I guess it's a bit like 'a pair of jeans'. I've never seen anybody but a one-legged man wear a 'Jean'

I'm a wookie working towards TKA and im on unarmed 4...I've been reading all the posts i can about the profession. CAN TWO VKs be used at once? Twice i have found posts referring to VK's as sets of VK's...Are these posters just using confusing grammar? I would go try this out myself, but I dont have time to log in and go find another good VK...Thanks for the help.

Nope, can't dual-wield VKs yet. Could be happening in the future, though I suspect Pistoleers will get that privelege first.

On a side note, it is always cool to see a wookie elite brawler. It seems to play on a wookie's strengths and help to mitigate their weaknesses (armor) somewhat.

I see a lot of wookie marksman out there and they always have to suffer a lot more than their mates in any given battle.

I also see a lot of imperial wookie marksmen, so they are facing a lot of penalties and disadvantages every way they turn.

you want to find something over 200 max damage if you can... 50 -200 + server prices vary on vks though, but i can see them going from around 60k to a few million credits for some of the insanely high damage vks

On Lowca I find unsliced normal VKs (147 max damage, something like that) for no more than 16k.

I find sliced with 180 max damage for 50k.

Unfortuanetly, I've been completely unable to find anything better anywhere else. I probably just haven't found a good vendor yet, but that's it.

However, the cost of weapons for TK truly are minimal. As rifleman I was going through T21s all the time, and each one cost 80k or more. Plus if my vk breaks, I can still kill people.

I generally consider any VK with a max damage over 190 to be good (sliced, no powerup).

Anything over 200 is generally a pretty good VK, and anything over 230 is pretty uber.

I believe that the highest damage you can get with a crafted VK without a loot component is 147. If you were to luck out and actually get a 35% damage slice on it, you'd end up with a 198 max damage VK. That means that you need a Nym or Nightsister motor to get a VK over 200 points. To suggest that a VK is only good if you make it with a looted component is unrealistic.

New players, don't listen to the people who say that you have to have over 200 damage in a VK for it to be "good". That's unfair and unrealistic. Really, 180 or more is ok, 190 or more is the best you can hope for without paying serious cash.

I am a MTK now and I believe that at the lower levels it's more important to have a fast VK rather than a powerful VK. Attacking faster will cause more damage because if you take into account you hit between the min and max dam (I, having terrible luck, always expect it to be low) Therefor I went for speed VK.

However as your speed in the profession changes you can change to a higher dam VK as your melee speed has been significantly boosted.

Just my opinnion.

My VK is 1.7 sliced I believe for speed.

Look into it.

Aspeed sliced VK is the best until you hit power tech 4. At this level your unarmed speed will be 100, which means you're speed capped with any VK.

After that point throw away your speed sliced VK and look for a damage sliced one. 180-195 max damage VKs are pretty easy to find, and I don't expect them to be expensive. And you'lldopretty goodwith those.
