Thread: We have one seriously borked profession here people!

If TKM's broke, why is it one of the two most popular combat professions (other being rifleman) and is considered a FOTM?
TKM is popular for meditation, state effects and melee damage mitigation. It has weak state defenses and it's damage output is reduced to near nothing against good armor in PVP. Trust me, all of the TKM/Rifleman on Bria rarely incap anyone with their TKM moves.
Mas...
I to can go toe to toe with enraged Rancs, in fact that is what I do a lot of times when I need money. Any TKM can sit in a PvE situation and own, TKA is the owning profession of PvE right now...it has been since the holo grind started. The fact remains that in PvP, TKA is not the profession that needs to be toned down. Try coming to Bria, making a TKM, getting some good comp armor, and going toe to toe with our rabid group of PvP fanatics...it won't happen...HANDS DOWN...TKA NEEDS ANOTHER DAMAGE TYPE!

i'm sorry i'm trying to locate where it is exactly that says we as TKs are supposed to be the end all be all answer to pvp. It seems to me that not being able to just run in and solo everyone i see makes pvp a little more dependant on group vs group rather than one on one pvp which is the way things should be. We're fighting a civil war here people not a series of one on one battles. Rather than whine about how you cant single handedly own the world worry more about how you can put a group together to get a real large scale battle going
I'm sorry, but I failed to see how your original thread was about anything than, other than a boast of yourself that you can solo enraged rancs...cause that's all it really was...
You want to talk teamwork, talk to the guilds and people of Bria that are making a difference in the GCW, whether it be in a small group or a large one..imp or reb...we know how to do PvP...
All I really know is I am a master Doc and a up and coming TKA. I can solo Enraged Rancors NP. I can also for the most part, hold my own in PvP, but the other night i was taken out in 4 seconds. The dude came at me so fast i didn't have time to do any serious damage to him. I was buffed over 2k per buff and I was maxed on mind food and I was power boosted, and to top it off I was wearing 80% ken. rez. armor. His very first hit caused fire damage, "don't know how he did that cause he was a fencer," then hit me with dizzy, intemidate, and was trying to knock me down, "didn't work, thank god." Now I'm not whining about getting beat, hands down the dude had his **** together in PvP, but man I was giving the best I had to give and he ripped me a new one and fast. You may ask was he buffed and wearing comp? yes, he was, but he was not using a baton on me for stun damage, he was using a Gaf. Stick on me, and oh my god did it work. Bottom line the dude was a bad A$$, my only question is how he was able to get through my Def. so fast?
First, I have been a TKM 3 times since opening day (including now I have been a TKM for 8 or 9 months). I know our profession very well as it relates to PvP and PvE. I remember the days when the balance was different. I remember being able to solo anyting in the game. I remember when we ruled PvP to the point we were one of the first professions to get the huge nerf cries. The fact is we were too powerful and unbalanced many parts of the game. Its not fun getting nerfed because we develop a certain play style, but before making suggestions on new damage types or adding more skills\powers to our profession, please consider the following:
What sets a TKA apart (unique)from other professions is (as of now):
- able to cure bleeds relatively fast when not fighting
- able to cure poison relatively fast when not fighting
- able to cure disease relatively fast when not fighting
- able to heal ALL wounds, including mind very fast when not fighting
- able to get up from an incap (force of will)
- able to self buff up to 550 per main HAM stat ....depending on race and Mind stat (power boost)
- we have an extremely high DPS (kinetic damage - AP0 and AP1)
- we are able to apply all debuffs (intimidate (brawler), warcry (brawler), stun, blind, and dizzy)
- we are able to target any HAM pool we want (the power of which may be questionable, but the fact is we can)
- At TKM we get +32 Melee defense. The next closest to this is Fencer (+24)
- At TKM we get +30 Ranged defense. The next closest to this is Fencer (+19)
- We have a skill that is a complete knockdown (no need to use lunge1 from brawler)

The ONLY thing currently wrong with the TKA profession is the lack of an alternate damage type in the face of 80% kinetic armor. We fight just fine in PvP and even with the current damage limitations I can hold my own in PvP. People are asking for the moon and the stars in all of these posts but in all honesty, the class is pretty balanced. Only the lack of a way to defeat 80% kinetic is a problem to us. Remove the jawa ion rifle and the new stun pistol from the game (or change the damage type to something other then stun)and you would be shocked how totally balanced things would become. Grab a set of buffs and some good armor. Get some good mind food and give it another shot. If you are allowing yourself to be kited around in an open area and killed with headshots (which I am guilty of as well), you are the one doing something wrong.

Master TKA/Master Doctor
Don't sit here and lecture me about how to PvP and play this game...unless you have been playing as long as I have, and can remember a TKM being able to completly solo a kray with no problems or tanks...(hence the story...)
I know how to PvP, very well thank you, and my guild has been acclaimed as one of the great PvP guilds on my server...thanks for trying to make me look like an a$$, when it is actually you who now look bad...
Also, I'm not asking for the moon and stars, I'm asking simply for another damage type, and better class resists to damages...TKA has almost nothing other than melee defenses...

Perhaps youdidnt noticethe part where I said, "The ONLY thing currently wrong with the TKA profession". The word "currently" in there is the one you need to be paying attention to. You should actually read my post before popping on here and spewing useless stories about your pvp prowess or about how you remember a time in the past where you could solo krayts, because I could not give any less of a **edit** aboutkraytsandit doesn't affect PvP(which is what I addressed in my post). You could have been playing this game for 16 years and it does not directly effect the current state of balance between TKA andthe rest of thePvP world.
Now, whoexactly looks like an ass? Is it you, or your lack of reading comprehension? I also said in my post that a different damage type and removal of the stun pistol and jawa ion rifle would go a long way in balancing the game. Did you miss those parts as well? Were you so intent on disagreeing with me and so focused ontrying to put me in my place that you were unable to actually read what I said?

P.S. If you could solo a krayt then you PROBABLY were not balanced you toolbox.People like youspouting off about stuff like that on message boards is what gets classes nerfed.

This isn't a profession issue, it's an armour issue pure and simple. What needs to be done is limiting armour to 2 types of dmg types each, and 60% resists max.
That, or armour certs would work too.
