Thread: We have one seriously borked profession here people!
(Haven't read the whole tread, this is replying straight to the first post.)
Make aElectric VK and that fixes the one damamge type.
If TKs are meant to be as powerful as Jedi, make them a quest based profession that you can get through very hard system. You go to a hidden (Changes position every week to stay hidden) TKmonk and ask him to let you begin training in the art of the TK. He says yata yata blah blah and gives you a quest to show your worthy. He tells you when he gives you the quest to go to the hidden TK temple after. When you complete the quest you get a waypoint to a cave on Dathomir and you are allowed in unlike normal players. Inside the cave is a door leading to the temple. The monk there gives you another few missions and lets you in. Inside you do atrail with puzzles, hard creatures and stuff until you get to go into the main area. Inside you learn TKN. One of the branchesofTK is gotten by TK Xp which you get from doing quests from the monks. The rest are gotten with unarmed Xp. When you get TKM you get acess to the grandmasters room. He gives you a special untradable item like special clothes for TKMs that don't decay. Not armour or weapons though.
IMO:
No one should be able to solo a krayt, not even a jedi.
Jedi/Sith should be the strongest people in the galaxie, not TKs. Jedi/Sith should be way out of TKs depth or anybody else.
(In a whole SW sence not the game.)
Are you high? What the hell do you mean they were formed after alderaan was destroyed? Most jedi were dead by the time alderaan was destroyed. I do believe there is even a book about Darth Maul where a jedi master/teras kasi master is killed by Maul right before episode 1. I don't remember the jedi's name but he ismentioned inthe jedi sourcebook for the D20pen and paper rpg, and yes he was a teras kasi master and a jedi, imagine that.So your comment on the Teras Kasi order was formed to keep the jedi in check is null and void.Thereforebefore you open your mouth go read some star wars books. Not to mention one of my friends is a masterdoc and master tka in galaxiesand he can solo almost anything in the game. I know cause I've watched him solo every nightsister there is except for thenselders, and thats only because they have a 100% kinetic resist.

Well, he's not quite right regarding timelines and planets but his general thrust is spot on. You, however, are rude and wrong. Mayhap you should follow your own advice, i.e. Thereforebefore you open your mouth go read some star wars books.

The Teräs Käsi was founded thousands of years ago, during the last of
the great wars between the Light and the Dark.
A decisive battle between the two great forces occurred in the Pacanth Reach, devastating the planet of Palawa itself. The victory was attained, but at momentous cost to the civilian population. The Jedi Council, deeply saddened by the outcome of the events, nevertheless deemed it 'acceptable losses'. The battleground was not one of the Order's choosing, the evil had to be stopped, it was one planet against
thousands - there was no choice.
The civilians that survived the battle saw it differently.
The meager handful of survivors relocated to the nearby world of
Bunduki. The remaining Palawan concluded that so much force, so much
power - in the hands of one people, regardless of how well intentioned and regulated. They vowed never to let happen to others what had happened to them. They began the study of the mind over the body, how to master self from without and within. They forged themselves to be a force capable of dealing with Jedi, should the need arise.

