What took you so long to say that? I hope you said it in the correspndent forum as well...thats the first thing I have heard you say on this that makes sense, thanks for agreeing with me...to an extent atleast.

In that 9-page-long thread, all I did was provide a justification for why the Developers would have done this, just like I did in this thread, because it was asked. People were questioning why they could have done thisto them and I provided possible explanations. That doesn't mean I don't think the way they went about it was right, but I do feel they did have a reason behind doing it. It wasn't just five guys sitting at a round-table trying to decide the best way to piss off Weaponsmiths, which would probably warrant throwing in the towel. They probably thought it was a measure that they needed to take for the better of the game. However, some folk read that as "personal bias getting in the way of your job" and such nonsense, when it wasn't. I just felt that there was probably a good reason they had for doing this when everyone else assumed they had no reason. That does not mean I am conspiring against you, I am just promoting alternative discussion that many people might have overlooked in the situation.

Some sort of free Holocron or something should have appeared in your inventory though, at the very least. But as I said, this issue is made even more pertinent when the looted schematic thing is brought into consideration, with the idea that "they did it once, they can do it again." Neither of these problems are a low-priority for me, in fact, I think the Developers are aware of both of them. It's just a matter of them taking five minutes out to post and say, "Hey, this is what's going to happen." If it's not responded to in the next couple of days, I'll post another post in the new Pipeline thread and a separate new thread requesting they look at the damn post already and give me an answer.

The problem is, from the very get-go... is that you stuck us with a "tuff deal with it" mentality. I am sure by now it goes without saying you could have worded your response better, nad I am not gonna pick on you about that. Like I said on the orignail 9 page thread...nad you can pull up my posts and quote me...you have the right to you opinion. But you also have to represent the people who don't agree with your opinion. My point is you seem pretty calm , you ste somethign an move on...if it was something that directly effected you , and you weren't the correspondent and you read what I did this afternoon would you be ok with it? Now before you hammer out a reply...read over the forum and come back again....pick a wea[on you lik eto make...somthing you are proud of...then imagine bam it's changed...how would you feel?

I read every post here, and was unable to come up with a clear and concise answer to my question:

Has the issue with the pre-nerf weapons not being able to taken out of crates been addressed in the corr. forums? Regardless of whether or not they have responded yet, I think all of us would feel better if we know you asked.

Second... I leave politeness to other people. I seek results.

Third... I am not over the crate issue...nor are the smiths who are affected by it. Because it isn't over yet.

1. Logix is a she....thats great....without getting all preechy I think it's great that more females are taking leadership roles both in and outside of the box. (The box being the game FYI)

2. Sure the squeeky wheel gets the most grease. Being an ass howeveris hardly an effective communication strategy. You have a point and you stated it then you decided to state that Logix was a slackass because you were tired of mincing words. The tone of the post was generally negative to start with. The results thus far have been to irritate myself, probably Logix and a number of people that don't share your view point which is very self centered to begin with.

3. The crate issue should have been dealt with when the guns were nerfed. You've had 3 months to sell these broken guns but no most of the folks that massproduced them and hoarded them. If they were on your vendor right now would you really even care ? This is a great time to be a new master smith. Finally we will have an opportunity to compete against what has been an uneven playing field in a market that has been biased by a weapon that should have never been in the first place.

Wow, this huge filibuster, although thoroughly entertaining, leaves me with but one thing to say. What is it that you guys are talking about? I have a hard time seeing the arguement here besides wanting to slander the correspondant. Half this thread was you two, Reldun and Logix, arguing back and forth, and I'm not entirely sure if either of you knew what you were arguing about. What purpose did this thread server other than to waste our correspondants already limited time to voice the weaponsmiths real issues?

These are obviously rhetorical questions. Move on people lets get back to business

A lot of you people seem to forget being a master smith didn't just become available a month ago, some of us have been around for a good long time working our asses off, and we deserve the same amount of time that the new smiths do who cry about how they can't sell a gun.

Reldun, you views are important to us all, but holding up our corsp. in a thinly veiled flame war isn't going to help get any of our issues resolved an faster. The devs will not repsond any faster than they have time to allocate. They compile issues, respond with a acknowledgment of the issue (if they can, read: have time), discuss the issue internaly to find a resolution, post a public response (again if they can find the time), work in a fix (see the thing about time).

Seems a bit condecending, but I'm just trying to make a point. The correspondant is here to filter the most pertinant issue and see to it that the devs have adequate awarness of the issue. They can't do that if all they recieve is a barrage of minor issues and reiterations.

I tend to disagree.

First of all this is a full on flame war. The difference is, is that it is done the right way. Did you know there was about 160 views on this thread just people checking stars before anyone besides me or Logix posted? Secondly, I really do not care what sexual gender Logix is...it does not reflect in how they(if you are more comftoable with that) does thier job.

I can tell where this thread is going to go about 30-40 posts from now and I apologize to Logix right now. I like to make glib comments like the rest of you and I can see already how that has somehow become an issue.

Bottom line, Logix slacked, I am hoping I have lit enough of a fire under them to get the job done....that is probably inflammatory..oh well.

Being a new weaponsmith, I am unaffected by this, but I thought I'd weigh in after reading it all.

1. You can't just bug the devs over and over and overuntil they do something. Most of the time, that gets you ignored really really fast. I think Logix has it right waiting for a response. If she were to demand one over and over, it would either A. make it longer in coming or B. make the devs much less likely to listen to anything she says in the future or C. both A and B.

2. If she did take a stance along the lines of "you guys will have to deal with this", it's probably because that is the one truth here. No matter what you say or do, the devs will make their decision based on the information presented to them. Your excessive buying of prenerf FWGs won't sway them. Your arguments won't. The arguments ofevery other weaponsmith, including our correspondant, won't. Their decision is final, so all affected will have to deal with it. Just like those of us (including me) who have characters with 2 combat profs will have to deal with the defenses not stacking. If you can't handle it, quit. I can see where they could have repaid you in some way for the inconvenience. Other than that, they are doing the right thing for game balance.

3. On the issue of all this loot being better than what we make....I don't like it, but I understand it. If all the components you needed for advanced parts and advanced guns spawned regularly with great stats, we would have everyone runing around with uber weapons and there woud be no balance whatsoever. You have to wait it out, check for good resources every so often, and get the best you can. Becoming a master isn't the hard part, it's tracking down those really good resources and getting them while you can. I was lucky and fell into a lot of great materials, but I am constantly on the lookout for better, hopping planets and just opening up survey tools to see if anything useful may have spawned. Uber loot is great and all, but I'd rather go out and get some good materials I can rely on.
