Thread: Warning to weaponsmiths on the Ahazi Server
9000 barrels of grinding to go, 9000 barrels O' beer... Grind one down, toss it out, 8999 barrels O' grinding to grind!
My vendor is low on FWG5's right now. So if you could please sell me a crate of them at 500 credit a pop, you'd make my day
Oh, make sure they're at least200 damage, unsliced.
-Apathy (Ahazi)
Ha! that is funny.
Well maybe in the coming weeks you will begin to understand how difficult it is to become a good weaponsmith. Your resources will suck in comparison to all the established weaponsmiths, and frankly, so will your weapons....also, after this little post no weaponsmith on ur server will want to help you out either.
Like most people have said on this thread already, you won't change the economy. You'll just succeed in wasting your own time and enjoyment of the game. Why won't you change the economy?
Because believe it or not, you actually need quite a bit of money to maintain a steady output of weapons. Harvester maintainance and resource purchases all add up you know! Not to mention the time put into actually finding these resources and crafting the weapons in the first place. Then of course you have factory costs......house and vendor costs.....any good weaponsmith would also have a droid for crafting in the field....and a personal crafting station. I take it you won't be buying krayt tissue as you will be broke all the time.....so...thats another massive disadvantage.
Added to that the time it actually takes to answer every friggin' /tell that you get sent. I swear I average about3 tells per minute from different players.
So yeah, basically you are in for a VERY hard time my friend ![]()
Even if you do sell weapons at 500 credits each......you will have a VERY poor volume of weapons for sale, and hence your desired impact on the economy will in reality be similar to me selling....I dunno.....5 bicycles at 1 dollar each in an attempt to crash the US car manufacturing industry!
So, do the sensible thing......stop throwing your toys outta your pram....and just try and enjoy the game the way it is ![]()

ROFL , he has no clue that with a 60k a day operating cost he is going to have to sell 120k weapons per day at those prices!
No problem. At those prices, I'll buy 50. Now he only needs to sell 199,950 per day.
Yikes... just yikes...
This idiot won't last a month. You know.. the first thing about his post that's really hilarious is that he says that in the marksmen tree, he couldn't afford the next weapon he was certified in.
So what, that's like Scout, DL44, Power5, FWG5, etc..? (addressing just pistols here)
Not counting Krayt enhanced pistols.. the price of each of these would range from 2k to maybe... 20k, give or take a few.
How can someone NOT afford that? Doing just mission terminal mission on starting planets, you can easily make 25k in an hour (survey missions).
I hope he tried this.. and sustains it for a month or two. He'll hate the game soo much by then.. and obviously, he's a man easily consumed by hatered.. I mean, to go to this extreme just to get back at 200+ nameless weaponcrafters!... IT'S JUST A GAME!
Hey OrionSeven, I have a thought. Could you go Weaponsmith/Armorsmith becuase we could really use help onthe Armorsmithside too. Then I can just use you like a wholesaler. It will be awesome you can make +50% Advanced Composite and sell it for like 30k and I can buy it all up and re-sell it. Sure I will take your advanced composite and re-sell for a large profit but its ok cause you will have shown all those money hungry Weaponsmith/Armorsmiths up. Also can you hurry up?
Oh yea baby it will be like the old X-Corp days with people lined up outside. Then we will fling the doors open and bamb we will sell out in like 30 seconds. Then when after a few weeks staight of becoming one with your personal crafting station. We can take a night off and go hunting or somthing.....ohhhh except you know the "xyz" resource spawned and you have to move 10 harvsters from Rori to Naboo. Everyoneelse in your guild got to go Krayt hunting and you got to move 10 harvesters and answer 100 tells about various weaponsmith topic's. But its okbecuasenotonly did you get to move them but you got to dump close to 100,000 cr and and power into themalso.Itsgoing to takea lot of those 500 crFWG5's to make that up.
Ok, on a more serious note. OrionSeven have you possibly noticed that there are fewer active crafters in the game today then there was 2 months ago? Do you possibly think there is a reason for this? You can make the arguement that we all made our HUGE cash and closed up shop but I think a closer look might revel that its very difficult to be a Master Weaponsmith/Armorsmith. Any of the crafting professions that rely on quality of materals isextreemlytime consuming. I can not tell you the number of times I have logged in to do one quick thing and then head out with friends and 5 hours later I am done. Except well it's 2 AM and I have to get some sleep.
