I'm definately not a fan of Bowcasters not being any use in higher end stuff.
Perhaps maybe multiple types of Bowcasters certified at different levels of Rifleman... or perhaps lower the godawefully huge Stat bonuses for Wookies and give them a "level appropriate" certification based on their Health bar progression... as a Wookie gets better at combat in general they get to use the higher end bowcasters.
I'm just sick of seeing wookies with T21's or anything but bowcasters.
This actually brings up a general idea that would be great.
'Racial progression'. Giveevery orat least some of theraces a progression tree. As they get 'stronger' within professiong they get free (no skill point) boxes within their racial progression. this would be similar to the existing Force progression tree that advances as you gofrom force sensitive to jedi initiate to jedi padawan, etc. This would let Wookiees gain certs for new bowcasters or armor without tying it to a specific profession, though special abilities with the bowcaster would require some proficiency with ranged weapons ( a wookiee might be able to use the best bowcaster if they're a TKM, but they won't be able to do more than a basic ranged attack unless they have skill boxes in ranged professions).
Do this now Dev's and I will accept you new color, WoW Toolbar!
Well, it's simple:
Keep the bowcaster that is ingame now, certed for ANY wookiee (with the aprox. stats it has now)
ADD:
A new bowcaster (check Ep.III pics for refernce; you'll see lots of them) with much better stats, certed for WOOKIEE Novice Rifleman
and
A new bowcaster with the aprox. stats of a T21, certed for WOOKIEE Master Rifleman
That way, Master Riflewookiees would PROUDLY wield their TRADITIONAL weapon, and gladly discarding the over-used T21...

I am confused a little about the CU. Ive been Testing an making bug reports but I am uncertain about weapons. Ive heard that the weapons are the base weapon and then the player can do some bacic customization like put a scope or stock on weapons after they are crafted to personalize the weapons and that the aditional parts will act like jedi force cristals and decay separately so that a player may swich around some parts if they whant, and that is why the T21 default image still doesn't show it with a stock, but this system just hasn't been activated in TC yet. This is inaddition to thesmuggler specificsliceing that the slicing is on the weapon but not the three optional player parts. Is this true? I like this Idea.
Not true. There's been no indication of anything like that occurring. My guess is somebody out there's getting their kicks by baseless spreading rumors.
On the other hand I heard that all aditionaly looks on weapons have been disabled so they are being compleetly removed frome the game, and that all the customization is done by WS and Smugglers.
The visual customization has been turned off temporarily so that they can work on fixing some of the bugs and working toward some regularity as to what shows customizations when. Don't expect it to be back any time soon, as I'm sure this will be on an "after the CU" timetable. When it comes back though, it'll be ours. If it makes you feel any better, nobodycould see the customizations but you anyway, unless the weapon was hanging on your wall.
The only thing smugglers can do to a weapon is slicing. That hasn't changed.
Which is true or are they both partially true? I really don't like the second one because it limits the freedom and individuality of the players. Can you please clearify this for me?

So you're saying that as long as you use a weapon within that range it will operate optimally? No more you're off by one metre so you suffer a huge accuracy penalty? If that's so, it sounds good to me!
Doesn't this kind of defeat part of the reason we are getting a CU to begin with? Rifleman aren't supposed to be close range fighters, but will be just as accurate from 6m or 60m. Pistoleers...well, think about this for a second, as the Jedi correspondent. BH's using a pistol will be just as effective at 64m, where you can't touch them. Pistols are not a long range weapon, at least they shouldn't be in terms of accuracy.
And as far as I know, and I've been playing since launch...1m didn't cause you to "suffer a huge accuracy penalty". It gradually went up and down, as your char got closer or farther from his optimal range.
I thought I had read somewhere that in the CU, each type of weapon was going to be specifically optimized for a certain range:
Pistols: 0-32
Carbs: 16-48
Rifles: 32-64
Not that they wouldn't work otherwise, just that they'd be much less accurate as you went out of your optimal range.

CrimsonRanger wrote:Where is the durability of a weapon determined? Does any of the 3 crafting lines (speed, damage, efficiency) affect it?Today...
... durability is entirely a function of resources. The durability experimentation line was removed to make room for more [comparatively] important stat lines.
How does this impact components that may add to durability (such as Green Geo Cubes)? Will they no longer be as useful for some types of weaposn (e.g. Geo Pistols) because with good resources comes de-facto good condition?
[not a terribly important issue, just probing for more info]
