Sthing I like (ironic here of course) is when I'm alone in the middle of nowhere and someone who could only find me with the search command suddenly ask "hello, do you make weapons?" ....I'm like dothese guystry random names and if there's a char with that name and is onthey hope it's a (master) WS or what ? lol

good, it isn't just me.
I'm not even Master yet, and I get tells like that.
The *worst* is when you are stocking a vendor, and someone comes by. It's always so ackward, especially when they ask those questions.

My personal fav is when I was stood in the shop idly chatting to friends -
Guy: What no guns?
< I think, god dont say the vendor has blown up>
Quick check, relief...
Me: Yep over 400 on there as usual
Guy: No there isn't
Me: Have you got a filter on
Guy: No
<look at guy in full comp>
Me: Have you just bought armour?
Guy: Yes why?
Me: No matter, vendor must have crashed.....

It's all so true, by strangely, I don't find any of it funny any more.
The weapons crafting, resource analysis and merchant side of running a Weapons Store I dearly loved. I'm a sad mathematician at heart, and I got a right kick out of it.
But customers who act in wayslike thisruin the profession for those of us people who enjoy crafting. So it's back to combat classes for me, which isa shame. I closed all my Weaponsmith stores last night, and will be deleting the account tonight

Hi all
I'm going to start working on MWS this weekend and am looking forward to making my own weapons - I have lotsa harverters and stuff collecting some pukka resources as I type -
Going back on topic. I remember when I put my vendors up while doing MArch and at the time I had just given up MAtrisan & was still a MScout. So I had all these nice things to sell like speeders and crates of camp kits and what not and I was just about to add them all to my vendors when a bloke came in to my shop/house and asked:
bloke: Do you have any good speeders for sale?
me: I do as it happens, what are you looking for?
bloke: I want one of each.
me:No problem, but I feel I should warn you that you won't be able to store more that one on you datapad at any giventime.
bloke: That can't be right, because I met this uber guy last night and he told me that I can have as many as I want...
me:Herm...okay, if you say so.
*we do the deal for one of each vehicle*
bloke (via /tell 10 minutes later): Oi! You've fuc*ing ripped me off!!!
me: Really? How so?
bloke: I can only store one of those sh*t speeder's you sold me on my datapad at a time!!!
It all wen't down hill from there...lol
He was F'n and blinding and I thought about ignoring him, but it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fun to rub in how stoopid he was by just being nice to him and asking him if he'd read the forums or the on-line manual! He then went to a CSR and complained that I'd ripped him off. The best part of all of this was showing the CSR screen dumps of the whole conversation - which included my inital warning - and then he and I had a really good laff before the CSR banned him - I wasn't the only crafter he'd spoken to in this manner - LMAO!!!
What's the moral of this story I hear you ask? Well there are 3 that I can see:
1. Always remember to bring your brain when you're playing SWG.
2. Always listen to what more experianced players tell you.
3. Karma will always bit you on the ass.

My Favorite now, is about the new sword or a new gun. Can you make the Scythe sword??? Why not??? I saw some guy on the boards had it? Come on! It is only on Test Center!!!! Wait for it!! **edit**.

Note to self:
- Never wear Master Weaponsmith title after achieving it
- Change your AFK message to read: "I'm sorry, I am working and cannot be disturbed. If you have a question, please send it in an email. I do not make Krayt weapons, prices aren't negotiable and what you see on the vendor is all I've got."
- Change house status to Private before stocking the vendor, so as not to encounter customers face to face.
- Set up a droid in the shop that says the following message: "I'm a player trying to enjoy this game too. But I am frequently overwhelmed with tells from other players, making it impossible for me to enjoy the experience. I humbly ask that you please honor my request and not bombard me with tells. Players that spoil my fun will be banned from the shop and /addignored. Thanks for understanding. And no, those weapons aren't sliced."

This is why I always try and be as polite as possible when speaking to any crafter profession.
If I need something from them that they don't have on their vendor, I'll ask NICELY if they can make it for me and that I'm prepared to wait as long as is needed and I'll run to them. I'll even offer to help get resources if I'm desperate for a specific weapon/piece of armour/food/spice etc.
It sucks to hear you guys have to put up with so much sh*t from people, don't give up.
Oh don't know if this one was done already, but it's a classic.

As the original poster said, I've just got to rant -- or at least join in the ranting. The stupid customer questions are a laugh riot, but like the fella said, I HATE the word Krayt. Krayt weapons drove me out of the business. Too many farmers come in and want 30 freakin Krayt scouts made, and of course what they have are 10 sets of two tissue each or something, so no schematics. And you know, I made the same thing over and over and over again one (ok, about 100,000) too many times on my way to master to want to keep doing it now that I am a master. Or else it's someone who brings in a +111 tissue or something, and then the stress of waiting to see if I get the crit fail just kills me. I know, that's all chance and I can't do much about the outcome that I haven't already done with quality tools and skill tape, but I still take the stress from that too personally. I hate it when something one of my friends values that much goes poof in my hands.

Howdy;
Love the sales of $50K tissues, heh. I buy for 100 cr per % and if you want to go get that much for them, have at it. It also shows in that there are NO 100K weapons on my vendor - highest one in there I believe is probably around $35K for some commando stuff, heh.
Question raised is this - but you can sell them for so much more !! Right, maybe and maybe not. The Tissue weapons I make forcustomers cost no more than the standard prices. Folks just don't get it. If this was about Money, I would just sell all my resources for about 5 million.

Oh the memories these stories bring me.
I was one of the first MWS on theEclispe Server when SWG was launched with no beta experienced so I have been reading this thread chuckling for myself at all the horrible memories.
Being one of the few MWS on the possibly the largest server in the beginning with so many resources missing from the universe, my greatest pain was all the instances when I had to explain for all the players that the resources wasn't available yet. Or that they hadn't popped yet.
75% of they time I got the response: "Well what do you need?"
I often tried to explain calmly that It hadn't popped in our new galaxy yet, wich very few understood.
I often got tells saying "I'll look for it" like they were going to find a resource under a rock on Tatooine when no one else had looked.
The hardest part for me was the resource gathering, as I was my own miner.
After I reached MWS I couldn't last more than a month before I totally removed every WS skill and went for BH instead.
The irony was that after a while I finally sold many of my resources,I concluded that I made more credits selling a few of my precious resources than I ever made during my days as a Master WS.
