Months before, Holo stated that if somethingis craftable ingame, master profession always make it better. The rare drop of uber enchancer like Krayt Tissue make me think DEV done a good job in the time sink and player ecomonmy.

But after a while, uber weapon drop being more and more popular. It's no doubt it may happen in Day 1 but most of us just didn't aware. But you could imagine no matter how rare it would be, the word would spread out and just induce more and more people camping there. And the so-called "Master" quality weapons just be likestandard weapon selling by NPC vendor in other games.

The harm to us right now is not huge yet as all galaxies community are very newly developedindeed.

If you check, you could find "WTS" or "Auction" thread for special drop weapon start showing in forums now whichis less than 4 monthfrom server start. Maybe in another 6 months times, weapons made by us is just like the meon to beginner.

Last time i checked weaponsmiths had no problems selling their crafted goods in...like 5 seconds after they put it on a vendor.
So the current droprate seems quite reasonable.

One time loot-schematics would be cool too. Probably superior fun. Combine very good base stats with a look that isn't available with normal schematics and all's good.

/agree

if crafted weapons are not the best, it hurts the entire profession. It also starts the beginning of other dropped uber-weapons creeping into the game. VERY bad idea.

If these weapons are truly extremely rare, than I say great. It gives something for PvEers to go after. There needs to be rare powerful loot in the game to make things interesting. I really don't think the devs would let things get so out of hand as to break the entire weaponsmith economy. The key is that they must be kept extremely rare.

tungsten, the biggest problem with these weapons is they are way over powered for pvp and pve

Did you see the stats on the vibro axe that was looted, look that thread up and tell me these weapons need to be in the game.A person with a weapon like that can hit a monster or a person once then just sprint away and watch them die from the dot.

All the current changes going into the game are for "balance" supposedly, yeah right, they nerf skills to hell but thenthey put in weapons that are godly? It just doesn't make sense.

Money is not the key issue. That is, money is not the key issue. By the way, money is not the key issue. Did I mention money is not the key issue?

I for one, and am sure a lot of others in our field feel also, that we don't care about making fake money and amassing a virtual fortune. If you open your inventory and spasm in joy having a look at your bank account, consider dropping this profession and going full combat, and run a resource operation on the side. You'll make far more money with less effort, and have fun doing it. For those who think weaponsmiths are all money making machines, you are incorrect. For those who say the instant we list an item it sells. Incorrect. For those who think this is what matters most to us, i-n-c-o-r-r-e-c-t. Money keeps my harvesters going, vendors going, factories going, house going. And maybe buy a nicenew hathere and there. I don't derive some strange pleasure at counting the integers in my bank balance - but hey, if you like that, then power toyou!

This was meant to be a player driven economy. I loved the idea that the best things in the game were always player made. Will these remain rare? I don't think so. I hope they do, but who in their right mind holds onto faith right now? They lied about keeping player made stuff the best in the game, why on earth should we believe the drop rate will be controlled? How many other little white lies are there floating around?

Crafters will be turned into NPC vendors. You know, like in Everquest (as much as I hate to talk about it), where the NPCs do sell items, if you want to stand a chance out there you'll have to go loot items. This is not what crafting was promoted to be. I am dead certain if they advertised it as "New player driven economy! All items can be player made, but note that they will totally suck - and yes, we do mean TOTALLY suck against looted items - flock to the player driven economy! What a novel idea!" that I would have skipped this outright and saved myself time and effort.

In case you missed it folks, money is not the issue. How many people here are saying "Oh no, we can no longer reap obscene profits"? Hrmmmm?

