I'm thinking about going swordsman, so i went looking for a good Power Hammer. The stats are...5.5 spd 175-604 30.9 wound. Is this a good one?

imho yes thats quite a good hammer its better than mine so buy it and start bashing some skulls
just one thing tho when you do get to novice swordsman and you "can" use the hammer
dont bother
you will miss very often and you wont hit very fast
stick with the curved sword till you get quite high up the tree

i used the two handed sword at start ( speed maily ), but once you level up a bit in swordsman than the power hammer is the way to go...

I have seen hammers with much better accuracy, but you often have to sacrifice other things, such as damage. At novice until you can get up your speed and accuracy you are usually better off with the curved sword yes.

The PH I use is -16 on all ranges, was still bout 450 max pre slice.... Go looking for a good weapon smith making this type of weapon.
As to the curved sowrd - yes the DPS is better, unless you are PVPing where mitigation will hert it, of the mob you are hitting has higher kinetic resist than blast...

I have seen 0 range modifier powerhammers, but they seemed to take a big hit in the speed/damage department. I would use a nice two hand curved sword, maybe a rancor tooth cleaver, or if you can a scythe to level with.
