Thread: Anti decay kit does any one else worry...

what is to stop people from using the kit on a good damsliced powerhammer untill they find somethng better, then destroy the weapon apply to the next weapon and so forth untill they cannot improve upon the weapon any further. Atm a swordsman with a few hours of gametime every day will go thru a ph a week, which means at least one return to my store a week... with the kit he will only have to return when he has looted better bones....

I haven't looked into the anti-decay kit too much, but can the weapons be traded? If so, what's to stop guilds rotating the weapon between whatever player is online at a certain time? If they can't be dropped in a guild hall or traded it's a moot point, but it's just a thought.
And if they can be removed by destroying the weapon this really is a disastrously bad addition to the game.

they can be traded and yyou can get the kit back by destroying the weapon as far as ive understood from devs and people on testcenter. Havent tried it myself thou.

My only worry is finding someone willing to be a weaponsith after this goes down.

That is what these rewards mean. Worry? more like outrage!
No way under any circumstances should weapons have unlimited uses, and also old resources should not allow to be duped.

yup, this is a totally f****d item. I had a special order from a few days ago, krayt tenloss, high damage yellows and near +100 tissue. First thing mentioned when he came to get it was...i am drooping my anti-decay on it. Of all the things i have seen in the last year this is the most retarded

One of these went for a 5 million buy-out on the Corbantis trade forum. Imo the seller let it go WAY too cheap.

This is why this stupid anti-decay kit was such a dumb idea. No, this picture isn't fake, it's a well knownweapon on Infinity and will now become even better known,due to the fact it can be used constantly, and no doubt will be by the guildees of the owner.

That is sick. Anyone know if the poison on that hammer also does not decay?
In any case, the devs already said those exceptional weapons will get nurfed, but they will still be the best after the curb, just not THAT much better than a non uber weapon.
These kits should never have been tradable simply because non-combat people will sell theirs, and all the people who play combat will buy them all up and have a kit for just about every weapon they would ever want to use.

as far as ive understood the poison uses will drop even with the kit on... still.. worst idea ever

Therer is no way that they will allow the use of the kits on weapons for very long because it is ridiculous the damage it would do combat balance and the weaponsmith economy.
It was supposed to be for decay at death not decay during use. Player weapons already don't decay when you die isn't that enough? Keep these things away from weapons. If used on armor, the armor should still lose hit points when hit too, just not decay at death.

The description on the kit specifically says that it eliminates decay on both death and use.

Sounds terrible if your a weaponsmith but just think. If you spent your well earned riches on an exceptional T-21 or power hammer, would u want it to decay? Something you paid 50mil + for? I can see people useing on lootmade weapons which does kill your sales. But there arent a ton of these kits going around per server...atleast I wouldnt imagine. And they are selling for a good deal of cash. Maybe if your so worried, all the weaponsmiths on every server should just buy them all up? Not like you dont have enough money as compared to other crafting proffessions....
