Thread: Warning to weaponsmiths on the Ahazi Server
I figured Orion wasn't serious. He's just trolling for flames. I guess that's how he gets his kicks. Funny thing is, if he were so busy destroying the weapon economy on Ahazi, he wouldn't have any time for posting on the forums. ![]()

I'm afraid that 500c is a little too rich for my blood. How about 495c? You know, if you are in the market to undercut all the other weaponsmiths, you might as well just give them out for free by the crateful. Then you don't have to worry about the trade windows and hassles of transferring money.
On another note, if you would like to talk to someone about your rage issues, I'm sure I can get you in touch with a number of excellent psychologists in your area. Just let me know how I can help. ![]()
Man i made 10 k the first night i even played this game. Dude you need to check out the mission termials, they are there for a reason. If you cant make 8k to get ur next weapon somthing is wrong an you need to give that toon up anyways.

...I'm --quaking-- in my boots! Good gawd! Why, oh why %tt do you have to threaten crafters like this! Please, please PLEEEASE don't do this! Don't ruin our economy!
Um....yeah--- Reach master weaponsmith. Many in this thread have outlined how daunting it is to maintain stock and business as a master crafter. Its a second job! I love crafting, but as sickelm posted: I get to move harvestors, fill orders, answer questions ranging from noobie to "um, just a sec let me research this.." while my friends complete their badge quests, seek out interesting POIs (Points of Interests) and climb fun skill trees! My profit is liquid, which means I dump alot of credits into resources that are live---stockpiling for future draughts. Prices are set at a reason, %TT---because no weaponsmith in their right mind (or any other crafting profession) wants to work at a loss. More over, %TT, no master crafter wants to work harder than they allready do! It shouldn't be easy nabbing that 52% Adv Composite suit---it should be a task. Same with superior weapons: it should be a slight undertaking--- Really, I do not understand how it is you cannot or did not find a way to generate credits to afford your weapons.
I hope you read Sickelm's post and take his suggestion(s) under advisement! Because I'll be inline @ your shop waiting to purchase your "Hot off the Press" armor, so that I can sell it in my shop and, thus, afford more time to do fun activities with my friends. Prices are a result of a player driven economy in this game! If you don't like it, I suggest finding another game --or-- /gasp! Interacting with players' ingame to A) make credits hunting/mission running or, B) mining resources to sell for profit, hunting/mission running. The abilities to earn credits are numerous, ingame--and I imagine your conversation with said Master Weaponsmith went something like
,"D00dzor, I gotz 2k--can you hook me up on that kryat tishoo Fgw5t????//11!"
I receive many a tell a night like this-- and I've done my share of "hooking up the kids" but honestly! I worked my ingame arse off to obtain master armorsmith! I really loathe those that aren't willing to achieve a goal, and want a high-end/end game item for pennies or for free!
So, please, keep us posted! I can't wait to read the attitude adjustment you receive the first day you stick that "Master_Weaponsmith_58432 above your toon's head! You're going to slap your weapon prices in-line with the rest of the smiths' on our server SO FAST, Mon- Montha's head will spin!

