Thread: MACRO: EASE THE GRIND
This is just awesome!! Great work.
I now have 6 crafting tools... I have them on F1 - F6.... F7 has macro.
I have a looping macro that goes to each Funtion key... runs macro.. and then restarts macro by hitting F7 key at the end...
Someone has to figure out how to practice. There has to be a command for practice..... I have tried every combination that I could think of for a named function... but to no avail.
I am running the Beta3 version atm and am able to use this macro np. Some of the posters are finding it hard to figure out which schematic to use. If you are using a specific crafting tool ie a food/chem for me then it only counts the food/chem schematics. I am grinding on one of my lasters schematics which should be number 110 if I count them out but it responds to schematic 33. So you may want to keep that in mind
Hope that helps a bit.
Thanks for posting this btw it is way faster ![]()
The best way to do this by far is to just use:
/ui action toolbarSlotXX;
/selectdraftschematic xx
Setup 5 of these macros on F1-F5, then 5 crafting tools on F6-F10 and have the macros correspond to these slots.
Until the ingame macro can allow you to practice, which I figure will be awhile since "practice" was added after release and realistically there is probably not a macro command for it, this is the fastest way.
#1) you don't have to take the time to delete items. That is time lost and must be figured in.
#2) you get %5 bonus for practicing. If you were to grind the whole weaponsmithing tree this adds up to around 45,000 xp total.
How will hitting Enter keys 3 times finish crafing from the assemble screen? My enter keys are bound to EQ style so they are bound to star chat command. I can't figure out what's the action to advance to the next crafting stage. What key do you rebind?
Yes DixFlatline
I have exactly the same problem you described and am also a Beta 3 tester with no way to uninstall application.
this is something that has occured to me. Has anyone tried /createpractice or something similiar for the last one?
George
Here's a slight rearrangement based on the same macro that I found off a guide somewhere on these boards.
/nextCraftingStage
/nextCraftingStage
/createPrototype
/createPrototype
/pause 2
/ui action toolbarSlotXX
/selectdraftschematic X; (where X should be the number of the data schematic you want to create.)
I set about 5 of these macros up on the toolbar for projectile barrels. The difference between this version and the one that Irundil posted is that this macro ends on the resource selection screen. This gives you all the time you need to drop resources in. When you're finished stat up the next macro and it will finish this item and start another, etc.If you are fast you can whip them in there quick w/o waiting for the pause time, if you have a more complex item that takes more resources you don't need to worry about changing the pause time either.
I am able to get all of this to work... except for the /nextCraftingStage command.
It apparently recognizes the command as being valid, because I don't get an error back (like I do if I type in /nextCraftStage). It just doesn't do anything. And if I use it while I'm on the screen where you assign resources, if I click on the "assemble" button afterwards, then it tells me that the schematic isn't complete and I need to finish assigning resources.
Anybody else having this problem? Solved this problem maybe?
Is there a command you can put in a macro to simulate hitting the enter key?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
I'an
actually admiral, Its faster to do the /createPrototype and delete than it is to hit enter on practice. As someone who has gone through 36k units of steel making rifle barrels in just a couple of hours I am one to know. Those /nextcraftingstage and /createprototypes are very fast compared to the screen that is waiting on the results of your assembly. Deleting items is so fast its not funny. You pick the top most left item and keep your mouse there, then hit the right mouse button, hit 3 for delete (2 if outside) and hit enter. I can delete all 50 barrels from my inventory long before you even craft the 50 using the practice mode. It really depends on what is more important to you. I personally preferr to get through it as fast as possible so I can go do other stuff like missions or survey, do the harvester run etc. All crafting and no killing makes jack a dull boy ![]()
You're not the only one Ian, I have exactly the same problem you've described.
Are you a Beta 3 tested who didn't delete and completely re-install SWG? Someone mentioned that earlier so tonight I was planning to do just that before I try again.
As you said, if you use either the /next or /nextCraftingStage, it doens't work and stops you from being able to even manually select next. You are forced to go back and re-select the schematic. As other people are managing to get this command to work, I'm assuming that people like me or you have a problem for a specific client side bug.
I'll post the results of my application rebuild tonight....

I'm in the same boat DeeJay. I will be very interested to see the results of your re-install. I played with this some more last night trying to lock down the problem and it was just like Ian described. If the re-install, doesn't work, I will try putting the macro in an alias file instead of entering it on the macro editor to see if that makes a difference. I alsowant to try it away from my private crafting station to see if that helps. It also may be one of the option settings is interfering somehow, so I may need to play with those. The interface is complex, so it may take a while to figure out. We just gotta keep trying combinations until something works I guess. Hey SOE, gimme the source code and I'll debug this for ya for free! Yeah, right! ![]()
No joy I'm afraid.
I did a complete re-install and patch last night. /next and /nextCraftingStage both corrupt the current schematic selection so you have to go back and reselect to even be able manually complete the construction.
Can anyone else confirm that they can still use these commands?
