Thread: Good News! But some concern with whats on the TC at the moment....

Well looking on the TC it seems that entertainershave finally been given some love. They are going to be able to give profession specificcrafter buffs that will give a bonus to amongst other things... resource quality. (up to 10% improvement on resource quality when crafting from what I have read)


I think its great that entertainers are getting some attention, and a resource quality bonus buffwould be very cool. I am not trying to moan about the improvements and changes.


However, my concern..... what about those WS who have hundreds or thousands of weapons stocked on their vendors already.... made with the best resources on the server -and suddenly the best resources just got 10% better.


*Edit* And an additional point brought to light - what about those of us who have spent months or even years collecting the best resources on the server... ifexperimenting still cap at 100% what benifit will they get from anything over 90%?


Anyone else see a potential problem?

Yes, I can see the problem. The only reason that it won't effect me is, I stopped doing bulk runs. Only do loot made, or when a guildie or friend needs something specific. I am looking forward to the specific buffs, lord knows I don't have any good quality green diamond crystal gemstone.

what if every resource we use is within 10 percent of every stat category cap that matters?


will these buffs suddenly make everything able to be 100 percent experimented?


not just that... any resource within 10 percent of the stat caps will suddenly become the 'best' on the server for all intended purposes.


very interesting and broad economic ramifications on this one.

Hrm, means the stuff with more than 91% experimentation will go to 100%? making anything past 91% useless?

This sounds like another one of those ideas that the devs haven't thought through all the way, like ADK's, resource kits and the new bounty hunter missions. Am I going to need an entertainer alt now to make sure I can get one of these buffs whenever I need it? It sounds like this is going to be one of those "must have" buffs if you are a serious crafter. The ramifications will be huge and, I suspect, not very good for the game--just another way to dumb down crafting.

What I want to know is, what about all the time people have invested in colecting the best of the best resources


This will once again dumb down the complexity of our profession.


Personally I have spend 1½ year collecting the very best resources on my server. Nowa new smith can do the same in just 10 mins by listening to an Entertainer....(I know that exagerated, but I believe you get my drift).


Im all for the Entertainers getting content, but its needs to be something that wont hurt other professions like this.


I think it might be time for crafters to stand together to adress our conserns over this one, srely Archis, Chefs, armoursmiths and DE's will have similar objections

HA! What a freaking joke this is. Why not just take resource statsout of the game and have everyone craft the same stat weapon? I think it is heading that way anyways. I mean look at the way it is now.. Weapon caps is the first step. 10 percent resource increase is the second step. Next step ? The profession aspect of this game is losing its flavor to dumbing down of skills and knowledge of resources and loots. Pretty soon you will be able to fall on your keyboard and make a weapon just like someone elses. Horrible idea

When i talk to various players that play other games on the side,I ask them how the crafting is. They tell me it is nothing like swg, all weapons and armor have the same stats. I think that is boring and i thank god that swg crafting is orignal and complex,but it looks like it will be the opposite of orignal and complex down the road.. Anyone else feel this way?

Honestly this really needs to be adressed, for most veterans this will mean that 90% of our resurces will be over the top...

Has anyone tested if this will take the resource above resource cap.


Saying I use a 97% resource with these buffs will I get 107%? If so then I guess it doesnt really matter, if not well I guess we better get fighting

That's a good point. If we can break caps we'll still be able to differentiate our products. But then that will make these new buffs absolutely vital. You won't be able to craft jack-sh*t without one of these resource stat buffs.

You are correct, but I dont mind interdependency (though this seems a bit over the top) so II could live with that. If however it doesnt break the cap its very bad indeed
