Facts: Stuff you think are facts but just prove you don't know the proffesion.

  • TK's can pretty much Tank about any creature.

  • This is only possible due to buffs & armour, that is the problem there, NOT the TK proffesion.

  • TK with it's combined toughness and Composite in near invulnerable.

  • The same can be said about any Master Melee if they know what their doing, but it still not invulnerable, hard to kill yes but not impossible.

  • TK weapon accuracy higher than any other profession by leaps and bounds (Never miss).

  • Acctuly NO proffesion never misses, they added a bit of code not long ago so there was always a chance in a miss, same as its impossible to be never hit.

  • Power boost and mediate takes away from Doc profession.

  • The wound healing does a bit but its still MUCH quicker to use wound packs, as for power boost, its a 550 buff for many people, 650 for a Mon
Cal & it only lasts 10mins & is only to primaries, no where near taking away anything from the Doc proff.

  • Dodge with Defense acuity make you gods in melee.

  • Dodge does NOT work while fighting as a TK, only D.A does how ever its no where near game breaking, it's close to no-effect most the time.

  • Stacked with other profession increases the unbalance.

  • In most cases its the other proffesion that makes it like that, the same goes if you stack nearly any proffesions.

  • Defense versus states with defense acuity work better than any other profession.

  • I some how thing you havn't a clue what your talking about on this one.

  • About the BEST specials around that can be spammed ONCE PER SECOND while buffed.

  • We are limited to Ap1 & Kinetic damage ONLY there for very limited in PvE. As for PvP most people run around in 80% Kinetic Armour so we do very little damage.

Solution:

  • Drop accuracy.

  • Reduce toughness or not allow any armor.

  • Take out meditation/power boost or reduce their effectiveness.

  • Lower Dodge skill.

  • Don't allow stacking with other professions.

  • Drop defense acuity maximums.

Learn about a proffesion & learn how to deal with your enemy before coming & whining like a little girl that we need nerfing (no offense to little girls).

This is the only way to make this Profession balanced to the other professions. You must look at this from a constructive viewpoint and how this profession stacks up against the remaining professions. About any FOTM template includes TK in some way. This profession is way overpowered and broken.

The only part of TK that is used in FOTM templates ALOT is Meditation, it's a usfull skill, it's the same as alot of people dabble in BH for jedi missions, or people take Exploration for terrain neg, or even Novice Medic for the use of stims.

Balance with the TK prfession......is Greatly needed.
TKA is probably the most balanced profesion there is, mainly due to one thing, it's the least broken at the moment. TKA, like every proffesion, is more then beatable if you know what your doing, basicly get a clue, learn to fight, don't moan on our forums.

Oh, I'm not denying her the freedom to post, I'm just objecting to the accuracy of her posts and ridiculing her for it.

But I think, if we're going to "nerf" anything, let's nerf the stupid people, right?

Actually, reading those 'facts' the only reasonable answer is : nerf the doc buff.

Why don't they just fix PvP instead? Isn't that the real issue? But we're not going to get that, we're getting TIE Fighters instead.

TIE fighters are going to be part of PvP, so doesn't it make sense to wait until you can include them in the fix?

I think we should worry less about nerfing professions, and more about nerfing idiots who think that a smuggler/weaponsmith should stand a chance against any elite fighter.

Maybe the best way to do this would be to institute some kind of login procedure that tests one's capacity for reasoning and common sense.

But at least 90% of players do engage in combat... which is why it's more important to fix that than to add fighters so that people can play X-Wing vs. TIE without having to log out of SWG.

You're not building a house. Analogies from construction don't apply to game design.

Look, bottom line is, the space expansion is bigger than anything in this game right now. Bigger than the combat revamp, bigger than the GCW, bigger than Jedi. It takes priority over anything else. It's practically another whole game. So everything can wait until it's out. There's nothing more to it.

They certainly do. If you have any knowledge of programming, you will know that it is based upon logic. And when you are dealing with logic, any error early in the process results in continued errors further along the way.

In other words: If there is an unresolved bug or an imbalance, and you add something to it, that too will be bugged or imbalanced. Adding new features and content to existing software NEVER makes it easier to resolve existing issues, and in fact usually further complicates the process. It doesn't matter if you are building a house, a game or an argument, flaws in the foundation affect the entire result.

You are correct in one thing: Space is another game entrely. THAT is why they shouldn't be allocating resources from this game to deal with it.

Nothing should be a higher priority than balancing and fixing the product we already have. And I'm not confident that once JtL is out they will then turn their attention to fixing the core game - their track record shows that they will simply continue piling more and more "new" stuff on top of an already dysfunctional system.

Haha now you're just getting bitter and grumpy and your argument is turning into "I hate SOE".

I don;t agree with their "priorities" because those priorities seem to be based on whim. They are, however, employing a typical corporate mentality where loyal customers are disposable because they can easily attract replacements with flash rather than substance.

By the time a new player realizes that the luster conceals fundamental flaws, he or she is either hooked anyhow or they have made their money off that customer and will replace them with another.

That's no way to treat the people who are responsible for the initial and ongoing success if a product.

If I'm bitter, it's because loyalty is not reciprocated. I'm right to be bitter when the needs of existing customers are ignored in favor of potential ones.

No they don't. You're confusing their methods. What they do is all to keep current customers, because the only way to make money in an MMORPG is to keep your player base. Subscriptions=$.

They can't abandon all new content to fix current issues. When that happens, people get bored and quit. They have to constantly balance the need to fix bugs with the tendency to get bored when new stuff stops coming.

JtL is as much to keep current players interested as it is to invite new folks in.

p.s. This is the first MMORPG I have ever heard of that actually rewards veteran players with anything. Your anger against the devs for "ignoring" older players is sadly misplaced.
