It would appear, that even without fixing the problem with the resource caps, that Mustafarian resources are going to cause a lot of problems. I have just finished cataloging the current Mustafarian resources on Wanderhome and can tell you that a large number of schematics I use have already alerted them as being Number 1 and Number 2 ranked resources. Why the developers couldn't apply the same capping rules to these resources as any other planets, I will never know.

I foresee a giant blue dot, on the radar outside the mining installation, with a single voice of a thousand crafters chanting the words; "You flip a coin".

Just a quick observation:


2 new types of Amorphous and Crystalline gemstone are found on Musty as well. I don't think the new stat rangeswill affect anything for us EXCEPT the regular Blaster rifle barrel.


Looks like AS's and Arch's use alot of gemstone, so it might affect them.

Just for fun I checked for all the Musty resources available:



  • Ext. Ore

  • Int. Ore

  • Solid Petrochem.

  • Liquid Petrochem.

  • Reactive gas

  • Crystalline Gemstone (x2)

  • Amorphous Gemstone (x2)

  • Fiberplast

  • Radioactive

Heaven help us if we have to sample for radioactive!!!


All the resouces seem to have ungated stats, like the JTL resources except possibly the ore MA. Of the 2 I looked at, all the stats were >930 except for MA, both types had 730-740 MA.

So I guess the above proves the OP and replying's hypothesis... the Mustafarian resources seem to be skewing the system. Pre-existing metals (some) are better still [ex. Vafuite Polysteel Copper, CD 984 OQ 942 {some consider the best for the "metal" slot}] but values are probably most thrown off in the Steel and Aluminum departments. Or perhaps its a new dawn of crafting? A resurrection of days before harvesters... make sub-par weapons or spend your IG time with a /survey macro on Mustafar getting competitive resources.

For Armoursmiths this isn't so critical, They reach the caps for armor resists at much lower than 100% experimentation and its a very acheivable target with good normal spawns of resources.


For us weaponsmiths that need to get as close to 100% as we can this is a much bigger issue.

so on tarq we had some new resources spawn. i thought i would have to use a kit on the previous iron that despawned but once i got my sample monkey to mustafar i surveyed... and noticed that BOTH irons were still available.


can anyone confirm a resource has actually DEspawned on mustafar or do we have an issue?

I started a thread about this in the armorsmith forum, but haven't posted too many stats yet. I've had people say that the resources might never shift, or it's a cheesy marketing tactic to make more people buy the expansion, or like above that some spawns on mustafar will drop resources only.


My theory is that all mustafar resources are gated high, even oq. Of all the resources I sampled there were a crapload that were with stats above 800, and none that were really low. I'm hoping there's like a loot device that you can sample resources at a higher rate. I don't think there will be, but I can tell you if the resources do shift like other planets and they are gated like I think they are, then I'll be back frequently to grab resources for nice segments/layers (esp iron or steel) with super high oq/sr stats for individual suits.




Now that it's OK to support the removal of classes in your signature, I firmly support the removal of all the benny hill glowstick fanclub from the game; it was a lot more fun before they came.

I think they should allow us to place personal harvesters on Mustafar. A couple of reasons:


1. Prevents overstocking by people with huge harvester farms

2. Prevents clogging up of the mustafarian landscape and gettingin the way of new content

3. Really isn't much room for heavy harvesters anyway

4. Gives artisans a market for personal harvies

5. It IS a mining planet, after all!

Where would you be able to place them? Dont think its possible the way the terrain is!
