Thread: post-patch weapon repairs
Yes, yes, yes. I keep a log of all my repairs, and I've repaired more weapons than any weaponsmith on Tempest - well over 500 to date. There was an definitive change to repair success rates last patch.
I don't think it's any secret that SOE wants to bring down the damage on weapons, and associated with that is their desire to remove the too-numerous, older, "too powerful" weapons from the game. If they can be repaired successfully, it sort of defeats their intention...
Now, in case I'm being too obtuse, I'm not saying there won't be uber weapons in the game - yes, yes there will continue to be such. It's just that the quantity and distribution of those weapons will change. In SOE's eyes, there were too many crafted weapons that were too powerful, and that distribution pattern is what is being altered, to be replaced by a much smaller, loot-driven pattern.

My consistent moderate successes were on both pre- (krayt FGW5) and post (DX2, VK, tusken) patch weaponry, so the data suggests some kind of global repair change / nerf / bug.
I've ruined enough of my guild-mates weaponry for one day - has _anyone_ seen a 'minor blemish' success recently? If not, this needs to get bumped to the correspondent. So far, I'm 13/13 for 'max condition reduced'.

I have had a very few 'minor blemishes', but they were all weapons of my own making, and none were krayt examples. Krayt weaponry in particular appears to have been hit rather hard.
I'm advising clients to hold weapons for now until we learn more...
Im fuming,
Iverepaired 10 weapons since this last patch and ALL of them have been moderate repairs with decrease in OC. Using 99.7% repair tools and dam good droid / Station. Something definatly is nerfed up. Prior to this patch I was getting 80%-90% perfect repairs, and a few moderatesusing same tools techniques and stations.
Today Itried to repair 7 diff weapons from diff makers, All of them moderate with OC reduced!!
Talked to a master Tailor freind who said she was having the same problems. Ive ruined enough of my freinds weapons today and Im pissed offso im done for now. I sincerely hopethey will be looking into this ASAP or I will not be doing any more repairs. Might as well take the repair tools out of the gamenow, whats the use?

Before the patch, the one environmental aid I found was to stand next to a crafting station... public or private... statisticallybeing next to onedid make a difference. I always used +10 in weapon repair skill tapes, and for about 300 of the 500+ repairs we had 99.999% kits available.
None of that matters now, and the statistical shift is definitive. Whether it is intentional (as I thought) or a bug (as some have suggested) remains to be seen...
Since it appears that repairs seem to be subject to the same randomness as slicing and a similarity with experimentation results, has anyone yet tried using food enhancers like Bespine Port?
I hope I'm not sounding like an absolute noob here...

I've definitely noticed a radical change in weapon repairs since Publish 7 went live. So far I've done 40 repairs. Only one of the 40 was a 'minor blemishes'. All the rest have been 'reduced condition' (moderate) repairs and one complete break. That's an almost complete reversal of my repairs prior to the patch. Weapons have been of all different types and initial conditions havebeen 240/948, 366/1024, 442/780 etc. I haven't tried anything below 250 in remaining condition since the patch. If possible, I would also like to have Logix report this to Dev Team and see what their response is to the issue.