After generations of training, the Teräs Käsi or,"Steel Hands," martial arts style is created. The first Epicanthix warriors begin training soon after from the Palawans.
3,850 BSW4
The first trained Teräs Käsi Masters leave Bunduki and explore the galaxy, secretly killing Dark Jedi and Jedi who are in the process of
turning. The Jedi only catch rumors of these 'Shadows' and later use the idea to create covert 'Jedi Shadows.' It won't be until Arden Lynn's discovery by the Empire that even the smallest hint of their existance comes to light.
There will always be people who feel they are not strong enough or fast enough. This is why, no matter what you do, someone will always "cry nerf" or "want their cake and eat it too."
I have been here for a long time. I was here for most of BETA 2, and then when the game went live I just never came back and reregistered on the new forums. There are a couple things people need to think about before claiming to be unbalanced or underpowered.
First, we are an unarmed profession, whereas everyone else has a weapon (and yes, VKs are a weapon but they are only an extension of the fist). This means we are going to be at a slight disadvantage in any fight (theoretically speaking). Are we? Yes and no. We can deal out a lot of damage and take a lot of damage without being hurt too much (PvE). In PvP any melee profession is going to have some difficulty because a Ranged attacker can run and shoot at you, whereas we cannot run and hit them at the same time.
Second, you should NEVER have ever been able to solo any of the high-end creatures in this game. That was one of the largest mistakes SOE ever made in game design. Now they are trying to find ways to make that a reality again, and people just cannot grasp the concept ofa group being REQUIRED to take down some things.
In PvP there will always be somebody better than you. If you want to try to take on a group you should die quickly. This is just the nature of combat in a game environment. The only profession that should have a chance at standing up to multiple enemies at once is Jedi (arguably commando as well, but that is a different topic). No matter what your profession, though, there will always be someone else who can beat you.
Please, take a step back and look at the professions a little closer. If you truly feel underpowered try a different profession or two. I don't use pistols much anymore unless I'm in a group taht has something tanking for me because I deal out damage a lot faster and hit a lot harder as a TKA. To me that is actually a problem, but since I love both professions I don't mind it being that way, but I would like to see a better balance.
TKMs are fine as they are... Fists cannot do anything BUT kinetic damage...
We hit reeeeaally fast and our weakness is one damage type... And that is only a factor when pvp'ing as most mobs don't have high kinetic resists.
If you really want another damage type, then don't ask for the devs to hand it to you on a silver platter... You can make it happen right now.. Get off your lazy butt and Master another profession to get the damage you want.. You have sooooooo many skill points left over, use them.
Oh and this is based on the movies.... Just like movies that are "based" on a true story.. ~~~pssst.. (whispering).. just because it is based on a true story doesn't mean it happened EXACTLY that way.. they take creative liberty..... Juuuuuust like they did here~~~~
Stop saying "well I read somewhere..." or "In the books".. or even "well in the movies.." It doesn't apply here... It was a basis for the game and that is it PERIOD. I am a huuuge Star Wars fan but I am getting tired of seeing the old "If it was in the movie/books then, by law, it should be coded here."

Smuggler - 4types (energy, kinetic, stun, heat)
That may be true, but Smugglers also get ZERO additions to Dodge, Aiming, Accuracy, Speed, Ranged Defense, Melee Defense, Stance Change Defense, State Defense, or anything else in the Smuggler tree. We get Ranged Mitigation 1, Melee Mitigation 1, and 4 (FOUR) pistol specials, two of which have been nerfed into uselessness. Without taking Pistoleer, you'd have to be suicidal or severely limited in brain power to go into PvP with a Smuggler only template. We have as much a chance to hit as a Marksman with Pistol 4, even though I am an Elite/Hybrid class.
Run in fear of the uber-leet Smuggler. Not that we were made for PvP, butI had a beefwith your above statement.
YOU ARE SERIOUS???? RIGHT???? U GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, TKAS OF ALL PEOPLE WANT TO BE STRONGER, MASTER PISTOLEER AND MASTER SMUGGLER CAN'T EVEN HOLD 1V1 AGAINST A TKA. YOU ALSO WANT OTHER TYPES OF DAMAAGE? THINK ABOUT IT, DOING ELECTRICITY DAMAGES WITH YOUR FISTS AND FEET? THAT IS OBSURD UNLESS YOU ARE HOLDING A POWER CORD!!!!!! GO HOME!!!!
Just wanted to say real quickly for those that said rifleman remain uber....
The only wrong thing with rifleman right now is that the DEVS have not changed the mind bar from being a specialty hit by them.
Once that has been taken care of the rifle profession will be just as good as any other. Our only strength I see in the profession right now is that I can mess up every ones mind bar and incap them quickly. Once the mind bar is healable the rifleman will have to make certain they have a close range attack because ANYONE will have time to run up and incap them. The rifle is no good at close range.... ![]()
