Thread: Good News! But some concern with whats on the TC at the moment....
I sent Tiggs a PM regarding this post - hopefully she will take a look and pass on the info to the correct team there....
I mean its only on the TC at the moment, and so its not all confirmed yet. But best to raise it now before it goes to live.

here is our conversation on tarq about this. some interesting input from a from launch entertainer concerning stacking the buffs in there as well.

This new feature is to benefit the newer less experianced crafter who may not have the resources for the best item. I would think the cap is still i place and those who are capped will remain so and the lesser crafters will have the gap narrowed to be able to compete with the oldtimers.
Just an fyi, SOE is making a solid effort to do away with the mass produced crafting. It's just a matter of time before we hear "I remember when we have weaponsmiths who custom built our weapons..."
If the cap is still there then the gap will be closed not narrowed.

Actually, truth be told, I'm not a launch entertainer (I started Oct '03). There's still a lot of unknowns about how the buffs will work/be applied. There's a lot of discussion in the dancer and musician forums about this as well. Those correspondents are working hard to determine exactly how these buffs are working on TC.
I highly encourage any crafters to please head over to TC, hook up with an entertainer and help us figure out how this works. Thanks.
dont look at this ONLY from a weaponsmith perspective when discussing the caps. they dont apply elsewhere.
everything that is crafted basicallycan be100 percent experimented now, and it is much easier to do since you only need to get within 90 percent of the resources relevant stat caps. this is not good. its wow crafting.

Where you see a nerf with existing weapons I see a whole new market. Yes the older bulk weapons will not be as good. But most of those are used for grinding anyways, that's why you can make and sell bulk. But what I see now, is the big spenders that spend a few million credits on a weapon and slap an ADK on it, now see thier weapon as no longer the best. So now they come back to the WS and ask for a new weapon that's even better. Same with the BH loot, as soon as this stuff came out, fighters had to have the latest and greatest, so they bought better weapons and treashed the old one to get the ADk back.Yeah their will be some down side to this, but I see another spike in high end weapon sales... but then again it could just be my niativity on the matter.
Means that any resources currently past 91% will be made equal.

This sounds like another one of those ideas that the devs haven't thought through all the way, like ADK's, resource kits and the new bounty hunter missions. Am I going to need an entertainer alt now to make sure I can get one of these buffs whenever I need it? It sounds like this is going to be one of those "must have" buffs if you are a serious crafter. The ramifications will be huge and, I suspect, not very good for the game--just another way to dumb down crafting.

Not to pick a fight, but I am. The New BH missions are very thought out. And very fun. And the loots we get keep us coming back to you or to an AS for weapons or armor.
The right thing wouldn't be to screw over BH because they finally got something good; the right thing would be to give everyone something as good as the new BH missions.
(then again, I am well aware of how the old Coordinator here tried to poison everyone on the new BH missions, so seeing his attitude on a few WS's in here isn't surprising....)
Please understand the options:
1) This 10% Entertainer bonus
2) Devs implement Resource Decay ( which they have talked about) to kill off the resource hoarding.
Which of these two options would you find more platable.
The fact is that your uber resources will become closer to perfection under this system.
Yes we will have some inferior items left on our vendors. We can handle that like we did after the CU, discount them a little and get rid of them making way for new stock.
