Thread: What armor to use

I just made TKM today, and pretty much did everything on dathomir. I was finding that mutant baz nitches were the best things to fight. Almost as much xp as an enraged rancor, and they go down a lot quicker. Plus, you don't really need buffs to fight them, either. I used a speed sliced knuckler early on, then switched to a damage slice when appropriate (which I guess is what pretty much everyone does). TKM came rather quickly; I would hesitate to even call it a grind.

Totally forgot to mention that I progressed through tka wearing good ubese (73 or 75%). Kept a psg equipped (and re-equipped to get past the bugs that still seem to screw with psg's) to deal with the frequent energy blasts from random escaped slaves, but good ubese is excellent for creature hunting. I've never even owned any comp, but then I haven't done any PvP with this toon.

I just hit TKM tongiht. The last time I tried to do NS's or high end PvE, i was about 0/1/2/2 in TKA. Now that Im master, and have full suit of 80% kinetic, what type of @$$ kicking is at my finger tips? Oh, and im 2/0/0/0 in doc.

completely ditch armor for pve??
didnt think I would hear that.... what skill would you say ditch armor
by the way I am now tk 1242
also, at what point should I drop quenker missions and start working on like rancors and such on dathomir

i am a TKM and while hunting on Dath i usually wear my composite chest plate, bone legs and boots (useful when fired upon with the energy weapons of Nightsister Slaves) and chintin gloves (because i like how they look )

i know i could get away with less armor, but i like to fight Nightsister Rangers and Stalkers when ever i see the. they are weaker Nightsisters, but that does not make them weak. they still hit hard, force choke you, knock you down and bleed you. i have in the past even had to dawn my helm to keep my mind pool safe from a two-handed sword weilding Stalker.

personally i would not say NO armor, but you can get away with 75% + Ubese jacket, pants and helm, or some combination of really really light armor with a composite chest plate.

i can put my eniter 'hunting' outfit on completely unbuffed.

to answer your question i would say you can start hunting high end mobs like rancor at 4142. some would say sooner, but i am talking about being safe. like really safe and not worrying about dying at all. with meditation 4 and power 4 you have all the tools you need to go it solo with some rough customers

I used to wear armor but as Master Rifle/TKM I never wear armor anymore for PvE. It isn't necessary and I prefer getting the better regen on my mind over wearing any armor.

For PvE - Ubese with some good kinetic resistance (I'd say 70% is good)

For PvP - Composite, of course, with a stun layer added

When you get TKM or close to it, ditch the armor for PvE, buffs will be good enough. Armor is always important in PvP though, no matter what.

im a tkm and have been using everything but arms and gloves of 80% composite, took your advice and ditched armor, went to fort tusken unbuffed and did fine with out dying. thanks for the advice, will save me a forune in armor.

For now, just buy gloves, chestplate, helmet, and boots, as that is all you need for full protection.

Well i cant see the point of Ubese really, after buying some 76% kenetic Ubese, and getting it sliced.

My Composite has higher stats and lower HAM.

WHAT in the GALAXY!?!?!

friend you got ripped off with your Ubese purchase if your composite has lower HAM

look around. i have never bought a single suit of Ubese that i had to be buffed to wear. i could wear them HEAD to TOE unbuffed...with a kenetic resist around 75-80%
