I wish more people would have the guts to fight template vs. template ....

But it will never happen ... I love having weak a$$ defence stackers say they wont fight cause I am buffed, lol ....

Geuss that a fair fight to them is the best stack in the game, and then getting a doc to buff them ...

My friends and I duel template vs. template ... and its truly a test of skill.

this means I don't take mind foods for these ... cause my health and action buffs stacked with mind stuff, is cheap.

4) Carry emergency food/drink/spice around. Doctor buffs can add 2k to all your physical stats easily, and vasarian brandy can give you 400 more to all the mind stats, and you can drink 2. Add on Fishak for 500 more mind and Muon for 500 more to all mind stats, and you're looking at 1800 more mind and 1300 more focus/willpower. If you have the above armor, we'll never cut through all that HAM.

I think you mean Glazed Glucose Pates (I still got a few crates)or BE'd Canapes which can buff the secondaries +700 for 10ish minutes and you can eat 2 of those too.Combined with dancer and musician buffs that makes your mind pool asstrong as your other pools when buffed, if not more so.

With musican and dancer buffs my mind will jump to 1200ish mind and 1100ish secondaries, add on 820 mind for and 2266 secondaries with your Brandy (+410) and Canapes (+ 723). THEN add on another 500 across the board for muon...

That gives you 2520ish mind ham and 3766ish secondaries. Lets see anyone take down your mind with mind stats like that. nice composite takes what 650 off your mind secondaries??

righto, in short: your plan to defeat a TKM means aside from being a Master Swordsman, I'll also need 80% composite, buffs, food and a PSG. To defeat a buffed TKM, I shuold bloody well expect to just need Master Swordsman without anything, seeing as their mind pool won't be buffed, and that's my target.
TKM specials compared to Swordsman specials have almost negligible HAM costs (roughly 220 on a Head Hit 3 you mention), so a TKM doesn't need buffs to use their specials to the fullest. A Swordsman however can let off 5 head hits and be almost down.
Not to mention that while you say TKM isn't defensive, TKA gets the highest toughness mod and melee defense of all the elites. (fencer gets 8 more melee def, but 20 less toughness)

Um...since when...fully buffed I do more damage to myself with my VK then I do to the person I am fighting.

now to support those claims with a few more facts determined from some PvP fighting.

I as a Master Heavy Swordsman using a very good curved sword (it's not like everyone can manage to get a power hammer with enough speed attachments to make it worthwhile). battled a TKM. Both without buffs, without armour, without food. Now if that ain't THE perfect balanced fight I dunno what is.
First I used my Master Brawler skills to dizzy-KD his ass with one-handed, then I switched to two-handed, oblivious of my fate. I did a bunch of head hit 3's, doing 60 damage to him, 220 HAM cost to myself. That **edit** just ain't funny. A while later, the dizzy effect wore off, he got up, knocked me down and finished my off in 2 Unarmed Hit 3's seeing as I had a few hundred HAM left total. He didn't dodge while he was down or anything, and I would have been down long enough for an extra couple of UAH3's, so stun/intimidate would have done precious little for my case.
That's 60 damage with my strongest mind hit against an unarmed TKM, and you think 50 damage vs 80% comp is bad?

I later tried this again against a fellow swordsman, who had buffs and entertainer enhanced mind to 1500. I knocked him down with dizzy as before, switched to my Swordsman skills and kicked his ass before he could get up using my head hit 3, doing250-300 damage to him per hit.

My explanation for these duels?
TKM gets melee defense +62 and unarmed toughness +57. Swordsman gets melee defense +20 and two-handed toughness +43.
The defenses cause my damage output to be 4-5 times less on a TKM then on a Swordsman. Wouldn't be so terrible had the damage I took been done 4-5 times less as well. As it is now, in a pure balanced all-skill fight, TKM can simply do more damage.

We may be the kings of damage output, due to speed but we can't take much damage either. Your 50 damage is hard to believe EVEN with mitigation 3 unless your weapon is all max damage and no min.Iget hit for more then 50 when I duel master swordsmen even through my83% composite and mymele mitigation3. I also don't see how you would do 250-300 damage against another target with mitigation 3, or is your fellow swordsman a novice, as that would be your huge difference.

Any other explanation for this damage output? I'm happy to hear it so I can avoid it. I don't think it's impossible that the defense difference aren't the main cause, but they do seem to be the most likely one.

My final note:No, I don't want TKA's nerfed at all, they're fine just the way they are. They get KD+dizzy? fine by me, special effects IMHO SHOULD be the TKA's strong point. However to be the strong point, damage output, defenses and speed shouldn't also be your strong points. I wish the other professions would be taken to the point where they each had their own strong points.

Killgore,

Try reading the link in my post after the one you quoted, moron. That's the one that this stupid message board won't let me include as a link, with the link to the article "Play to Win" on sirlin.net.

