I'd imagine each bar would represent certain aspects of a character. Damaging a certain bar causes ill effects on the character. For example...
Hitting Health = Damage to heal and eventual Death
Hitting Action = Depleting this bar will severely limit Special Attack use of your opponent
Hitting Mind = This bar could essentially represent their "Willpower" to resist states. The lower this bar the easier states could be to apply to a person.
This is just a wild idea but i think it would be nice
That way every bar has a strategic importance. Ok sure you can just pound their health..but if you're going for their health alot and they keep healing..if they're going for your Action...they'll cripple your ability to use special attacks soon enough. Giving them the edge.
Any thoughts on this?

I said this in my own thread about what TK should be, but I'll say it here too...
If there must be a prereq for TK, it should be Medic Diagnostics.
Knowledge of Physiology and Healing Abilities (meditate).

3. "A character's maximum health will increase with the character's combat level up to 300%. New character health will be 1000, maxed character health will be 3000."
So I'm assuming Power Boostwill behistory?

Strangely enough, I think Scout would make more sense as a prerec for TKA. Survival, hunting, and exploration make more sense than 2h.
Gets my vote
(but then again scout is a very useful skill to have anyway)

Im also a longtime TKM, i dont post as often as others but i still read the forums and post when i feel that i have something that might be constructive to say. Before i make any decisions on what may be a better pre-requisite for our proffesion, i need some clarity on something.
I have one thing haunting my thought process at this point. It was the single line that has been repeated here a few times.... "You must unlearn what you have learned". Does this mean what i think it means (knowing SoE's ways in games all too well for quite a number of years) ? Does this mean that we will have to RE-DO all of TK all over again in order to be a Master again or what?
Just want some clarity on this before i can truly give the pre-req question some thought.

I hope it paints a better picture because right now we are trying to put a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle together with 10 pieces!!

Nope we'll be able to shuffle our points around for our new template i'd imagine. I personally am just hoping Teras Kasi get some useful state defences.

haha no joke!! Our dizzy is something to laugh at and our dizzy is pretty bad since we are supposed to be martial artists! I mean I haven't seen too many Martial artists that get knocked down once and get get back up because they have about the second worst KD def out of hte combat classes! No including some range ones lol

Last night i was fighting Giant Canyon Krayts. Let's just say i was "Constantly" dizzied. And the only thing letting me up was the limit on the amount of knockdowns per minute. I was on my back so often and so easily it really put Teras Kasi defences in perspective.
Right beside me was a pistoleer and he was almost never KD. It was really sad. How are we supposed to "Tank" if we can't /Tauntbecausewe're on our backsconstantly. It was pathetic to see
I'd like to hear Mankind's and others opinions on this.

I am a TKM/Doc, so I guess most of you know where I am focusing my thread reading and posting these days. This is the first time I have read the CU reactions in the TK forum. Here are a few things that I like about the revamp.
1) The health bar HAM: I thought I read clearly that the action and mind pools will still exist with substats. I got the impression that the only one that would KILL is now the health pool. I personally do not see how this makes things more simple at all. Anyone who duels/pvp's knows that the mind pool is the one and only target to spam upon. Simple, their specials use mind, their other bars are buffed and powerboosted and vercuptied. Which do you hit again and again and again? The mind!? I am sick of this aspect and I welcome the change with open arms. There is really no working strategy in pvp other than defense stacking and mind pounding. Oh Yeah, number 2:
2) Eliminate Defense Stacking: Yes. Get rid of it. I agree with past posts that state your defenses should be based on the weapon you have equipped. I see the physical motion of unarmed combat being different of that with pistols, fencing, etc. So how exactly are you supposed to employ the same defensive techniques?
3) Elite Combat Profession Balancing: I will pit my TKM against any commando on the server. So why does commando cost 20+ more points than my TKM? Do I agree with two-handed swords being the skill that makes up the difference, well no, but if we want to maintain the current power-structure than yes, skill point distribution had to be brought in line. I do like the ideas promoted here about an additional generic brawler line. Do we need to grind out four additional boxes? I hope SOE will simply allow this to be taken care of in repec.
4) Line of site: I kick a rifleman, he runs away with a battlecry and a head shot, I am toast. Now if I hide behind a house he has to come closer. The current system of shooting through mountains and walls is just lame. This my friends is the definition of balance, adding at least a small amount of logical realism.
5) Health leveling: Buffs are overpowered. I am a MD, and I am sitting here telling you, buffs are severely overpowered! Buffs have a place in the game for sure, as does food and dust. I have found buffs to be nearly three times more powerful than the nearest food or drug, they last infintely longer, and there is no down effect (ie muon). My biggest complaint about them? You cannot play this game without a buff in it's current state. Powerboost is great, but without a buff you would most likely end up a snack. Do I agree 100% with what little information they have given us? Not completely, but this is not the doc forum. If powerboost does still exist after revamp, then the TKM is a BENEFICIARY of this change, we get food, buff, powerboost, coke and a smile.
My suggestion for the time being: wait for more information before completely flipping lids. Teras Kasi in nowhere near the hardest hit by what information has been shared (in fact, barely scratched). Let's be patient, I think pure TK's will be happy with the outcome.
