Ok I just did it again - literally staring at the screen while I did it, currently tabed out of the game, but still active...

I had 881 action, I opened with knockdown 1 - that took me to 801 action. So it cost 80 points that time.

That's more that 40 (yes I am einstein hehe) but certainly less than 200, and with my regen rate, perfectly reasonable.

Now, this leads us to another intersting issue... my numbers with VK's equipped and no styles were about 230-250 per hit. My numbers for unarmed hit 2 without VKs were about 400-430. Yes, granted if I style AND uses VKs of course I hit for more, but to me that was ALWAYS to much of a HAM cost so I never did that, and I've been doing just fine.

But the way, hehe I happened to run accross a solo giant baz nitch on dath today.. not sure why it was solo, it was just out in the middle of nowhere. Laid it out just as easy as any other day before today, only I used a few more styles than I normally would have -- those things con red to me.

Are you just reading what "action" goes down?

The figure I'd like is the "-xxx" number in yellow/cream over your head when you perform the unarmed hit. That is your Ham loss, a combination of Health, Action AND Mind. Not just Action.

I think your right, given that sliced vks can take your attack speed under 2 you still do more damage over a given period of time just slugging away with vks on than doing all the fancy specials without them. I should keep my mouth shut though because they might change the vk attack speed to something like 10 to address this.

Im getting the large hit myself.. 4 moves im dead period....

Selwynn, you can't just look at action in computation. Plus that # you got isnt the cost of KD for everyone. It is the cost of KD for a person with your exact stats. Keep in mind that Health gives you the total bar in your H of HAM, Constitution gives the regen of your health, Strength goes into calculations of how much Health is used when you use a special. These principles apply to the green and blue bars as well. I don't remember which goes with which sense I don't have the screen up here. But perhaps you have a high value which factors into the cost of your Action. Sorry if I am stating things you already know but maybe this will help clarify for others. Yeah class is over. Time to go home and get eaten!

I know this full well, and in fact that was my whole point. I'm sorry if some of you are killing yourselves in four shots, but it probably says more about some bad choices on your part, seeing as how it is not the story for everyone. KD doesn't cose 200-400 HAM acrooss the board -- its costs 200-400 HAM to silly people with 300 stamina/constitution... I have trouble feeling a lot of sympathy

And I forgot to mention, my numbers are no armor and no food buffs.

I wasn't trying to say that everyone's experience with KD woudl be the same. I was however, trying to point out that not everyone is going to have that problem and even if they do there are ways around it.

But you guys do whatever you want.

So from what you've been saying, these point differences account for a deduction from my 221 to your 80. Thats a difference of 141 total HAM.

Snide comments like this aren't helping me figure out what is exactly determining your decreased Ham costs from, or so it appears, every other Tka posting here.

What i ideally would like is another human, or someone with stamina and quickness ranges similar to those of Selwynns to post the ham effects of your knockdown vs a mob. Your /con to the mob does not matter.

Keep in mind, the only 3 attributes that will affect the ham cost are:

Strength (Health Drain Rate): Determines the "burn rate" for any actions that drain from the Health pool, like using a special melee attack. The stronger a character is, the less Health he or she loses when performing strenuous activity

Quickness (Action Drain Rate): Controls how rapidly a player' s actions drain the Action pool. A character with a high Quickness can perform more Action-related special moves or use Action-related abilities (like Burst Running) more often than a character with a low Quickness

Focus (Mind Drain Rate): Affects how greatly a character' s Mind-based actions reduce his or her Mind pool. Essentially, it' s a measure of a player's ability to concentrate when performing certain tasks. A character with a high Focus can accomplish more mental feats in a shorter period of time before becoming mentally fatigued

I do not need exp anymore and I enjoy fighting creatures with 10k health+ and now i can barely kill a tusken raider. The only reason for me to fight unarmed was for loot and now the best i can get is maybe a melon or a wooden staff.

TKA can contend with Jedi in the non-game star wars universe.

Tka get destroyed by novice pistoleers in SWG.

Selwynn stop being such a rebel. Stop trying to prove to hundreds of TK's that everything is all right. Think about it, if everyone is complaining something is not right. Do you really enjoy haveing to have you life on the line fighting weak things and having to fight millions of them because exp does come very slow this way? If you do got nothing against you. But I dont and thats why I complain.

Maybe you should go to a Commando board and tell them to deal with their millions of problems too. They are screwed even worse then we are. But according to people like you we are all ok and we should never try to improve lives but must deal with it. Thats a loser type of attitude and not needed. We are here to win not just live with problems.

Please dont tell me "its not about winning, its about trying your best"because trying your best isn't going to get you anything ever in life. Only winning counts. Thats why I do martial arts, I am not there to try my best, I am there to be the best and win.

Sel, that's nice that your action drops 80 points...but what about your healht AND your mind pools. Action is NOT the only thing that goes into the numbers people are reading here (we're talkin about that little number that goes above your head as you use the skill...its white because it uses all 3 pools, if it was just green then yes only action would be used , but that is not the case).

And I take a -188 to my pools in total, broken down to HealthActionMind(yes HAM). I lose about 50 health 40 action and a whopping 80 mind.

she's say ing just her actoin only cost, you saying your total ham cost.

50 credits says the little number that pops up over her head is over 200 too, as i'm a human with higher secondary stats than her and i'm getting 200 TOTAL HAM cost on kd1
