The Jedi Code might as well be the Code of Bushido.
The funny thing about ninja... They never existed in real life. Not the ninja of folklore.
Ninja were simply assassins, saboteurs and scouts. They didn't dress up in black pajamas, what better way to stand out than to dress in a costume? They dressed like a normal person did, or sometimes disguised themselves as enemy soldiers. They used guerilla tactics to fight and developed the art of Ninjutsu, which was only to help them live long enough to run away from a real warrior.
There were two kinds of ninja, the Iga and Koga ninja, who both lived in mountain villages. Much of ninja history is shrouded in mystery, since they were very secretive, and that is where their appeal lies. Stories arose about them which evolved into the modern perception of what a ninja is, but in reality their only real successes were as saboteurs and spies. As saboteurs they would sneak into an enemy castle at night and set fire to stuff, or steal the enemy's banner to demoralize troops, or harrass enemies to make them paranoid without doing real damage. As scouts they weren't exceptional, they would mostly just ride around on horses gathering information like any other scout.
Oddly enough, the main thing that people think of when they think of the ninja is assassination. Ninja were employed as assassins but they were terrible at it. In all of Japanese history, not one account of a successful assassination is given, though many miltiary and political leaders had attempted assassinations from ninja between the 14th and 17th centuries. They were failures though. A ninja assassination was about as glorious and mysterious as a jailbird stabbing another prisoner with a shiv, and less effective.

Ninja: History, Myth, Cinema
I don't see TKAs being like either the ninjas of modern folklore, or the historic ninja, except maybe in the way that their history is mysterious and that people tend to hold them in awe and fear (though TKAs have more justification for their reputation than ninja).
shaolin monks, ninja assasins its all semantics the point i'm trying to make is that this is where you should be looking to contextualize the idea of what a TKA is, the way *you* present it is as if the ninja were no more than a shallow band of hit and run merchants, something that Masaaki Hatsumi would probably disagree with you on, however the principles of kuji in or Qi Gong, whatever lay the groundwork for some intersting expansion of the profession.

When i first picked up the book and read about the star wars game and read about the TK profession, *immediately* i thought "Shaolin Monk" is what popped into my mind. Something like david carradine in "kung fu" (old tv series)...
Ninja would be a dirtier fighting assasins class...i would see including stuff like feining from smugglers....underhanded stuff...

Well I am an anime fan and I just hit tk novice yesterday and climbed 2 boxes in the Power Tech branch when I want to say that I love tk more than my ranged professions going from ranged to melee I love melee so much better. Now I think of the current state of TKM's as something like Rock Lee from Naruto, If you watch naruto fansubs you will get the meaning of that statement.

It seems just about everyone missed the message. I think the comparison is more or less this:A prepared samurai would usually kill a ninja due to being a superior swordsman. If a ninja gets the drop on a samurai, game over.
