Thread: Resources soon to all be the same:(

Even as a new upcoming smith I wouldnt want this. If you're here for the money then well good luck to you, if you're here liike 90% of the long-time weaponsmiths for a challenge, then this pretty much changes the goal from being the bulls-eye to just hitting the dart board. No longer do you strive for perfection you just strive for 91%. What fun is that?
Exactly.
I just wish more people would understand this is the main issue with this change.
I don't want to know that I will never be able to better a weapon - I enjoy (sad as it sounds) surveying and hunting round for better resources and I enjoy comparing my wares with others and striving to make mine better.

Well this is what the Dancer Correspondent said...
"As a crafter and a dancer, I would like to see them go in and then adjusted depending upon how they actually effect play on Live rather than based upon player speculation."
I just hope that kind of "logic" doesn't get passed on to the Devs.
then a few posts later they said the devs would never allow another crafters day like we had before.
yet thats exactly what they are proposing...
I have crafted in other professions before namely Doctor before the CU. When I was a noob doc breaking in the business needless to say my buffs couldn't get you past a Nuna on a good day. But I hung in there and took the time to gradually obtain the resources I needed. How did I pay for those resources you may ask? I ran more missions than I care to remember. I didn't have 30k resource deeds until near the end, but it didn't matter cause a)Spawns made my suppliesbetter and b)I found them on a vendor or was able to purchase off the forums. I can't even tell you what it was like not having this search function that is available now on the bazaar. Try running townm to town checking vendors hoping by chance they had what you needed. By times end, I made the high end buffs, that couldn't go any higher unless a spawn came along with better stats. Then the CU hits and we all know what happened then.
Well last weekend, I finished grinding out Weaponsmith. My other toon was lucky enough to loot a weapon exp ca and I was able to purchase the remaining points needed. I'm starting out small making High Capacity Scatter Pistols and Featherweight FWG5's and have made some pretty decent weapons. I used swgcraft and researched what the best would be, then looked on the bazaar for the resources. If it wasn't there, looked for next best and so on. I did have to use a couple of deeds I had, but so what, thats what they are there for.
Well what it all boils down to is I do not like these changes at all. My problem is with this new influx of people coming in they all have the "I want it now" mentallity. It seems more and more people are unwilling to work towards making a good product, they want it handed to them. If you want to be able to compete, wait it out like the rest of the community has done since day 1. I myself know I have to wait in order to expand on my inventory which currently consists of 2 different types of guns.

in one sense i have to agree with the dancer cor. this may be exactly what we need, because it will be the only true way to show the damage it will cause because the level of resource collection doesn't exist on TC that it does on other servers. not that there are zero good resource collectors on TC. i have seen some amazing stashes i wish i could lay claim to. but, as we all know, TC is not a huge server pop.

Have to disagree Mor-Dan. The people able to craft during the '10% window' before an adjustmentwill make huge stashes of schems. Everyone trying to enter a crafting prof after the window will have absolutely zero chance of ever competing. If they think it's bad now it will impossible if this happens. They MUST get this right before it hits live. Adjustments after going live will be pointless.
which is why i said "in one sense"
emotions are running high on this subject, so let's all do our best to stay calm and try to work with the entertainers to see their point of view and come up with a solution we can both be happy with.
THIS IS NOT YOUR TICKET TO JOIN THE MUSICIAN FORUM AND BUG THEM. i would like to keep all suggestions contained to the thread i started called "About the new Inspirations"

Mor-Dan, is this change inevitable? On the Dancer forums, Panthu is talking about it, but isnt even discussing the issues, I haven't seen any Dev post anything about this.
Is this the great Armorsmith dumbing down all over again? Its going to happend despite any discussion anywhere with the Devs?
I didn't say the Devs wouldn't change this buff. I think it's highly likely they will. I have my own opinions on what they will be doing to accomplish certain goals I know they've had for quite some time in regards to resource hoarding and high end crafting outside of this particular case though.
I only mentioned them because I thought it was relevant. It was meant to be a suggestion on how to best deal with certain changes I think are coming for you guys. *shrug* I could be totally wrong in my predictions. I'm not often, but I could be on this.
I stopped even talking about that after I said it a few times. I still think it, but if you guys don't care what I think that's fine by me. Now, since then I have been very forth coming with testing information and said nothing but nice things about crafters in general. I'm very excited to see Ent/Crafter connections being made and I hope all of this is worked out soon so you all can be excited about your new buffs too. ![]()
