If you have made weapons in the past, and knowingly abused this exploit, don't be surprised if we contact you about it.

Define the difference between knowingly and unknowingly?

I suppose since I have posted here my knowingly bit has been switched to on.

Ahhh my bad ..... I should have taken the time to read the entire post instead of just Taurin's reply then eh? Anyhow I am glad that they have ways of detecting this, as I know an entire guild on my server that uses those stupid i-make guns....sorta lame.... meh

What happens when the bank discovers you have a counterfeit $20 bill? They confiscate it, do they give you $20 back? Hell no, your SOL. Same goes for this game, even if someone paid for the tissue, doesnt mean they get to keep it.

The non-serial tissues are not exploited. The most likely scenario is that they were looted off a krayt just the same as any other tissue. Now though, I probably think that what he meant was that if you EXPLOIT it, as in putting it in your factory and churning out 1000 +150 max dmg -3.0 speed krayt power couplers from +30 max tissues, then you're in trouble. I wouldnt think there should be a problem with using it in one power handler, such as using it in an E11 or a Scatter pistol.

Using it in a single-handler weapon doesnt exploit in any way at all.

If the dev's are extremely concerned about this, why not give the opportunity to players to exchange their non-serialed tissues for serialed ones. Then, they could be 100% sure that anyone who used a non-serial tissue would be using it for exploits. Problem solved.

And what happens if it's the bank that actually gave you that $20 bill...

In regards to the non-serialized Krayt components, you should not be using them. If you are looking for an official statement on them, here it is. If you use them, you risk getting banned. If you still have some, please delete them. If you have made weapons in the past, and knowingly abused this exploit, don't be surprised if we contact you about it.

Why don't you just:

delete
from playerinventory
where itemid = 932034 (Krayt Tissue)
and itemserial = "" (no serial);
delete
from factoryinputhopper
where itemid = 932034
and itemserial = "";
delete
from playerschematics
etc. (repeat for every container in the game)

Instead of waiting to ban players for using it. Its a bugged component. You can then email the owners of said items: "Your were robbed while you slept! Some Rare KraytTissue was stolen! We think it was Tippar Muggers!" Just like you did to the shattered holocrons.

I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to you all on this subject.

As Logix pointed out, we can't possibly make public statements on all of our bugs and exploits. We prefer to allocate the manpower to fixing them rather then pointing them out for all to see.

I hope that clears things up for you all. Thank you for your concern in this issue.

Taurin,

How can you just simply ask someone to delete some krayt tissues that they have? Many pay 50k + for these tissues a piece (up to about 1 mil+ for the higher end tissues). If anything, they should be able to contact a CSR and have them switched out for different tissues that have a serial number attached to them. If however, you are talking about the schematics and using those to make the "i-make" weapons which ran rampant for a few days, then I would agree that they need to be banned for using them as such. Please clarify if you could because I know that when I used to be a weaponsmith I would pay a pretty decent amount for these tissues and would be quite angry if I was not able to use them and had to simply delete them.

He didn't ask you to delete the Tissues . . .he asked you to delete the schematics.

This post concerns SCHEMATICS, not tissues.

I believe he used the word component, not schematic. If he meant schematic, then he obviously used the wrong word. As it is, the word Schematic does not appear in that statement.
