Thread: Bh's are getting special armor, why not tka?

Ok to Atone and those that are also small minded. In the exhibitions I mentioned it was not a guy and a punching bag. It was 2 or more fully armored combatants using full contact martial arts to demonstrate how even with heavy plate armor a samurai was deadly with or without their swords. Also as some of the army folk have stated, it is all conditioning. If you are taught to properly wear armor or any bulky and heavy gear for combat, then you can do so without needing to worry. Not to mention that weight-wise I would bet that with all the advanced materials and what not Comp is mostlikely a lot lighter than most people realize. Even a full set of european full plate rarely weighed 200 lbs. And armor is not just dead weight it is carefully crafted to be balance and bend wear it needs to. If you want to change the armor system use a gradual scale. At master all combat profs should get up to Comp. Give certs to wear armor at various points throughout the trees. In the case of TK it should come in the fourth line, sorry forget title I dont spend much time looking at what the boxes say lol, as that one calls for Combat Exp.

umm.. i am bh pistols 4 master pistoleer i do not run and if you are only tkm iwould own you.... armor or not

I don't think so my other profession is master rifleman and I had it before TKM. I've been toe to toe with a TKM as just a master rifleman and blew him out of the water once I got my footing.It was close at firstbecause I got the kd/dizzy and couldn't get up for a cuple seconds but when I did it was pretty much a 2 shot incap followed with a quick snipershot before he used FOW. He was wearing armor and had buffs to I simply had my brandy as stated above.

Thank god someone that has a brain and chooses to use it, and remember those crying talking armor away from TKm, you realize that most TKM i know including myself dont wear armor in cities unless we are going to attack some imps or something. But back to the point you cry TKM shouldnt be able to wer armor look at this quote and realize TKM wont be the tanks that we are without armor. Even tho the DEVS wouldnt do taht so most of this is just to kill time.
But I saw a post on this thread or another one with pretty much the same topic... if you dont need armor for PvE DONT WEAR IT !!!!!!!!!!!!! It isnt rocket science and they cant let us wear armor sometimes and not other times its all or nothing. I bet all the people posting take TKM armor away completly are wither noob TK or some little novice pistoleer taht got owned

I don't ever recall saying that TKM's shouldn't be able to wear armor. If you look at my original post then you will se that I was just stating BH armor sucks and it doesn't matter if they have new armor. As for whoever said that it didn't exist and that I haven't seen it is blind. There are screen shots of it all over the forums. It's about 30% base and is vulnerable to three type of damage. The only other thing I remember stating about armor is that it doesn't always win battles. I regurally fight without armor because I'm not always buffed. If you have the right skills it doesn't always mean you will lose without it. I see overt imps all the time at the starport in cornet looking for a fight. They are almost always in groups with over 3k HAM and fully armored.More often then not, Iengage them in combat and end up taking out most , if not all of them. Like I said above, armor helps, but it doesn't make you the best. So if BH's get their own armor, good for them, it doesn't effect us at all.

Some interesting ideas in this thread *along with a lot of un-called for comments* I guess I'm in the minority that I'd like to see Kimonos in this game...not the Dress Robe *looks stupid IMO* I could see, if it was a special TK quest Item, that it would have inheirent ability modifiers to make it viable to wear in the field...if you are going to PvP however, not wearing armor is just foolish in large battles until the Devs come to their senses and allow for more varieties in armor other than composite.
Those are my opinions.

CrashNgo, the BH armor runs upwards of 90% with something along the lines of 9/15/9 for HAM costs. That is pretty freaking good. I can only imagine how good it'll be after it's converted to Mandolorian. At the very least, it'll be the most amazing PvE armor in the game.

I've seen about three peices already and every one of them had 30% base. Maybe that 90% base you are talking about does exist but the only screen shots I've seen were 30% base and had three vulnerabilities. Two of those vulnerabilities I have high powered rifles to match it and an ok rifle to match the third. Even with the 90% base that you say exists isn't much better then most of the comp you can get now.

True, but we still don't know how the conversion to Mandolorian Armor will affect resists. Given that Bounty Hunters targets usually don't deal acid (NPC's or Jedi) I'd say the extremely low encumberence makes up the difference.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see then. I was only referring to the BH armor that exists now. Fair enough.
