Thread: No serial number cube --- exploit or by design? --

If you give the stuff to someone else, it is no longer your responsibility to monitor what they do with it (unless you specifically told them about the bug and how to abuse it). If they take it and say they won't exploit but do it anyway, it's their fault and they'll be the ones who get in trouble if Sony ever starts doing anything about it.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.
HUGE UGLY SIG

Got a csr response this morning explaing i could use the unserialed loot as long as i didnt use more than 11 items in 1 schematic.

I sent in a ticket and was told to promptly destroy everything.

does this give a chef any advantage in the game at all over another chef? no

that becomes a "bug"

when a said "bug" in its application allows an unfair advantage to a player/players in a way that was not intended

it becomes "exploiting"

Wrong, the BUG is the cask becoming serial numberless when placed in the schematic just like its a BUG white cubes dropped with no serial number......

Using both BUGGED things Knowingly to advantage from is exploiting....

Both BUGs are from Faulty design

Both are bugs, but the chef bug is not exploitable because it affects everyone equally. The serialless weapon component bug is exploitable because it requires specific bugged items and knowledge of how to exploit it.

also incorrect, drink containers, casks, small glass, large glass (and barrels if they ever get fixed) were intended by the devs to work this way. They have said that this was intended, and as such it is neither a bug, nor an exploit, its simply the way the devs chose to make that particular item(s) work.

using serialess geo cubes is a completely different story, as that was a "feature" that was not intended

I have been camping the geo cave for the last 4-5 hours. NOTHING I have looted has had a serial number.

Items I've looted from the Geo cave over the last few days w/o serial numbers today have serials on them.

I spent most of the weekend killing in the geo caves, looking for yellow cubes. Everything I looted Saturday had serials, but the stuff I got sunday doesn't, including a loot of 6 yellow cubes...

Does this mean I'm not supposed to use these to get two scythe's made?

This sounds more like a bug that we have no control over, not an exploit.

EDIT:

Oddly enough monday morning they all have serial numbers, so no worries

But still dont think this should have been considered an exploit.

Can we get a Dev on this. I have yet to see any of these serial-less cubes yet but i looted 7 serial-less heavy leathers earlier today from a nightsister. Maybe the "bug" is contagious!!!

All this needs is a few words from the Dev's - "Exploit" or maybe "Non-Exploit", and then some action to sort it out one way or the other. If a Dev comes here and shout's exploit then i would expect the majority of weaponsmiths to destroy/delete all the non serialized cubes anyway, as most weaponsmith's are honest. That way, tracking down the dishonest ones or exploiters would be easier for the dev's.

If the cubes are used as intended, then it's not an exploit. But ifthe cubes are usedto make an effectively endless supply of what are supposed to be limited weapons, then it is an exploit.

what's funny is I see all this bickering over WHITE cubes.

I for one, will not EVER put a white cube into a limited schematic. I'm not wasting it that way. I use yellow cubes in weapons I make. Know why? better damage... higher durability or lower ham cubes really don't work too well for making better weapons, it's all about the damage. So you guys can happily bicker about this all you want, I'll make sure and throw my white cubes on the bazaar for ya. Have at and good day.

I wouldn't put white cubes in anything today either. But if I had the legitimate (non-bug/exploit) choice of creating 2-4 scythes with yellow cubes or 1000 scythes with white cubes, I'd take choice B.

All i can say is you morons (Waahaa).......... "Architects have the same thing, faulty design". You have never even seen a schematic for a house or harvester have u? These schematics specify "similiar wall modules"--so as long as it's a wall module, it will work. Not too hard to throw together a few walls now is it? Compared to the intricacies of crafting a weapon wich takes EXACT components.

Your weapon "price gouging" is called making a profit. How cheap do u think weapons would be if wsmiths didn't have to pay 20cpu for that "uber rare" resource they just happen to not have. If the resource market wasn't controlled by greedy hologrinders wanting to make a quick buck, everything in this game would be cheaper. Supply and demand, pretty hard to understand ain't it...

If you people want to use exploits to continue your means and continue to keep the economy screwed, great. Sell your 30k Scythe's if it makes you sleep better at night knowing all u can do is cheat. SdDarktide and a couple others have a full understanding of what this geo cube bug means for the economy. The rest of you exploiters need a good head examination, but hey... if you have no self respect, or dignity to understand an exploit and common sense, chances are you're not very successful in life anyways. Maybe that's it, maybe this is all u really have, just a bad attitude, and a great exploit. Congratulations on your new found sense of worth and accomplishment.
