There are weaponsmiths on my server, intrepid that constantly roll out the same krayt guns...I now know how they do it and they should be looked into.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Obviously, the people who do not have access to these are going to cry exploit and be upset about it. When the tissue first dropped though, we all assumed they changed it to be that way on purpose and of course started using it. The devs changed the Krayts again to fix the armor, and the tissues changed with them... with no word from the devs about any of it all. Why didn't they change these unserialized tissues when they made the fix?

It has been well known what these unserialized tissues meant from the moment they first dropped - and the devs have choosen not to do anything, not even mention whether we should be using them. Many times there is a fine line between using the game mechanics to their fullest extent and "exploiting". The devs really do need to come forward in this situation and make things clear. Is the situation fair? Definitely not. Is it an exploit? The answer to that is a matter of opinion.

What? Where did you get this? Not everyone that has access to it actually uses it. That would be because not everyone has such abankrupt set of ethics.

Good lord do you really think that using a +30 dmg tissue to get a +134 dmg BPH is not an exploit? Say it isn't so!

My assumption is thatretroactively implementingserial numbers on all non-serial Krayt Tissues circulating in the system would require more manpower in pruning the database code than what is reasonable. That is, if that's even possible in the first place. For example, giving players the ability to rename already-crafted items (saving containers) is not possible due to database limitations, to give you an idea how difficult it may be to alter existing items in the database.

Additionally, simply because a bug continues to exist within the game does not permit you to take advantage of it. It's not about what's fair, it's common sense. If you're crafting a gun with a schematic for a +30 tissue, obviously you're taking advantage of a bug if you magically turn that into a +70 tissue. That said, serial-less tissues are now rather scarce across most servers, making this probably a non-issue. However, I think most players consider this an exploit, myself included, so I would recommend you not attempt to try this bug yourself.

Lastly, there are very many honest, legitimate Krayt weapon dealers out there. Most of them keep close contacts with Jedi hunting for Krayt Pearls and they get good deals on their excess Krayt Tissue. Before blowing the whistle on any Krayt weapon dealers, be sure to double-check through their stock and get a second opinion. Most importantly, contact the dealer himself; he may be more than happy todemonstrate his legitimacy and improve his reputation.

We have had the two biggest Krayt exploits to hitLive serversfinally fixed and I am constantly seeking out information on new exploits so that they may be eradicated as soon as possible. If you happen to come across one yourself, please contact Taurin and myself privately.

Ok, well obviously turning lower level tissue into stuff with higher stats is not what is intended. The majorityof the cases where people are using this tissue though, are not doing this. But would it be that hard for the devs to come out and say "stop using this" if they consider it to truly be an exploit?

Using older, more powerful items that have been nerfed is a fact of life in these types of games. It definitely is not fair to newer players or those who cannot take advantage of them, but I would not automatically consider it an exploit.

FWG5s, Scatters and Launchers were nerfed because the devs decided that it was a mistake and they were too powerful. Is continuing to sell these and use these an exploit because it is not fair to the new players that cannot get a hold of them?

I have a 20 BER fusion generator, is using that an exploit even though it was created in a valid crafting system that they later nerfed?

This list could go on and on... my point is that it can be a fine line between using the game system skillfully and using an "exploit". We need the devs to come forward and take action if they truly feel something is an exploit.

Yes, it would. PR aside, can you imagine the work required just to post every single bug and exploit that they'd rather you not use? Take a wild guess at how many exploits are currently being used in the game, anywhere from minor hair bugs to horrific resource dupes.

Then you throw PR in there, and it's not feasible. No company is going to announce every single flaw in the game that allows certain players get ahead of others, it's bad publicity. Moreover, it could make more players attempt to "find" the exploits and try them out themselves.

As for FWG5s, Fusions, et al: These were part of a game design, at one point. Turning a +30 tissue into a +70 tissue was never in the game design. A +30 tissue is a +30 tissue, it's that simple, we all know that's not supposed to happen.

However, if you were able to continue to produce FWG5 schematicswith Blaster Power-handlers even after the game system was altered to prevent you from doing so, that would be considered an exploit. You would be using a flaw to get around the game design and use it to your advantage. Simply owning a FWG5 that you made before the nerf, however, isn't an exploit. You have a FWG5 that you crafted legitimately within the game design, just because the game design has been since altered doesn't mean that your FWG5 is any less legitimate.

He's not talking about the components ! If you read page one or knew anything about this issue you would realize there are NO tissue exploits involved, only schematics! /deathblow

We payed for this stuff, and your telling us to just delete them? I hope this is not your new strategy to keep the few players left, in the game. Compensate us for these and we'll gladly delete them.

Yay, the day this little exploit was discovered I spent over an hour in the SOE chatrooms trying to first get the attention of a csr, and then finally ended up getting an email address on where to explain the exploit. That was a long, long time ago...glad to see it only takes this long to get attention.

You paid for exploitable tissue, knowing that they could be used in ways not intended. If you state otherwise, well.. sorry if I'm skeptical.

Use the one tissue in a Scatter or Scout Blaster, then there is no problem. If you have a schematic like this, delete it.. if you bought it, made it yourself, doesn't matter.

Hmm.. I had no idea this was an exploit... For a little while all the krayt loot I got was unserialized, so I kept it all, and when I finally got my vendor up I put it up for sale. I had no idea this was a bad thing, I just thought it was from that short time when serials seemed to have disappeared for a little while....

Hey Taurin, how 'bout we fix the game so these *exploits* don't show up on our doorsteps.

It's not like the majority of people go around looking for ways to exploit the game...

The majority of the time they just fall into our laps because of lack of testing and lack of fixing long-standing bugs.