Since you probably don't have the brainpower to figure out what I'm talking about, it's this one: http://www.sirlin.net/Features/feature_PlayToWinPart1.htm Just go ahead and copy and paste that into a browser, and read the article. Maybe you'll even learn something.

Your cries of 'this is cheap' and 'only losers do that' mark you as the lamest of the lame, also called a scrub. The tools are there, you either use them or you don't. Calling something cheap just because it doesn't fit the fantasy rules you operate under (and which magicially shift so anything that can possibly beat you is now cheap) just shows you to be a whining pansy, not a competitor. You're only willing to fight on your terms, meaning only when you have massive advantage and your opponent has no chance whatsoever - that much is common knowledge. Somehow I have a feeling that if I went and read the Intrepid board, your name would be one those most commonly associated with the term 'exploiter', and that most folks would tell me you are incapable of fighting a fair fight. Would I be wrong? (After all, you're a master doc, so you have the buffs up all the time, yet you want your opponent to be unbuffed. Lame.)

So you studiously copy whatever the net says is the current best PvP build. Doesn't mean you know anything about what you're talking about, but rather that you know how to copy other people. You see the same thing in Magic - the top decks are out there for anyone to look up and copy, yet it's mostly the same core of people winning every major tournament, because they know how to play, not just how to copy. I see the same in you.

Finally, where in that morass you call a mind did you mistake an article about how to beat a TKM as a discussion on making perfect templates? Are you naturally this stupid or are you working extra-hard at it today?

Wonderful, I preview it, and the Playing to Win is a link. I post, and it becomes regular text.

What a ****ed up bbs system here....

Anyway, the target should have been http://www.sirlin.net/Features/feature_PlayToWinPart1.htm

I agree with this. In a true 'my skills vs yours' duel, you should only fight buffed from your own self buffing. Whether that be self powerboosting or self doctor buffs.

Yes, I have a set of armour, 72% adv. ubese. I mentioned in my post that I was trying to compare the professions WITHOUT armour because of my belief that professions should be balanced at their complete base, no armour, no buffs, no food, no nothing, just the profession itself.

I never whined, I merely stated a few facts regarding a number of duels I had to show the reality somewhat undermines your own post. I wasn't specifically trying to lose the battle, I was merely attacking his lowest pool specifically, had I used 2H Hit 3, it would have done about 70 damage to a random pool rather then 60 to the mind (yes, I did use 2H Hit 3 a few times in some of the duels, only to find it less then efficient)

I also never said I was doing full on open PvP. I was duelling a friend, to test out the professions against one another. Full on PvP means getting all the advantages you can and trying to make sure your opponent doesn't have them. That however, has nothing at all to do with professions being balanced.

As for the defense claims, mitigation is another part that makes TKA's strong, because your damage is hardly downsized, making your damage output in PvP higher then other melee professions.

You say use intimidate, but what possible use would that do? It took 2 hits to finish me off, had I intimidated him, it would have taken 4, wow, an extra 2 seconds of me lying on the ground dizzied. Getting up in those extra 2 seconds is pointless (and also not guaranteed when you're dizzy), because I didn't have enough HAM to try to knock him down again, ergo, he would have continued to do damage to me.

Remember, I'm comparing the professions and their skills/damage/mods, not the possible advantages of armour/buffs/food. Simply look at the facts for a moment:

advantages:

- TKM is the fastest of em all, capping in speed on all moves without speed attachments

- TKM in PvP has the highest damage output of all, because it is hardly mitigated where other profs are cut in abouthalf.

- TKM has the highest defense rating of all, with the second highest melee defense and by far the highest toughness.

- TKM has all the state effects, e.g. swordsman has a low-chance dizzy

- TKM is most accurate of all.

disadvantages:

- TKM only has kinetic damage, a disadvantage which is completely irrelevant in PvP, because e.g. swordsman blast damage is 80%-composited as much as kinetic damage. Fencer with it's stun damage are the only ones that don't have this disadvantage, making it not a disadvantage for TKA, but an advantage for Fencer.

I know you don't like hearing these facts, and I definately expect you will disregard them and my own observations as being the untruths of a whiner. But before you decide that TKM was meant by the devs to be the tanks of the game, think about what pikemen were meant to be, or swordsmen. Why do you believe they are not supposed to be tanks?

My only complaint as a MBH is that i should at least be able to hit you, I spend alot of points to become a MBH and sowho masters 1 basic profession and 1 elete profession along with being able to take alot of Medic skills can kick my butt and i do alot of PvP

yeah its great....yeah...

but

how to heck do you lose to a wookie tkm swordsman?

All he has is defense from tkm really, swordsman doesnt have much on defense, wookies currently cant wear armor so just kd/dizzy spam unarmed hit 3 or combo hit 2 and they are gone.

Yea, curious: was this wookiee encounter before or after the warcry nerf? With warcry as it was I can certainly see that!.