Rock on bro! I have met a few guys like you on Bloodfin. I am a materweaponsmith and don't care one way or the other about uberweapons. I have yet to see one and i've been playing since day one. I try to repair any gun given me and if I fail I don't charge. Personally I make more running missions than selling weapons. But I enjoy making my guns and interacting with people while selling them. I have 2 ATST's and sniping 2/pistol4 so I hunt too. The only "rare" item I have found is a holocron (and I havent decided yet if I'm gonna use it)

keep that attitude and just play the game. Maybe I'll see ya around.....Bobb Deadmeat (Bloodfin)

And just in case, My above was meant for Ypiana...sorry yer on a different server. BTW i made more money in2 weeks of running Faction missions (over 1 mil) than I have selling weapons. Thats every weapon Ive sold combined! Plus I got a holocron. Crfating is great and I enjoy selling my wares. But I also enjoy killing the Mobs and seeing what drops. I have yet to see an Uberweapon and would still attempt to fix it if asked. Cheating or lying to customers is not a good way to do business. Yes I have failed, but I return there 0/0 condition, 0-0-0dmg POC to them...then they say Darnnnn!that stinks. And I dont charge them. I built my clientell by being honest and hopefully cool with my customers. I don't spam and answer every tell personally. In fact I have one customer that asked that any T21 I make he wants. Period! That means I never even have to look for someone to sellthem too. All I know is maybe when I'm hunting I'll find one of these Uberweapons. I'll use it, repair it, and after a couple repairs it will be dust. Just like any other weapon. Thanks for listening.

I'll sign wholeheartedly. I'm not a weaponsmith, nor will i ever be one. I'm a smuggler and am working my way up the droid eng trees. So these uber drops aren't hurting me now, but they will soon enough.

"There needs to be uber loot or hunting and fighting is boring" What a load of BS. THERE HAVE BEEN UBER DROPS that allow for more powerful weapons since day one. Take it to a smith and have your uber weapons made. I don't care if it's 1 in 50,000 drops or not, that is 1 lie from the devs every 50,000 times you loot something.

I'm undecided here.

On the one hand, I see the "plight" of the Weaponsmith. On the other, the "plight" of the Combat guy.

Weaponsmiths feel threatened, rightly so, but I'm skeptical as to how threatening these "uber drops" really are. I'm pretty sure the Tusken Rifle is a fake...I haven't really seen confirmation on any of these weapons. I've heard of Exceptional and Legendary items, but they're just "different", not really "uber". Anyhow, whether my skepticism is correct or not, I think the point remains that not enough of these weapons are dropping to make them the "standard". These weapons won't last more than a week or two, and if they do, it's because the guy who has it is probably using a crafted weapon. So, I don't feel that the Weaponsmith market is really going to get hit that badly, if at all.

I think I favor uber loot for now. I beleive it is rather pointless to go out and kill stuff after you've mastered your professions. Some nice loot would make it rather worthwhile.

I'm going to sit back and see what exactly comes of this. Then I'll have a better understanding of what I'd like to support, or not support.

if the drops are rare, like one a day for each server then it won't be a problem, but didn't someone just post that their pa found 3 in one night this weekend?

If you take holocrons for an example as a rare loot drop, then these guns are not going to be that rare. Krayt tissues were considered rare drops up until a few weeks ago, now i see people with 30 to 50 of them all the time.

My biggest issue with these weapons is they make a player into a pvp god. Maybe you guys don't do any PvP but i have a second combat account and believe me, it sucks getting killed in one hit, which is what will happen with these legendary weapons if they land one special on you.

Just the other day I saw a guy running around with a pistol with a strong mind poison on it. When I asked him what it was he said it was a dropped item and that it RULED. This is a serious threat to the game. Heck there are a lot of crafter made items that aren't even working yet (Republic Blaster for Example) while uber drop weapons are being added. At least Kryat Dragon encancements still require a crafter. This is a much better idea for "uber" items. I left EQ because it was a drop item fashion show and I would hate to see this game degenerate to that.

Perhaps a better way to encourage combat classes is to add more player factions and actual story content to the game that requires team combat and I dont call the Commando/Creature Handler/Squad Leader with three ST's as a group.