"...**edit**, I smell good!
forceone, i love your style!! you entertain me as much as all the other crybaby flamers here!!
blah blah blah, you'll never make guns as good as me!!!
HAHA!!! if you were so great, you'd be the only weaponsmith out there. since there are more than two weaponsmiths on Ahazi, I guess you suck as much as me, right?
wow. some people think i take this game too seriously.
i think you all take this forum too seriously.
blah blah blah, ruin the economy? i got a friend who played in Beta. he said that decent FWG5's ran about 400 credits there. funny..... 400 to 10k in just a few months?
oh, and as for the prices of resources, you guys are morons. i guess you need to learn how to read again. i said i don't have to pay for any resources, and i have people who hunt them down for me. and just so you have more of a reason to flame me....
within the 18 hours since first starting this thread, i've had 31 replies, all negative. but in game i've made 50,000 credits, and gotten two skills off the first tier. funny.... i didn't have to grind a thing. just UXP, that's all. Man, you all need to learn how to play. I look at your tags on your posts.... I look at weaponsmiths outfits and equipped weapons in-game. I noticed that you all have some kind of Combat skills...
so, instead of crafting, and looking for decent resources, you're all too busy running destroy missions and sucking the life out of mission terminals, right?
since you are all so grand, and you all know everything, why don't you explain the immense improbability that you have the power to master a combat profession, AND hunt down decent materials at the same time? OH!!! I GOT IT!!!
you must all be about 16 years old, living with mommy and daddy, without any bills to pay, and with no job!!!
whew... i'm glad i figured that one out. if you don't have a job, and spend 18 hours a day on SWG, you can master both weaponsmith AND pistoleer. or whatever.
neat trick.
I read your bios. when i see the story arc badges on there, i know you wasted a little time on those as well. while you were all hunting Kimos on Lok, I was looking for resources. while you were all shouting in the streets to get a sale (hehe.... merchant skills....) i was looking for more resources, and setting up harvesters. while you were all grinding faction XP in anchorhead, I was crafting items and placing them on the bazaar. it's amazing.
heck. I've only sold a few pistols. but i've given a ton of em away. newbies shout in the street for a used pistol or rifle. i give em one. they use it for a bit, then they end up selling it or giving it away. wash, rinse, repeat.
You know, even if i don't pull this off, which i probably won't. At least i'll have gotten to master weaponsmith with a little respect. I will be the only weaponsmith who didn't sit in front of a crafting station all day grinding barrels. I'll have earned my XP the way it was intended. with use xp.
Most of you probably don't know what that is, so i'll remind you.
Use xp comes from whenever an item you've created is used. pretty hard concept, eh? yeah.... i understand. it's okay if you don't get it.
in simple terms, it means you don't have to grind 1 million barrels to get weaponsmith the fastest. You just make what you can, and convince people to use it. that's all.
now, i know blah blah blah that you are all master weapon crafting ninjas, and loyalty and blah blah blah, but i gotta tell ya, when i get that much money, and that much xp in just a day, without just grinding with some stupid macro......
....you gotta wonder where the loyalty line is drawn. now, you might mistake loyalty for friendship. sure, you can have a loyal customer that enjoys buying from you because you craft superior items at affordable prices. that's loyalty.
friendship is when you send out emails saying "please don't use so and so's weapons. She's trying to put us all out of business!!!" that's friendship.
i'm 100% sure that at least 5 of you have already sent out your "WARNING!! COMPETITION!!!" emails. good for you. you got those merchant skills way under control!!!
maybe you didn't realize it at first, because it wasn't right in your face, but this thread is basically one huge flame for all you weaponsmiths out there. I'm having as much fun watching you defend your self respect, as i do watching people run to me to get weapons. I know, I know, it's not supposed to work.... People are supposed to go to the tried and true weaponsmiths, right? the ones who got weaponsmith in the first week, and decided "Oooh!!! now i'm the master!!! I can charge what i like!!!"
whenever one of you posts here, i know that deep down inside, you know you are a sad little roleplayer. sure, flame that one. please!!! i'm begging you to!!! that way i know exactly who this statement applies to.
the ones who flame me... i know how you feel. I mean really feel. it's okay, you can respond to that with sarcasm or flaming. it's allowed, i think....
but i know you sit there, in front of your computer, grinding barrel, after barrel, after barrel. then you qualify for a skill. so you run out in the middle of town screamin "CAN ANYONE TEACH ME INTERMEDIATE FIREARMS CRAFTING?". then you get your skill, but you're kinda bored with grinding, so you pick up the last weapon you just made, and you decide to run a couple destroy missions. you get a few credits, then you chat for a bit. then you log. the next day, you do the whole thing over again. finally, you got master weaponsmith. but you have no idea what you are doing, because the whole time, you maybe used 15 of your schematics. maybe 18 at the most, so you gotta keep checking the resources to make sure you're using the right ones. you start to get the hang of it. so you look around a bit to see what people are looking for. you get a few tells asking for particular weapons. the popular ones. FWG5's, T21's, VK's.... so on.. so you start mass producing those. then, eventually, you are out screaming "SELLING T21'S, BLAH BLAH BLAH, PST!!!" and a few people respond, checking the price, and you manage to sell about 2-3.
so, you get tired of doing THAT all day, so you put a vendor in your house. now, you're sales are great near Anchorhead, Bestine, and Moenia. Maybe Theed and Keren do alright as well. Coronet might be able to keep up for a bit.. you sell maybe 40-50. then business kinda peters out. so your back in the streets, screaming again. you join a guild. they help you out by using your weapons. but you've already got the XP you need. so you don't care about who uses them. all you care about is how much money is in your pocket. but you end up having money. at least some. so you focus less on selling or crafting weapons, and more on your pistoleer skills. you build em up. you get used to crafting one type of weapon, which just happens to be the one you are using. You manage to pop out a real Uber weapon once in awhile. you keep 2-3 on you just in case.
then, you are no longer a weaponsmith. you're a pistoleer with weaponsmith skills. It's not about hunting down resources, or evenly distributing your experimentation points, or finding the best combination of chems and minerals. It's about how close you are to beating the game.
I know that's how you feel. you don't have to say it, and you won't. or if you do, it'll be in some real sarcastic way, or with some insult or cruel remark. that's okay too. we all went to high school. or maybe some of you are still looking foreward to that.
But it's the truth, whether you want to admit it or not.
now, you probably weren't raised to admit when you are wrong, or when you are lying. so i won't ask any of you to do that.
if i'm no worry to you, ignore me. but obviously you won't do that, because you realize you are speaking with a REAL crafter. one who didn't just get engineering 4 and went straight to weaponsmith. i mastered artisan before even THINKING about becoming a weaponsmith.
anyway.... blah blah blah.(insert flame here) but i hope you at least understand that i'm sure none of you had made two first tier skills without grinding. that may not mean much to the kiddies, but it means alot to me. it means that people are actually using MY weapons. and THAT's how i get my XP.
have fun.
remember, before you flame, IT'S JUST A GAME!!! don't take it too seriously!!

