Powerhammers I have made are 137 - 468 dmg, 5.3 speed. Hams are 114-36-24 (pure dmg), all experimentation went into dmg/speed with that batch, most people ask me to do that when I ask them so yeh.

Good stuff!

The trick must be in the advanced core. That's the only way I can see to get the speed any faster, as I used 999 SR steel for the blade and like 958 OQ polymer for the grip. Getting better dolovite for the core might be the difference.

Gawd, I wish I'd met you guys last year...

Talk about obsessed... my alt was strictly built for making swords (Yukimitsu, Corbantis). Before I gave the account away, I was making 2.4 speed, 250 (or thereabouts) max damage. My main priority was speed (I played a Wookie swordsman, Karballo, as my primary), and none of the swords I sold were slower than 2.5.

What's sick is that I had several (sliced) in the 1.6 range. I wouldn't sell any of those, but I did sell swords sliced to 1.7, as well as some with a max damage of (I think) something like 322.

Of course, I've since noticed swords doing upwards of 450 damage (powered by Rancor teeth or whatever the powerup is, no doubt), so the stats I came up with seem pretty insignificant.

Still... the one sword I saw mentioned on the board with something like 450 damage (or whatever) had a 3.9 speed, so I'm wondering if that was just a crap sword buffed with an uber drop, or if the Rancor teeth simply leech off speed? Heck if I know, but I kinda wish I'd gotten the chance.

I do know I used to make THE best dang 2h swords in all of Corbantis (mostly because I did nothing else whatsoever with the character, and all the materials were 975 or better, with the dolovite being 994 or 997).

Why couldn't SOE put this all into place two years ago?

Gaaah! My connection was glitching, and I kept getting an error message while trying to post. Sorry about that! Definitely didn't intend to post this thing three times!

The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.

Ooops... Sorry, guys. I'm a noob, what can I say? It's been something like a year since I last played SWG and about that long since I'd posted anything on the forums here. Learning that FS was actually possible now (it really wasn't back then, unless you were a CH or BH, and it sure wasn't doable for a solo player) was so blissfully exciting that I jumped on the forums to see what was up.

After looking over the various "How to Become a Jedi in 12 Easy Steps" postings, I did a search for my second big obsession - 2-h curved swords (aka katanas). I once put up a post titled, "Best Swords in the Galaxy" here, as I wondered if I made the best ones (with my alt). Considering I spent four months building a master weaponsmith/architect for the SOLE purpose of building swords for my primary character, it was a bit of an obsession with me to beat out every other weaponsmith on the server, if only in that one area. I couldn't care less about T21s, flamethrowers, or even 2-handed cleavers (I made some for the heck of it, but not with any real enthusiasm).

Anyway... sorry - should have created a new post, but the excitement kinda got me.

Oh, and I guess I should point out - I ran into one of the friends I gave the accounts to last night (actually the friend's girlfriend), and she gave me Karballo back. Looks like I'll be deleting the waldo1984/KarballoIII account and resurrecting my old character. I might get Yukimitsu (the WS) back, so it'll be interesting to see if I can get some rancor teeth and beat out those outrageously high damage numbers I saw earlier.

Of course, given the FS thing being "doable" now and my old character having gone through a heck of a lot of that way back when, I might just give up on the WS and go exclusively back to the combat thing.

Build a man a fire and he's warm for a night. Set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

And don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Because then you're a mile away and you have his shoes.
