Thread: trying to find some background on TKA, its history and relation to swg

Not saying it should have bearing on the game
Just saying that it could be what TKA is meant to be GEEZ
must not be a tka
The two women in the Mos Eisley cantina are not the Pike sisters. They are a pair of con artists, and their description is in the Star Wars Encyclopedia near thier picture.
As for any other references to teras kasi. There really aren't any. Other what you have read in the Encyclopedia, and the breif mentioning in Darth Maul's book. That is it. Teras kasi aren't jedi killers. It's just a form of martial arts that specialize in unarmed combat. So what if they took out 8 imperial stormtroopers. That's only 4 per sister. I can do that and then some by myself. Throw in master brawler, and the SWG version would probably make them look like noobs.
Excuse me but 8 well armed well trained troopers
Give me a break
But would material found within the Expanded Universe be considered official? If based solely on the trilogy then technically we don’t exist.
Will have a look through Tales of the Mos Eisley Cantina and see if anything can be found there as the two sisters are supposed to be in there and the book explains what each character did before they got there, whey they ended up there and what happened after. Let me know your thoughts on this

None of this will nor should have any bearing on what TKA is in-game, but nice research. A definitive collection of references.

if you are referring to how the dev's continue to develop the profession you are correct, but if you mean it will have no bearing on how people PLAY the Teras Kasi, you are wrong.
for myslef, i am already re-writing my character's bio, and rethinking how i approch my game-play. from other posters here, it seems as though others may be taking an new interest in the profession as a whole, and not just a another melee combat choise.
once again this is an AWESOME POST!!
thanks again :two thumbs up:
I changed my bio accordingly too
I use that as a basis of my char

regarding the pike sisters, you can see them if you watch carefully in "A new hope"at the bar counter ofthe mos Eisley cantina. In the Cantina novel, it explains why they were there. Shadows of the Empire will also link up
Sorry, wrong sisters on this one. In fact not even sisters at all. The pair you've spotted here are Mistril warriors named Shada D'ukal and Karoly D'ulin. Neither are Tëras Käsi, however the Mistril are similar to the TKA in many ways. Both are secretive, martial arts oriented, and have had great tragedy on their home planets.
Information on Shada and Karoly can be found in most Star Wars based Timothy Zahn novels. Personally, I would say that between Timothy Zahn and Kevin J. Anderson, nobody is more reliable for SW info save for maybe George Lucas himself.
These girls were spotted in Chalmun's Cantina posing as the Tonnika sisters. Brea and Sonni Tonnika were con artists that have run into Lando in the past. From what I have read on them shows that they are not fighters at all, just con artists. This could be an act though. Tonnika may very well just be an alias that the Pike sisters use.
Everyone needs to know that "LFL considers all EU material to be canonmaterial. Only material marked woth an Infinities logo is considered not canon."-Sue Rostoni, LFL
Yes, the books are a legitimate part of the Star Wars Timeline. TKA's exist.

Well storm troopers are better equiped, and trained than regular soldiers. Which means they are frightening opponents to the average individual. However a PC's in most RPG systems, and many important named NPC's are far from average. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
