Ive descrived a process that would allow you slice above cap already.

For damage it will only work on weapons that have elemental damage.

Create a PuP thats boost elemental damage BUT create it so its really ineffecient so that the min-max damage will be dragged down - Say 30%

Put PuP on weapon. Damage slice it. It will slice the damage using the PuP min-max values. Remove PuP and it will put the damage min-max damage back up by 30%. If the weapon was damage capped it will basically give you 8% above cap.

This would need to have been done prior to the recent release as you cant slice with PuPs anymore.

The thing I cant get my head around, is that the weapon was sliced at 4% and 4% wont give it that type of damage. I also really suspecious on the very high min damage. I cannot think of anyway to craft and slice a weapon with that high min damage.

What ive described above will enable you to slice above cap. Unless someone corrects me, I cant see how you can craft and slice a HLR with that high min damage.... I could be wrong, please correct me.

I have a suspicion. I keep an E-11mk2 on my WS to test powerups as I craft them. Last week I noticed an interesting bug in that I could remove a powerup and yet have the weapon retain the stats for several minutes, in fact, at times I could drop and pick up the weapon and it still would show the powered up stats.

Im not a slicer, so can't test this. I wonder what would happen slicing a weapon with powerup removed yet still showing the powered up stats. This would account for both the damage AND the extreme slowness of the weapon in question if a damage powerup was used.

Good theory, and you may be on to something. If this is how it happened, it also begs the question... is it merely a display bug on the stats? The stats update slowly onscreen, but is that because of a lower query rate for the stats of a particular item (So the stats in the system are correct, but the displayed stats are incorrect)? If so,the cap wouldn't actually be broken at all, only bugged stats being displayed. Was the rifle in question tested, and did it actually deliver the damage accordingly?

Whoever this is Please Grow up or at least put some thought into your posts. Your acting like a 12 Year old or maybe even younger. Also if your new to the profession then what makes you think you are soooo much smarter then th vet Weaponsmiths? also you should not give the weaponsmith props for crafting this unless of course there was no cap on the weapon, he didnt even craft the high dmg he just got it to 1100 max dmg which is very possible and had a bug happen to his gun.

The thing the Weaponsmith should have NOT done is publicize his Weapon and basicly blackmail people with the weapon without expecting Repercussions. I mean if you put that weapon in your shop or hold it agianst someone to get free BH components thats not right. With the weapon in your shop you should have thought or known better that some other weaponsmiths would have Known.

i neversaid i was smarter that other ws. im just trying to point out that your all butthurt cause you cant figure out how this was done.the only reason your mad is cause this didnt happen to you. its not like the guy was trying to break cap . it was one of those rare flukes, yourjust scared of being put out of business. i say if you can craft weapons thatexceedsthe capdoit, its your right untill soe fixes it. and to the 12 year old remark look whos talking he got 2 scoops and you got 1 dont cry grow up its only a game

This is incorrect and against the EULA you and the crafter signed when you started playing the game, and that you accept everytime you play before you access the servers. This thread has been submitted to the dev team for the reason of exploring the causes of such a weapon, and it's authenticity. If you, the crafter, or anyone elsecontinues to try and exploit the methood that created such an item you could be banned for your actions the same as those who worked in all the other exploits, such as the Credit Dupe, Double Slice, and Non-Serialed loot.

I recommend you and whoever else knows about this turn over all results and information obtained in creating weapons that break caps tot he Dev team through the /bug command in game and do not spread the knowledge of such a bug to others. And don't forget, there is coding on the way that will reset this weapon to normal caps. Any weapons created beyond their caps will be reduced immediately upon your logging in to the server.

how is this not exploited? first off, even if YOU COULD dmg slice something thats already capped, a 4% dmg slice to a 1150 capped HLC is 1196 max dmg. This does not make since. Did the crafter get a critical assembly?

Makes no difference if they did drop above 185, it wouldnt have got you to that damage, crafting cap would have come in.

On the subject of how this might ahve been sliced with such high damage. Yes at one point you coudl slice with a PUP on. And what I think happened. Was it was sliced with a damage pup being on it. Now. Almost every cause that ment that the weapon damage actually -dropped- below the orrigional damage type when the pup was removed or ran out of uses. But slicing with pups on created alot of wierd results. Some times it woudl work properly and cap out (in the manner they do now where you have to remove the pup before you can slice a weapon). So it's concievable that this was a rare case where insted of lowering max damage it actually increased the damage range and actually managed to stay that way once the pup was removed.

Purely conjecture at this point. Like most of all this but its still plausible given the way bugs like this tend to work.

I read it. And obviously my point was missed. Your wondering how the damge might go over. And I just said it may have been a standard damage pup. Instead of an elemental pup. I noticed some really odd effects on soem pup weapons I'd sliced now and then back when it let you. I'd been rather use to it just nuking the pup on the weapon when slicing on it's own. (where as now you manually have to take it off) and unless i"m mistaken after unpupping a few of the weapons went up in damage rather than down drastically like most do. Though these were all non capped weapons. It should still hold true int hat case that it could concieably have pushed them over the cap. Had said crappy grinding weapons been damage capped. Most seemed (for me at least) to just after pup removal. Have the proper damage levely they should have had from an 8 percent slice before they were puped. I'd orrigionally come across it myself by accident and then oticed posts. mucked about with it for abit to see if the stuff on the smug boards what true. And course it was. (But you can never trust a smuggler )

Certainly if it's doing it with one pup type it coudl well have started doing it with another. I also know it's not due to an elemental damage pup since. Well.. quite frankly I've only ever used damage pups myself. And the rare speed pup. But almost allways damage pups on my grinding weapons. Since they also tend to be high sac. (Just cheaply made ones tend to do sinceI burn them out rather quickly and without a care in the world. Dont even bother trying to repair them)

Anyway long as it's something he cant replicate at will. I wouldnt worry -too- much about it myself. But then. I'm from Bria. Where before the CU. It was the land of exploited weapons.

1) Stop calling exploit.
2) We're playing SWG, theres a very very good chance that its one nice bug (isnt it always?)
3) Let the Devs handle this, they know much more bout the game, can access the logs about the game and basically can change the game. Can you?

Actually if you read one of previous posts on the PuP subject I have explained already how this could have been done.

The PuP required is a Elemental increase PuP which lowers yours normal damage. Hence once applied, the damage will be lowered, slice , then remove PuP. But this technic is really only good at getting you beyond cap. The strange thing is the min damage is so high too. Its like a double slice.

This could only have been done when slicing with pups was allowed.

Also, this wont work on Power Hammers that dont have elemental damage as you cant apply PuP and indication is that Power Hammers been produced with strange results too.

Well i would personally stpo calling it an exploit but hes kinda made a second weapon with the same kind of results EVEN AFTER POSTING HERE HE WILL NEVER DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT AGAIN?!? and a Bug is an exploit. The defination of Exploit for SWG is a =A bug that is used by a player more then once knowing full well what hes doing is wrong and he should be reporting it
