Im almost done doing unarmeed IV, and i have read about non TKA using VK in combat. Does this actually work? Or is there some sort of benefit? I tried to use one and i was doing real low damage. Thanks in advance!

The benefit lies in the greater speed (ideally your knucklers should be around 2.0 - below that if they're sliced). Even if you're not certified in them, the weapon speed still applies to you. Sure, you'll do less damage, but you'll hit a lot faster, so it tends to even out. More than that, actually; at Unarmed 4 (very close to TKN now) for me the damage reduction on the knucklers isn't that big - maybe around 20% at most as compared to fighting without them, but I hit twice as fast.

The way that worked well for me was equipping the speed sliced VKs (should be sub 2.0 speed), and use berserk. You get a bump in damage and fast speed, without the HAM cost of spamming specials.

Trying to decide what is a high end VK. Atm I have a
Spd: 1.5
Dmg: 47/185
Wod: 30%

Dont remember Hams off top of my head but if you will post your stats if you got better ... and if possible what was used to make it.

screw the speed, at TKM it really doesnt matter, 99% of the time i dont use VK's.......but when i do i have a set of i think 42-212 ones.........havent used them in a while so i forget...... looted vibro unit with nice damage slice.

If you want to use some then have a weaponsmith make a set fully experimented for efficiency to reduce the HAM.

I only use them on armored opponents for the AP1

I use looted VKs because they have super low ham costs, lower than the weaponsmiths can craft I think. But in all reality I rarely use them. In PvP if I'm fighting someone with super high kinetic armor use them but most of the time it's not necessary.

lol, as a master I ALWAYS use VKs. Get some buffs and some food, and you can spam unarmed hit 3 all day long.

forgot to mention, I use a pair of 1.8 - 47/198 VKs. Just get the best ones you can afford. Having 5 or 10 more damage isnt a whole lot better. Prices start getting stupidly high after about 200 damage. Invest in food and drink.

Alright perhaps I am total and COMPLETE moron here but I am looking for the best way to grind this profession. I have read most of the latest posts and faqs and almost all of them say get a speed sliced VK. Great, NP I love to buy speed sliced stuff, however If I am not a novice Tk why would I do that seeing as I wouldnt have the certification for it? Am I missing something or didnt I see you cant use a VK until you hit novice TK? If I did see this then why wouldI buy one before I hit novice TK? Can someone clear this up for me?

Also can someone recommend the best way to do this? I got 73% ubese, I got lvl c doctor buffs, I got moun and pixies and VBrandy. I can buff myself and heal myself. I got a good engineered lvl 9 non-ch pet, I got a probot or whatever else. Should I go kill cu-pas or sykes? Should I go to endor? or LOK?

Thanks to whoever replies in advance.

although you dont have the cert for the VK's..........your attack speed will change to that on the VK's, thus about twice as fast. put on the armor and buff yourself, food and spice wont be needed. use berserk 24/7 until novice.

As for what to kill, i prefer Scyks on tatooine. Make sure you are grouped with something, droid or pet for the added exp.

Ahh thanks...I thought about it after i posted and decided it must have been the confusing grammar....i think that they thought a set of vibro knuckles abbreviated [VK's] (set of VK's)
It's called a vibroknuckler ....i think. It would be cool to dual wield pistols...but two vibroknucklers would do soo00o much more damage.
