I think your taking this just a little (wait not just a little but too far 1 billion xp come on that will take forever!)

it should be more 20 or 25 million Xp for 5 extra skill points followed by going up 5 million for every 5 points after that.

Something else to help safe guard it is it should be the xp from the profession that hte character is master in
Example TKA Master the xp must be unarmed and so on

They should fix profs before they add content, this is almost the same as CB before JtL: fix the broken things before adding new broken things.

This isn't a game like EQ where the whole game is about leveling. Maxing out your skills is just a small part. The devs need to (and do) focus on content that doesn't involve grinding XP.

xp cap and a timer ....

Why not simply add a tree above master level. Pre-req would be master of that level. Take whatever the skill point cost is to master that profession, subtract it from 250, and make sure that the new tree costs exactly that many SP to Master.


You want more power/abilities in your profession? Devote yourself to it completley.


Example:


TK takes 92 skill points to master. So, you Master Tk, you qualify for Grandmaster TK. Novice Grandmaster Tk (ok, contradiction in terms, but go with it..sort of like an ancielt bull rancor (baby)) Novice GTK requires something like141 skill points. Each box would require 1 skill point, as would Grandmaster TK. You have now devoted yourself entirley to the Teras Kasi profession, and reap the rewards within. Each tree would be millions of XP.


Im against anything that would grant extra skill points. You would soon, no matter how hard to obtain, have completley unbalanced characters in the game, ruining balance altogether (sort of like Jedi do now)

but seriously... unless they do it for a range profession there would be a big cry for nerfs. Although.... Perhaps what we need is a Melee version of Bounty Hunter to dabble in for extra specials and weapons.

Perhaps the devs could add more to Master Brawler.

One thing they could do is have a tree for powers similar in some respects to force powers, but not relying on the force. The general description ofTeras Kasi is that the powers come from within while a Jedi relies on the force. In the martial arts, Ki is the internal energy of the body that can be channeled by martial artists fora number of purposes. If they were to do an elite Teras Kasi, I wouldn't mind seeing a Ki tree. They could havea damage line (this could do damage no matter what kinetic resists exist), a movement line (run, combat movement speed), a meditate line, and an armor line (lookup marital arts termiron shirt and you'll see what I mean). Just a thought and suggestion.

I think it would be a good idea, but like everyone sais, it needs to be extremly difficult to accomplish. Nothing that can be done in one or two days, or even a week. I like the timer idea, that makes a little more sense because those people that play a certain prof for months, will have something to boast about.

But then again, you will have to do this with all the proffesions. And that just seems like a little too much for the devs to handle at the moment.