I guess all I would ask is this. Please let keep us updated. Let us know which masters you have punished and forced to lower their prices. Keep us updated on your cash flow, etc. We will all be here waiting for your status report.
On a side note I am also considering going Weaponsmith but opposed to you I am very concerned that I will even be able to compete once I make Master Weaponsmith.
Man, I wish Orion was on Corbantis. Then I could just buy his guns and resell them. I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of grinding to MWS, or running around finding good resources or pray that some rare resource will pop up in the next shift so that I can finally be somewhat competitive with established masters. Heck,he could do all the work and I could make all the money and devote my skill points into something else, like politician when it goes live. ![]()

i'm going to do this guy a favor and break down the actual cost of making a top of the line fwg5 on this server
1.7 62-213 stats
ok
Gun:
30 units of Foneine Doonium Iron (costs around 80 - 100 cr/unit nowif you can even find any) - 2400 cr
15 units Goliam Carbonite Steel ( 80-100 cr/unit if you can even find any) - 1200 cr
6 units of Opek Kelsh Copper (40-50 cr/unit) - 240 cr
Power Handler:
8 units of Trimuellidine Phrik Alum (100+ cr/unit but good luck finding any) - 800 cr
5 units Togap/Leri Diatium Copper (40-50 cr/unit)- 200 cr
5 units Aheg Ostrine Carbonate Ore ( 40-50 cr/unit) - 200 cr
10 units Durovepa Polymer (60-80 cr/unit) -600 cr
16 units Propipoone Irolunn Gas (3-4 cr/unit (currently in-cycle)) - 64 cr
Projectile Pistol Barrel:
29 units Aveni Duralloy Steel - (15-20 cr/unit) - 435 cr
17 Units Distapfoite Plumbum Iron - (25-30 cr/unit) - 425 cr
Projectile Feed Mechanism:
20 units Moesofiva Quad Steel - (15-20 cr/unit) - 300 cr
12 units Trisowhatever Axidite Iron - (6-10 cr/unit (only a week or so out of cycle)) - 72 cr
total - 6936 Cr
This is not taking into account crit fails or the number of attempts it takes to get that pefect schematic. Not to mention the factory upkeep and power costs. and the fact this # has zero profit in it. To bitch about someone charging 8k for this gun its rediculous as at 8k the weaponsmith isn't making enough profit for this to even be worth his time.
So next time before you go off on a rightous tangent, take the time to actually be informed of what you are ranting about.
As much as disagree with the orginial poster... any established weaponsmith that paid that much is either off their rocker... or EXTREMELY nice to their suppliers. Considering how much you have to stockpile on resources,I doubt any actual weaponsmiths paid sums like that... Err... well, its very possible that they did so on a few of the items.
actually atock...yup we do. reasoning being if you want to keep on top of the game we have to fork out the bucks.
Got to remember that some of that amazing ore..the phrik, goliam steel, foenine doonium iron...etc. shifted in WAY back...when heavy's where NON-existant...mediums where extremely rare...everything done by personals. The amount stocked piled was not like it is now....where you can easily stockpile 100-300k. resource miners where not selling the volume they are now. it was still new and fresh...we all where not masters or just became masters.
So for some of that stuff it is the best that ever shifted in...and if you want to stay the best...you got to pay for it. Heck i am advertising right now to pay 100cpu for goliam and foenine ....or else when i run out....i am out of business till someting equivalent comes. i just don't want to sell guns with 20 less dmg becaues these resournces where not used....yes it makes that much difference!!!
Hmm i think that this post was meant for 1st april. Otherwise he would replied or something.
But hey if you real thingthen plz make master Ws/As on each server.
i would love to resell your guns and get some more free time.

I have the mental picture of him chained to a public crafting station, dressed in rags and muttering to himself.

wow, i had so much fun reading all of those!!! to think, all these people care so much to reply to this!!! and i thought no one would care.....
well, a few issues......
1) i got 3 guildmembers who do nothing but hunt down resources. they were burned the same way. Some guilds like hunting, some like PvP. Ours likes business. wow. so, the resource thing is under control. we have about 550 lots availabe, after housing and so forth. We've got 4 architects, 2 other armorsmiths (1 master), and a few BH, marksmen, so forth to get the money we need.
2) If you didn't care, you wouldn't post.
