Just a question. A friend of mine is a Master Tailor but wants some Combat just to have fun. She wants to be MTKA and we are looking at 0040 Smuggler for the unarmed in that tree. Is that worth it or should we put the points somewhere else?

From what I have read, don't take smuggler just for unarmed bonus because it isn't worth it. Although, smuggler does have some cool things like Feign Death to offer.

I personally like the combo TKM, Master Pistoleer, and Smuggler 4020 hehe this way i get all the benifits of tanking from tkm, pistols give me the option to go ranged if in case my melee isnt all that damaging, and vice versa, if my ranged is getting whooped i can do tkm for tanking, and get the hell out of there haha, smuggler is the best of these hehe with last ditch and feign death i am dangerous indead, feign death is beautiful for pve, and in pvp last ditch makes people run for their lives haha, i just like to keep that part a secret,

going TKM/CM.


The two dots add 200-300 damage a tick each + great heals + rez + state and pool debuffs.


The added melee & rangeddefense in CM is nice (+40 each)


one buff from medic.


It fits my playstyle nicely... I can solo and help in a group as a backup healer/rezer



2xTKM/MCM + Rifle/Doc+ Ranger/Doc + chef/DE + padawan/CM + Smuggler/BH

I'm mainly gonna PvE, possibly join in larger PvP battles and I'd really like to take on the tank and support role best I can, right now I am thinking of:

MTK / MMedic / MDoctor


...but would I gain more from going MBrawler than MMedic -- both choices would leave me with 4 skill points to spare and three mastered professions.


I know alot people master a second melee profession for better damage dealing, but pure hand-to-hand combat is what I want this toon to be (role-playing wise so to speak), so that's not for me.



However, just to contradict what I just wrote, I have been thinking of MTK / MPistoleer and 4x4x Smuggler - which would give me some ranged abilities (incl. stopping shot) + some nice Smuggler abilites (Last Ditch & Feign Death) - but then, obviously, I won't be able to heal much but will have to rely on bought buffs.



My final template would be MTK / MSmuggler and something like 4xx4 Pistoleer - which gives good shots, defence, full Smuggler abilities (making buffs, etc + their unarmed speed / defence).



Any suggestions for a TKA Novice who just can't make his mind up?

After the CU goes live I'll let you guys know how my Template turns out.

I'd think rifleman would complement ranger very well, with conceal/camo and all that stuff.... But I don't know much about either one, really so who knows!


TKM + non-combat secondary profession that's not a medical profession is going to be tough. When you're tanking, you wont get any benefit from being a ranger, and when you're a ranger you won't get any benefit from being a TKM, so these don't really complement each other. But it's all bout what you have fun doing bro.

I use the MRanger/TKM templet, I love it. If you like to kill lvl 82-83 mobs solo real fast like, this is not for you. I don't mind 'cause these where my first 2 choices a year ago when I first started and I like them. Camo does work if ya know how to use it, and nothing is better for pulling one mob away from its buddies (at 40-42metes) than a trap. I choose my fights, and have no problems except when more than one agro me. As I said tho, it takes time more so thanmost (if not all) other combinations you could do with Ranger.

Ok.. I'm still trying ot figure things out. She is a Master Tailor using TK as just a "fun" profession but we wanna make sure if she goes out with the CL80's she can survive. We have 52 SP remaining with Master TKA and Master Tailor. Thats 15 for a novice box somewhere.. and then up from there.

Its enough to get 0040 Smuggler or Novice Doctor I know.. if you can think of another good use, please tell me.

Help is appreciated!

k im tkm m brawler 4000 doc 0430 swords i have 15 pnts left what should i put my pnts in? I NEED MORE DAMAGE THESE 15 PNTS NEED TO BE SPENT IN SOMETHING THAT WILL BOOST MY DAMAGE!

Ok my turn to look for advise on a template :-

I'm TKM/Master Doc, so just trying to workout the best way of spending the remaining points.

I could master brawler with 4 points left probably for say melee speed in FS (or melee defence?).

or 0300 pikes with 6 points in FS melee speed/defence.

or 4440 medic, 1000 scout (terrain neg) and 7 points in FS.

or 4440 medic, 24 points in FS (4444 enh reflexes, 0044 combat prowess I guess) - question then is am I forced to go padawan at that point and does it cost me any SP's (i.e. unlock the char and leave it at that)

or do you guys have any other choices. Note TKM/MDoc is set in stone and I hunt 90% of the time in a group so group healing might be handy.

I'm personally going towards the 3rd option going into the 4th as I use up Skillpoints.
