Well, at least this vindicates my decision to NOT wear the MWS label. I just go with swordsmith or explosives manufacturer. Plus, most of my gameplay is very late at night, so I seem to avoid the uber leet dudes (just can't bring myself to spell it the other way). But what does annoy me is when someone asks you for a specific weapon, you give them the WP to the shop and they never show. A simple reply saying "it's out of the way" or "thanks anyway" would be nice. Instead you wonder whether they are lost or you sent the e-mail to the wrong person. But at least it's fun 85% of the time.

ive got two stories, both very recent.

Im just getting off the shuttle at mos entha, and before my screen even loads some dood starts talking to me. "hey ben" then i start to walk away and notice someone has been talking to me. "need weapon" he says. I say "um, no im a weaponsmith, i dont need your weapon, i can make my own" he says "what is stats on your LLC" to which i respond with my standard answer "i cant be expected to remember the stats of every weapon i make, but they are competitive with what you can find pretty much anywhere." he says "my friend says you are the best" how can i argue with that??? anyway, he continues, "Id like a LLC with a speed of 3.0 and a damage of 700, how much would that be?" I say, "well, if you bring me the tissues, and i mean not the normal +30 -0.3 crap, but really good ones, and a master smuggler, i can make it for you, otherwise" "Ill give you 40k, what will that get me?" i laugh to myself. "otherwise, if i have to get the tissues for you it will be something like 7-8 million" So he says "ill give you 50k"

then last night i was telling someone about the uber VK's i made and some dood hears me and says "whats the best vibroblade you can make?" so i explain to him that i made 1 blade when i was making the uber knuckles and that the stats are pretty much the same as withthe VK, and that they sell for 100k." He says "cool, can i have it?" Then i explain to him about the value of the weapon He says "im asking about vibroblades, not vibroknuckles" "I understand that, but you dont understand that this vibroblade is the best vibroblade ever made in this galaxy" He says, "ill give you the resources you need to make it" well, no you cant because #1, the resources i used to make it arent on planet anymore, and #2, the motors i used to make I only have a few left, and ill be saving those for VK's because they sell better."

can i have it... my jaw hit the ground when he said that

haha so true arlya, ive gotten that many times, makes me want to punch these people in the neck when they do that.

krayt is a pain in the weaponsmiths dorsal fin

its going to get worse with the new patch, a bunch of lootable schematics in it, a whole bunch, its going to be fun making weapons for my friends and myself but anyone else can go to a field and sit on it

I esspecially love the "What do you mean you can't make a FWG5 like that any more. I see then on the boards."

HAving to explain power handler vs projectile is also a joy.

And Karyt I made a horrilbe mistake of making a wepaon for someone, including buying the tissue, asking if he realized how expensive the tissues were from the vendor , he said he'd checked and he knew. So I bought the tissues made the weapon. I guess he has trouble counting 0's He though the tissues cost 40K not 400K,And offerend me 50K for his finished weapon. So now I'm stuck with a weapon I know I'll never find a buyer for at a price that will get back what I lost on resources.

Oh well Guess I'll be packin a Karyt weapon as a side arm.

my friend read this post and still thinks that these things are being price-gouged. I think he just doesnt understand the time it takes. He says, "60k and it only takes 2000 minerals to make???" I just rolled my eyes at him and shook my head... poor lad

I'm grinding WS for the PA I'm in. I actually cancelled about 4 months ago and wasn't planning on returning to the game this soon, but two co-workers started playing and wanted me to join the PA they are in. It's a small PA and I figured I would make something that they need. It was on a different server than my former main server (Eclipse) so it was gonna be a fresh start. I'm currently grinding up WS using the slackers guide and should have MWS in a few days, week tops. Thanks to you guys, I know not to go showing my title. I have Novice showing now and already get some of the same tells and I can only imagine the misery of what it will be like when there is a Master in front of it. Oh well, I can keep doing what I do now when people ask me if I can make LLC's and other things (I'm currently at 0,1,1,0 and halfway to Adv Munitions) I just tell them that I'm a chef. They always reply with, it says that you are a novice weaponsmith though and get all confused. I simply say that it's a bug and ask if they want to buy some Bantha Spit instead and they generally leave me alone.

