It's one per person...
For now. Anyone else remember the Holocron "christmas present" that the devs gave out? And when some people didn't receive the appropo reward the only solution that the Devs came up with was to give everyone another one, effectively starting the loot craziness.
So how many of these do you think everyone will REALLY end up with.

I still think this is a big issue. Why not just slice a load of enhanced VKs, take the best one (35%?) and cap it at that. All VK sales drop. Who knows... maybe one of these days they'll be required to sell in our krayt weapondry... *sigh*

This is nothing. It can only be used on one item and shouldn't put much ofa dent into our recurring sales. Unlike the Architects, we won't be screwed over by this.
How so? The harvester is ONE harvester. Most people use upwards of 5 minimum to get their resources. This does not hardly hurt architects in any way. Compared to weaponsmith, where you only really need one weapon, that weapon never breaks, decays, and nothing bad comes to it, how can we see any recurring sales?
Recap: You need one weapon, you need many harvesters.

It's not just the harvesters. The Architects were screwed over big time with the change to structure maintainence. Imagine if a weapon you made decayed at half the rate it does now, that would be similar to what is being done to Architects who are like the Weaponsmiths in that they rely upon item decay for their business. The self sustaining harv is not what we're concerned about, it's the lack of repeat business which concerns us and should concern Weaponsmiths as well as our profession could easily be next.

If these unbreakable items can be traded then it's perfectly possible for someone to end up with an entire outfit of non-decaying armour, or a few non-decaying uber weapons.
Restrict the items this anti-decay kit can be used on. I don't like the idea anyway, let alone the fact that it'll mean unbreakable uber weapons. And don't say they won't be uber after CU. If all weapons are being balanced in a fair way they will still be comparably uber after being balanced.

Yes, I do worry....plain and simple, if I think about the exeptional/legendary rilfe/ph. Totally gamebreaking, and now NO DECAY? I beg your pardon?

its going live now without any word from the developers tat they have actually considered the impact this could have on the economy of crafters. Again I might be overreacting, but I really dont like the perspective

For gods sake, it's 1 item, how many combat characters do you know who use one weapon?
I think you will find that a persons "uber" weapon is safely tucked away for that special occassion and is rarely used, or used a lot less than that persons regular weapons.

If you think 1 weapon that a character has on himself that wont decay will cost you your business, then pack up WS now.

and think CU.
This is not something I feel is something to worry about. If I had no Melee sales from here on in I would still be rediculously busy and after the CU we will be mad busy as all weapons will come into effect and be viable in game.

apparently you pull the weapon into the kit and it doesnt decay while in there, then you can retrieve it from the kit and put another into it.. at least thats what I get from reading the description on the actual kit ingame...
Havent tried it out yet, but if thats accurate its even worse than I thourght. And yes I am thinking CU, but I havent heard anything about when this will go live and before I know its right around the corner I aint going to take it into consideration. After all its been more than a year since they started talking about it.
Also if what I have now understood about the kit is true, then it doesnt matter how many different weapons you need in order to fight, as you can just put the one you use into the kit and switch when another is needed. I seriously hope the description on the kit ingame is wrong.

If this is the case, then we'll raise holy hell. I'll be at work all day (and in meetings all morning), so let me know what you guys find out.

okay tried it out now and it seems that if you put the weapon into the kit you can either make it no decay or you can pull it out. So my guess is that if you apply the anti decay you wont be able to retrieve it
Thats a bit of a relief, but Im still conserned about the kit anyway.
