Thread: Questions you NEVER ask a weaponsmith...
I know Mal and Biggens can back me up on this. On radiant we went untill what? Mid december before we could make t-21's because the rainbow gemstone never spawned. Prior to that I'd get one of these everyday.
c: Hey.
m: Howdy
c: you really a weaponsmith?
m: yup
c: can you make me a T-21?
m: nope, the required stuff hasn't spawned since launch.
c: Well <insert random server name> has them.
m: yes I know. resources spawn the differntly on each server, we've never had some of the stuff we need.
c:BULL S**** you're just lazy I bought one from <insert random ws> 2 weeks ago.
m: uhhh sure man. well just go by another one from him.
I know it's not as funny as some of the other posts but it was a royal pain.
Whenever someone asks me 'What's the best pistol you make'? or similar question, I reply 'Which is better, a life preserver or a glass of water?'
The smart consumer is enlightened at this point.
The rest either go away (also a success), or ask for clarification.
I make one last attempt to enlighten them by saying 'Ask a drowning man and a man in the desert'

This has got to be the most hilarious thread I have ever read, good job guys!!!
Ohh and BTW, can you use the "good stuff" when crafting me one of those weapons!!
Hmph. It is with careful consideration after reading this thread that I have decided to keep my MWS title safely locked away until I can collect all the resources I need to keep the people from lunging at me in /tell like they do to you guys.
MDE is a much easier title to deal with, most definitely.
Attichi'tuk
recent gems include
Him: "Can you make my weapon more Better?
Me: "Depends on how better it already is"
and
Him: "Are you slicing right now?"
Me: "......"
Keepin the thread alive
Let me set this up for you all: Firstly, I'm a bit of a pushover when it comes to being nice to people; I tend to go out of my way to help someone if I can, although I've quickly stopped "lending" money to those begging in the starport. Secondly, I managed to get MWS about a month ago, after off-and-on grinding, trying to time it with my ongoing materials harvesting. Then, Ostrine spawned into Lowca, so I could finally make ABPHs!
So, I was a happy little MWS, trucking my first load of Scout Blasters and Scatter Pistols to my vendor, wearing my MWS tag (becuase I was still a little giddy from the excitement of the above...already the ominous clouds are forming...)
As I'm traveling into Babelon, I get a /tell, asking if I can make rifles. I respond yes, but I don't have any ready. However, I'm carrying a load of ABPHs, so I can **edit** into the crafting building next to my tent and whip out a laser rifle in no time. (Yay for public crafting stations in research centers!)
The person asks how much a Laser Rifle will cost, as they're a little low on cash. I respond that I will make them one for a fairly modest sum, to which they respond, "That's still too much. Can you do anything about my Tusken Rifle?" At this point, I trade to examine their Tusken, as I might be able to give them a set of powerups to help out. Gads, it's a miserable piece, 7.5 speed, about 100 condition left, and very low damage potential. My CDEF rifles are almost better than this thing.
I offer to make them a new Tusken, to which they agree. I trot over to the crafting building and proceed to start building the subcomponents (yes, I was carrying around a stack of resources, as I was going to start some FWG5 and Rifle schematics.) They then ask, "How much do you want for this?"
I respond, "Whatever you think this is worth." Cue distant thunder...
I finish the final combine, and it's a nice little weapon. I don't remember the exact stats, but it was FAR superior to what they had before. I was pretty proud of it. My first Tusken Rifle! I open a trade window with my customer, and he puts in 1000 credits into the trade window, along with the old Tusken. Oh well. It was fun making the gun, anyway. Plus, maybe I'll get a referral... *Lightning flashes across the sky...*
I tell them, "That's a pretty good weapon. It would fetch quite a bit on my vendor, so take care of it!"
They respond, "Yeah, I might just put this on my other character's vendor! He's an artisan, and has LOTS of customers! Thanks!" and trots off with his new rifle.

I have done this as well. My vendors are in a tent, far separate from my manufacturing facilities and warehouses. One of the buildings in my setup is simply a workshop. One is my formal offices (open to the public), the rest are all warehouses and storage (all private). I use the office when I'm in the mood to RP, but I can always hide in my workshop to get away from it all. =)

Anyone ever sit down inside their weaponcrafting station to "hide"?
lol yes
I used to do this actually... it was kind of nice. But eventually I just got tired of people bothering me when I was crafting (or standing there talking spatial when I'm not reading my window. My answer to this was that when I moved into my new location, I set up a medium Naboo house for my store, and a large one for my lab. The lab is 200m from my shop and my factory farm, and is a private facility. So I get some crafting peace.
