Hi all, I am:


TKM

Master Swords

Novice Fencer

Some scout and medic


I like doing high end content, and also some pvp. I am looking to go up one line in fencer (didn't think master brawler was worth keeping), but not sure what provides the best bang for the buck. Any thoughts?

Think you'll have a hard time dealing any damage to a master defender. Pikeman or swordsman would do the job a lot better than TKM.
My ideal template against a jedi would be MPike/Mfencer/TK4300/medic2040 give or take a point in medic or so. That would combine good defense with good offense, especially with defense attachments. In my opinion it's better to go for mastery as a damage dealer and cap the last defenses with attachments. You can't add much dmg to TKM with attachments




Lies, i have beat master healers, enhancers, and defenders with this template.
TKM is better defensivly then swordsman and pikeman.
Infact, with this template i often run into groups of 5 or 6 jedi, and burst run around them, and the cannot hit me if im on pikata pie. Soon my ham starts to drop and i have to get out of there though.
The template is bad on damage, but great on defense.

Personly I'd go with the TKM template, I admit I am bias on that though, but in my opinion it just expands on what you can do, with it you gain the ability to tank very well, it gives you a good option for melee combat & just generaly give you more options in combat.


With TK don't expect to be doing the damage dealing like you do with riffles but if you group alot you will be able to take on that tanking slot if no one else is around to fill it.


The other template you are thinking about is good however lots of state deffences can only help so much,& of course they won't help you for long if you are still taking all the damage from the melee hits in highend PvE.


Something else you might want to consider if you enjoy TK is to switch the Fencer lines for Master Brawler, this will give you Intimidate2 which helps alot of hunts as well as 5% more toughness while fighting as a TK & a 20m KD. But that deppends on whether you can do without the state deffences from fencer of course.

Well i think i have a pretty sound temp for pvp mainly if thta is what you like better...tkm/4400fencer (for the melee/ranged defense cape and some kd/posture change defense) and then 4030doc for stopping those ern cm's and pikeman.

My best templete that i have had with TKM was TKM, Fencer 4440, Medic 0040 and Scout 4040. Its a great templete for doing loads of PvE and hunting creatures. Also turned out to be niffty of PvP as well.

TKM, MCH, medic, and novice rifles. Great tanking capability, and some good ability to cause damage. Jedi will eat it up, but with skill ataches, it makes for a great PvE temp, and a fair PvP temp.

Rifles is really supbar below Master, so I'd suggest dropping it for either TKM/Master Brawler/MCH so you're better at PvP (Intim 2, Lunge 2, +5 Toughness) or maybe TKM/MCH with 434x Medic for nice fat heals when you need them.

For CH I always liked going ranged though as my Wooly Triplets could keep stuff tanked for a while .

Novice Fencer would give you more defenses then Novice Pike, but I'd probably side with ER: Melee and Ranged D instead, or maybe Melee Defense and Melee Accuracy.

I'm going to have a free second character in about a month (fingers crossed) and I want to build it into a TKM/BH. What are my chances vs Jedi with:

BH 4 x x x (so i can hunt)

TKM

Medic 2 1 3 (the 1 is just the leftover sp)


or


BH 3 x x x

TKM

Medic 2 x 4 x (or 3 x 3 x)


My VK is: 2.2/ 47-210/ Wound:38.2%/ HAM cost: 39/55/39

I'd be using a LS PSG (let's not discuss this one here, thanks) and would appreciate help w/ any other SEA's you recommend.

What do you think?

Well as TKs are basically the anti-Jedi, it works well with BH. I would go with just Investigation 3 and 2x4x Medic. Most of the time you'll get smacked around with Dervish 2 instead of Lucidity Strike (Head Hit) so the healing helps there.

Also, the LS PSGs are supposed to have an LS resists. The bug is that they go away, so no worries .

In terms of your weapon, its a pretty good VK, anything above 200+ is pretty good.

But note, that if you unlock in a month, you'll be unlocking about a month before the CU so this templete may not even work then. Same goes why I wouldn't blow a ton on Def vs. X AAs before we get more concrete info on the CU.

thanks for your help. much appreciated. I guess i'm actually unlocking jedi on my main next week so it's more like 2 wks before i get an alt unlock. all the same, i may just get TKM and wait for the CU for any other changes.