3) I'm sorry i'm not one of those players who feels the need to rape mission terminals to enjoy the game. when i had my marksman, i earned my XP while exploring and having the REAL fun. hehe. i get a kick outta the terminal junkies. you guys crack me up.... i hope you all get away from the terminals for awhile and actually look around. I was one of the lucky ones who got to see alot of interesting things while you all were just killing durni's and gnorts for 1k per mission, or crafting rifle barrels because you were scared of the idea of UXP. poor children.....
4) I don't really care about the merchants. have fun. it's the weaponsmiths i'm after. and for you select few weaponsmiths who also have merchant skills, well, i don't really think you exist, otherwise i would have had an easier time finding a pistol. hehe, merchants...... lemme think about the last merchant i saw..... OH YEAH!!! he was the guy shouting "Selling Small Tatooine house for 40k for the next 2 minutes. PST!!!!" in the middle of Anchorhead. Merchant skills at their best, right? gimme a break..... if anyone had merchant skills, i'm sure I would see alot more vendors on the overhead maps. There are maybe 2 weapons vendors on Corellia right now, right? maybe 3? by the way, i don't really care about the money, see. but as for buying them and selling them..... sell them to who? to the people who already got one for free? i think you underestimate things a bit. You know, in Beta, tipping a medic more than 50 credits for wound heals was unheard of. Now, medics are irritated if they don't get about 200-1k. talk about inflation.
5) My FSCS isn't unlocked yet. yeah, i'm one of the idiots who bought this game to play a Jedi. so, until it's unlocked, i got nothing better to do with my time other than make stuff and sit around. I got a carbineer on another server. done just about every theme park. except the Emperors.(i don't like imps very much, lol.) so, blah blah blah, waste of time, blah blah blah. hey, I'm just passing time until i can make a Jedi. nothing wrong with that, right?
6) thanks for the flames. It's fun seeing people feed off their emotions. Makes me wonder what they are like in real life. If someone says something they don't like, do they start screaming in the middle of McDonalds, and throwing their Big Macs? Flamers remind me of three year olds that throw their food across the room because they don't like spinach. But i'm not they type of guy who get's irritated on forums. I'll never meet any of you, so your negative opinions are just a waste of your own time. but hey, we all gotta vent, right?
7) ooooh. the classic "It's a GAME!!!" statement. This is always one of my favorites. I never get tired of reading that in posts. I've been trying to get a feel for the kind of people who use that remark. As of now, I think those are the people who Grind XP, as if getting master in a profession is the end of the game.... Or maybe the kind of people who have always been pretty good at PvP, and they say it to noobs who get mad at dying. hehe, cute story: I have a Doc on another server. I guess i healed the wrong person at the wrong time, cuz i got a TEF, and some guy shot me dead while i was at a crafting station, making more wound packs. well, I lost about 1k worth of resources, and when i told him that he was a fool for shooting an unarmed medic who was crafting (you know, big thing on your screen, you got no idea what's going on around you... you know. crafting.) he said "quit whining, it's a game!!!!" well, he's the kind of person who sits in a city and grinds faction XP. you know, a power gamer. the kind of person who thinks that SWG is a playstation game, and if he kills enough people, he'll get to see the end credits. hehe. well, yeah. It's a GAME!!! I'll say that right back. you shouldn't take it so seriously. I think you should pick up a profession where you won't feel the need to "pause" your game, and read the forums, just in case you might miss an opportunity to flame someone. hmmm. how about image designer?
8) I don't get bored with games. only with other people. in another 3 months, i'll still be crafting stuff. since people are pretty greedy and unfriendly, i tend to treat other players as if they were computer controlled NPC's. Then, it makes things a little easier. Then, i can sit and think about what i want to do without depending on someone to do it with me. I've done most of the stuff in this game on my own. FYI, you CAN solo Krayt dragons.... all you gotta do is think about more than kiting or tanking...
9) "SELLING SMALL TATOOINE HOUSE FOR 40K FOR THE NEXT 2 MINUTES!! PST!!" hehe.... merchants....
so, what have i covered?
resources, time, fun-factor, environment, socializing, grinding XP, sales, money, merchants (hehe, every time i think about that profession, it makes me laugh....), power-gaming.
oh.... i knew i forgot something......
i AM seeing a psychiatrist about my frustration and anger problems. she said that this was a very good alternative to throwing my monitor across the room over a game. and she wishes me luck. I have to see her every teusday and thursday at 8. she's a wonderful lady.
have fun....