Haha. You know what, I also played beta. You know what beta didn't have? Working harvesters. Oh, and factories. And resource shifts. And pretty much 80% of everything in the Weaponsmith tree either did not work or could not be crafted. And missions only paid a few cr, the best payout you could get would be running these 150cr delivery missions back and forth through outposts on remote planets, or back and forth through Rori. There were no huge 20k destroy missions, no baz nitches, none of that. We were FedEx employees, through and through.
Your friends having 20k of some crap grind-level copper from a newbie planet does not mean a thing. Your friends opening their survey tools on newbie planets once every few weeks does not mean a thing. When they go to Yavin4, run 3km from the nearest outpost and place harvesters on the most valuable Doonium your server has ever seen, that no one outside of the most dedicated Weaponsmiths knew about and do so 3-4 times a week, then we'll see who is dedicated. But in the meantime, no one is going to bother wasting their time being your slave, spending well over 20k every day to check every single planet (including remote) for new weapon resources, tracking them down, shoving out fistfuls of cash for HMIs with no return payout. Frankly, they have their own businesses to take care of and are going to tell you they're not going to be your babysitters.
There are one of these "I don't agree with X, so I'm going to bea Weaponsmith because it's so easy" posts every week. You know what always, always happens? A week later, they come back with a huge whine about how this profession is so hard and that SOE needs to "fix it" or else they'll quit the game. Take a look around, everyone is laughing at you for a good reason.
Let him do it. He'll be broke in a week. Just from harvester and factory maintainance and power costs.
You wont last long doing that mate. Two words for ya... burn out
I tried going the cheap route to drum up business. Ya know what, it works like a champ. Only one problem, you better be prepared to have 3-5 factories chuggin along, about a dozen tells an hour and spend all your time looking for resources and restocking a vendor. I finally got so sick of it I doubled all my prices accross the board. Did my business slow down? YES!! thankfullt, but strangely, I make more money now. Bottom line, you will get sick of it quickly.
If your sole reaon for doing this is for revenge... might wanna try something else. Yu will only be punishing yourself, and the older masters will enjoy watching you flail.
i like the 20k grind-level copper statement. that was funny. so, appparently you cant read too well.
i'll say it again, just for you little people.
That IS their business. their purpose is to find resources for me. We got master archies who put up large harvesters over this stuff. we got money. lots of money. i'm trying to type this in simple statements so you understand. I think we're the only people who can find crappy grind-level Desh copper with 991 OQ and 979 Conductivity. that helps quite a bit with components.
but maybe you're right, and all my resources are actually crap, but they just show up as really awesome on MY screen.....
i should lay off the spice.
Hehe gee this is getting better and better. Plz keep us updated
.
I will be checking this thread att least 1 time each day.
I wait whit comments or flames for now.
over and out. beeeeeeeep

Orion - If you are indeed seeing a therapist for anger problems, I don't think this game is for you at this point.
Assuming you're being completely honest with your posts thus far, I think you honestly need to do something a little more relaxing. You seem to be having trouble putting this into perspective. You're going to be pouring hours into this game not because it's fun, but out of spite. That's no way to give up your free time.
I'm on Starsider and this guy has me worried, I'm afraid everyone from my server will jump ship and start a toon over there. Thanks for the heads up man, I'm selling all my resources, harvesters, house, factories. EVERYTHING MUST GO, EVERYTHING!!!
P.S. I did get a chuckle when I read the post....Hehe.
