Thread: post-patch weapon repairs

As a new master weaponsmith that makes decent weapons, but not on par with the great crafters on my server, I have also noticed this. I do repairs for whatever the customer thinks they should tip me. It is a nice income and helps me get better resources for future crafting. I am not happy that most of my repairs now are moderate, where before the patch and mastering weaponsmith I had better results.

I hope the dev look at this and let us know one way or the other. Would like to see it fixed, would hate to see customers stop using my service, at least untill I make better guns.

It would make sense if they wanted to 'fix' the economy by inceasing equipment turnover. It also reduces the amount of equipment in game. Personally, though, I think this was a crappy way of going about it. I don't understand why no one at SOE had the sack to at least post something about it beforehand.

Possibly good idea in the 'big picture', but horrible implementation. I would have had a heck of a lot more respect for the Devs if they had stood tall and said 'Look, this needs to happen. Sorry crafters' and taken the ranting, rather than some sneaky little stealth nerf. Someone needs to tell SOE that repeated stealth nerfs like this are just going to make them look like a bunch ofpansies too afraid of getting flamed for making a change... and that perception is reality.

Besides, the object of the game is to provide and enjoyable gaming atmosphere. Getting nerfed w/ warning is a heck of a lot more 'enjoyable' than discoverting some stealth nerf days after a publish... way to drop the ball.

On the other hand, I might be overreacting and this could be a simple bug where we were supposed to get weapon repair bonuses and someone left out a little code. Who knows w/ this crew...

I've repaired 10-15 guns since publish 7.
(i repair very often, I got many customers who come to me because i repair for free in exchange of them buying my weapons)

I've only received 1 "minor blemish" the rest has been "max condition reduced".

I got +19 weapon repair in my cloth, +20 weapon experimentation, +43 crafting station.. 99.8% repair tools and a cute red outfit

Before the publish7 I estimate that 95% of my repairs was minor blemish.. I can't really remember last time I had any other result..
Now I got less then 10% "minor blemish" as result.. there has definetly been a nerf.. a silent nerf.. did SOE belive we wouldn't notice?

I would welcome some sort of "fix" for repair.. (such as makign the repair tapes actually work).

I also noticed somethign else after publish 7 (correct me if i am wrong) but now the "weapon repair" shows in skill modifiers box under "ctrl+s"

It clearly state 0+19 for me.. which would mean.. that weaponssmiths has no repairbonuses at all.

This could mean that they intended to give us repair bonuses but forgot to add +100 to
weaponsmiths and we ended up with same repair results as other professions..

Hmm, 5 more repairsyesterday and got the following:

3- "You have repaired the item, however the item's maximum condition has been reduced."

2- "You have only marginally repaired the item. The item's max condition has been reduced."

I was so peeved that I forgot to write down the % differences between the two apparently different repair results. If I recall correctly, there used to be only three possible repair outcomes. Now there appear to be four. Am I remembering this right, or have there always been four instead of three? If they have added a fourth repair possibility, thenpossibly that change may be part of the current problem.

Hmmm, I actually havent noticed any differenceinsucces rate, and my tools are only 98.9, no skill tapes, etc. i.e. I almost always get a minor blemish result, but it still reduces the condition noticably.

On another note I repaired a freinds vibroknuckler the other day that had 0 condition, which then went negative, hehe. I seem to remember reading a thread somwhere about this being a bug(the weapon should have broke when it reached 0?), but I thougt it had been fixed...

dont get to the forums much, too busy playing

Having managed to reduce the maximum condition on the last 10 weapons I've attempted to repair (+1 repair, 99.8% tools), I was wondering - has anyone else noticed a change? I've not seen a single 'minor blemish' repair since around the time the patch went in.

We're coming up on a week since this issue was identified.

out of the 15 or so i have repaired i have had 2 fall apart 3-4 reduced condition and the rest minor blemishes.i found that lag has a very bad effect on repairing a weapon.if im in an area like a starport i always seem to get the reduced condition or destroyed messege.but if i run out of town and face away from the city and repair i get minor blemishes.it may be just me but try in a very stable non changing environment and try the repairs.course if its your house is the best place.i repaired a 450/8?? condition sonic blaster from geo cave in my house with a minor blemish.

try that, but definatly there is a problem associated with lag and repairing.

Ok this is what I've noticed so far, but first my beginning results of repairs. I have +17 to weapon repair, bout 95% of the time I get a minor blemish repair. After the patch though I have only gotten one out of several weapons I've repaired with my crafting clothes on.

Then I was out hunting and a customer needed a weapon repaired right there and then. I had told him I didn't have any of my gear on and I had lots of wounds and bf(superstitous if you wanna call it that). Anyways I repaired his weapon out in the middle of the city and got minor blemish result. Since then I tried a few of my own weapons and they all got minor blemish results.

Seems more like my +17 weapon repair is more like -17 now.

Just my thoughts.

These are repairs done in order, using 100% repair kits. All the weapons were created post patch. These numbers jibe w/ what I've seen w/ pre-patch weapons, and pre-patch repair kits. Repairs were performed mid-day on Rori (queue crickets, etc.)

I'll follow up w/ a larger sample size.