Thanks for the good read and education about what I have to look forward to.

Your certainly not alone, All crafters and people who provide services will get asked stupid questions etc, personally i have no probs people asking me for advice or asking nicley if i'm providing a service then taking it as final if i say no but there are limits, i'll provide you with 4 of my more interesting conversations of the day

random: Can you buff plz?

Me: Sorry got no packs on me

random: I want buffing not healing

Me: No i need to use buff packs to buff

random: No you dont

Me: **** OFF RIGHT NOW

Random: Can you heal my 20k hamkemo up

It's universal no matter what profession you are in. We are faced with a collection of players who don't understand why they can't call up a God Mode by hitting up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start. They are angry when they can't have a republic blaster that hits for 600 at 1.0 speed and is heavy armor piercing. They want a set of armor that stuns and bleeds CAN'T get through. And above all else they want to be able to open their FS slot by killing a dwarf nuna.

Everyone want something for nothing. A friend of mine said he was going to find a pirated copy of SWG so he could play. As I described the logging in process and how there really wasn't any way I could think of that he could play for free, outside of the freebie introductory sample thing. As he stared blankly, claimed he would find a way, and walked off, I almost envisioned him in bone armor running off to find a Karyt.

The consolation I guess is we're all dealing with them together.

I have my own method of dealing with customers.

customer can you make X weapon with X stats

me- im a master weaponsmith i can make anything.

customer- is it as good as the one i have

Me-how do i know u havent told me the stats.

customer-well if you cant make one as good as i have i dont want it, and dont try and rip me off or i wont buy off you anymore...

Me- well put it in the trade window let me take alook.

(meanwhile hes using a scout pistol with max damage of 110 he bought for 5k)

so i tell him sure i can make you a basic scout pistol that does about 150ish damage unsliced...

ill sell it to ya for 10k since you are asking me to build it for you now and i consider that a custom order which i charge a extra 5k for...

customer- what are you crazy how do you stay in business forget it im not ever buying a weapon off ya again..

ME- Right bye matter of fact tell all your friends never to buy anything off me either.. matter of fact never talk to me again...

when will people learn that master weaponsmiths who have been around for a while are rich and could care less what people have to say..

I try and be polite, and take care of my customers.. most people i deal with are not noobs and are mature enough to know what goes into weaponsmithing and how hard it is to actually have quality weapons..

when someone says, i have a x gun it does x damage and your gun is 5 points less.. your not elite.. i laugh at him and say well u see i have elite resources and i have krayt tissues and i can make a gun that makes that little toy look silly.. however due to the fact that your totally inept of understanding such things i cant help you unless you have 3million credits and ill make you whatever you want..(payment first)

Heres the difference

good customer- could u make me a krayt lasercarb

me- hmm sure but i dont have the tissue

good customer- oh okay np well if i can get some what would u charge me..

me- ah whatever u can afford it would be my pleasure , oh btw does your weapon need to be repaired i have some nice 99.9 repair tools...

good customer-thats cool of you i have very few credits this week..

me-bah bring me the tissue ill just make it for ya fo free as long as u dont mind me making it a signature serious weapon..

good customer(how long will it take)

me-it might take a few days with my time constraints

good customer-alrighty np peace

ya guys we all have our share of annoying and good customers.. I love weaponsmithing i wish i had more skill points but hey what other proffession can you get into where the longer you play it the better you become...

one truth remains in the game only the weaponsmiths that have been around for along time and are dedicated will be elite eveyrone else are just amatures ^_^

My ABSOLUTE favorite is when i wasnt yet a master and people would ask me, "how good are your ________" and i would reply " XXXXXX" and then they would say "God, you suck!!!"

JUst had a customer rip into me because out of a long list of weapons he wanted made I would not build the rocket Launchers (Too much work). He then tells me he buys most of his guns from me and if I wont make them he will take his business elsewhere. I guess he never learned that threats do not make the crafter work harder.
