Thread: Accuracy Bonus on guns even work?

It was my understanding that the accuracy bonus wasn't so much about how often you hit, but could give a damage bonus when your accuracy was higher than the targets defense mods.
Is that incorrect?
Hmmm... sounds feasable. I'll have to test it.
As far as I know the accuracy is compared to your opponent the larger the difference is (to your benefit) the closer to max dam of you weapon you will hit.
I havent tested this myself, but that is what I have read and believed in a long time. That also makes the min damage more important.
I have no clue how to test this, but if anyone is up for it, Im sure it would be a great test for both WS and combattants alike ![]()

We mean the actual "Accuracy Bonus : " that you see on a weapon. It doesn't seem to do anything.
Hmm
Not doing anything in what way? It doesnt show up on the character sheet, but has anyone tested equal weapons with same damage output but different scopes applied?
The one with the highest accuracy should give higher damage if it works.
Havent tested it myself, but it might be a worthy project ![]()
Okay I made a test with the following to pistols
Pistol A
1.9
376-779
Acc 12
Wound 10.35%
DPS 303.57
SAC 117
Pistol B
2.35
376-779
Acc 20
Wound 10.35%
DPS 245.15
SAC 85
My testsubject (thanks Mankind
) is master BH/ master Pistoleer with 40 Pistol acc and 160 general acc
We tested on both a CL 80 Creature and a CL 10 Creature and the result was consistant
No difference in damage between the Pistoll A and Pistol B ![]()
I realize that the difference in accuracy is only 8 and that diminishing returns could be a reason why theres no difference, but it seems to me that you should at least see the slightest dam increase on the high accuracy weapon if accuracy did influence damage output.
Im going to test the 2 pistols on my Master BH/Master Doctor later as she has less accuracy build into her template and though I cant see why that should effect the outcome (unless theres some sort of cap) I want to try it out nonetherless ![]()
But at this point is seems there is really no reason at all to choose high acc over speed ![]()
(NB I didnt use the high end BH scopes with acc 40+ as I dont have any looted post pub 22 and I didnt want to change the damage type on the weapon, cause I wanted the 2 pistols to be as similar as possible)
If this test is indeed true it seems accuracy belongs right down there with wounds in reagrds to importance which is very very disheartening ![]()

Yup, accuracy bonus only seems to serve as a buffer against reinforced stock powerups, but even then I'm not sure that a negative accuracy bonus even works.
So is it safe to say they are useless?

Thanks for that, I'll see if I can get any answers on this subject. I have asked before but had no answer.
