk message that says 'NO'
DaTruPCKillah- "Do you make guns?"
Me- AFK Autoresponse- NO
but you would be supprised how many ask another question after that, still entertains me
3. and the customers that think they know what its like to be a weaponsmith
ShotDaBaby- "hey you make the best t21 on the server now, make me a t21 with imporved power cells, imperial rifle barrel, scope, and improved trigger mechanism" (please notice they didnt ask me to make them a weapon, it was not a request)
Me- OK i dont usually take special orders since i craft on my schedule and most people dont like waiting a week or two for a weapon so i charge alot to make sure the customer understands this. (notice i shrug off the power cells and trigger mech stuff, this will become important later)
ShotDaBaby- "i need it now, what will it cost?" (this is when i think.... my jedi could always use another set of composite but before i could respond) "how about 1.5 million cr for the gun?"
Me- OK, im at my workshop on dantooine in NOVAENT city, let me know when you get here.
i walk 30m to my left and open one of the factories, remove the 4 crates of t21s and pull one out, slice it and wait for idiotbox to arive.
Me- just as you ordered, enjoy
he puts the money in the trade window, accept and im 1.5M cr richer for unpacking a crate early! also sold him a dxr6 carbine too for the same price. want to know the topper?
ShotDaBaby- "great now just to take on the warren. want to make 250k?"
Me- "depends"
ShotDaBaby- " complete the warren with me, ill give you 250k afterwards"
Me- thank you, no. (hes an ebayer obviously, dont get him mad and hell send more duped ebay credits my way later on, my jedi habbit dominates my WS day to day)
morral of the story- see what the morons want, just agree to some of the stupid stuff, sometimes you get a good story out of it and a couple sets of composite to boot!
4. my other story that i cant help but tell involves my jedi this time, a BH found me hunting on endor (only 1.5km from the outpost, i know, stupid mistake, but i was jsut starting) and three incaped me as a 4-1-0-1 initiate. big man there. he would spam kd/dizzy to keep me off the swoop and then eyeshot to wear away the mind then watch me incapped and yell, "give him a reason to let you live!". this is when he made my jedi's ignore list, anyhow, everytime i was about to get up he would run 30m away, rinse and repeat. so he whaled on a character weaker than a novice brawler by kiting and yelling with pimply faced rage, great job budy.
i was in coronet a few weeks later trying to track down some ore i failed to harvest when this very same BH comes up to me and asks if i can repair his weapon. i think to myself, "he cant know he killed my jedi, lets have fun" so i accept his offer, he trades me the weapon, i pull out some iron and craft a quick repair kit (at this point you should note that i carry a crate of 99.89% tools with me but no way in hell was i going to use that on his jedi hunting weapon). this iron repair kit has an effectiveness somewhere in the twenties, so great, exactly what i wanted.
i use the junk repair kit on this kraytscatter and much to my pleasure- IT COMPLETELY FALLS APPART! awwwww poor BH, traded it back to him and said, "sorry, heres the wp to my shop if you ever need anything".
he may have caused my jedi to have a tracked death for a week but i got the final word

It's a good theory Aubru? But here's the problem with it as a weaponsmith. About 60% of customers don't really know WHAT they want. And if I tried having /tell conversations with them all I'd get even more swamped then I currently am. So unless it's something I'm going to do right on the spot? It's e-mail, or bust.
Oh no the best question of utter idiotic questions is this.
c your a master weaponsmith right?
me yes I am a master weaponsmith what can i help you with.
c can you make me a basic camp kit. (okay i had to bite on this one)
me are you a scout?
c No do i need to be a scout.
me yeah its a good idea how many skill points do you have?
c 200
me go get trained in scout then you can use camp kits.
c how much does training cost
me five hundred credits.
c i am broke can you lend me some money ( i had to bite again)
me what profession are you right now? (this is the king of the dumbest combinations I have ever heard.)
c dancer and oh scout (not only is this an asanine combination but it begs the question who has this little an understanding of their professions)
me okay here is what you do go kill some animals harvest the hide and bone get a generic crafting tool. First check your inventory ctrl I MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE ONE. and with hide bone and that tool you can make your own camps.
c everything kills me when i fight it.
me what have you been fighting
c womprats and rills.
me even a novice scout can kill those use your pistol at long range and run alot you wont get hit as much. If you use burstrun they will hardly hit you.
c i do not have a pistol
me yes you do its in your inventory you need to go re equip it since you obviously un equiped it earlier.
c i sold that gun someone told me it was no good
me how much did you sell it for
c 10 credits on the bizarre (at this point i started to feal my head slowly start to rotate.)
me okay here is what you have to do go find a big stick. They usually grow on trees rip it off if it is too hard to rip it off find another. Better yet find a rock reach down and wrap your hand around it. Pick it up and start smacking it into your skull as hard as possible until the world grows black. Now you will have an excuse for being so retarded. Either you are truely this idiotic or a complete a hole for makeing me wast five minutes of my life trying to help someone that sounded like a noob.
c hey give me a break i have only been playing this game for five days.
me find ignore list and put this guy on it.
