This thread is about the "Accuracy Bonus : " stat that you see on weapons, not what accuracy does in general.

In order to properly test if the accuracy bonus works, the tester must know what accuracy actually does.

A good test would be against an equal lvl PvP opponet. Have two identical damage weapons. Weapon A with as high an accuracy bonus as possible. Weapon B should have the lowest possible. For hit to miss ratio you would need a large number of attacks to actually make a valid conclusion. For mitigaton purposes a couple of specials will be all that is required. If working properly the specials fired from Weapon A should do more damage then those from Weapon B. The lower the defence mods your target has the greater the difference in damage should be.

The accuracy bonus on a weapon is not included on the ctrl + c sheet stats, but I have used weapons with low accuracy after using the sac pup and know that you miss a lot more than you do without the pup.

And I don't notice a wee bit of difference. I am sure some weaponsmiths who are selling guns for millions of credits because of an accuracy bonus of 80 sure as hell wouldn't want their customers to know it's meaningless either,

For those of you that don't understand how accuracy in general works, read this thread. Accuracy does effect damage and tohit chance. /sigh

Now as to the testing done by one of the posters here. 8 accuracy should be noticeable on the damage. By the thread above:

delta damage = delta accuracy * (max-min) * 0.00066255 = about 2 damage for this gun which you did not see.

QED The accuracy mod on guns does nothing.

I wrote about this some time back, maybe a week or two.

My testing concluded that weapon accuracy has no effect.

Theres a really simple test, create a speed PuP with really bad efficiency, that will knock you Accuracy right down.

I was shooting a CL80 jedi. I was doing something above min using the standard ranged shots. With or without PuP made no diffence. Taking one of the low level accuracy foods (crispics i think) that added +40, made a minute difference, but the PuP didnt.

Now, in fairness one thing I DIDNT try to record was the hit/miss rate. Thats a bit of an animal to work unfortunantly.

I think you are explaining to us how accuracy works....... I think we know this.

What we are saying is that the accuracy on the weapons doesnt appear to have any effect !!!

ok i tested again.... will delete my prior cuase it changed...

Accuracy bonus does work... however only if you accuracy is already higher then other player.

I did the test (with pup / w/o pup) agains master TKA and did the exact same damage each time.

However I did same against a npc (80 bol) and this time I got the bonus added.

So the accuracy bonus only adds IF your accuracy is higher the opponets defense... if its not than it is worthless... ie worthless agains most jedi... but good for pve
