We need advancement beyond master!
Who here hasn't felt the onset of boredom at somepoint after you reach master(please
don't say Jedi is the answer...I am a jedi...my template is complete and the game
is fast becoming boring and repetitive)

I propose a system that allows advancement beyond master by allowing players to buy
more skill points with experience, badges, and quests. Reward those who play!

For example, your a TKM and have been for months your getting BORED...it would be
nice for your continued play to be rewarding and we all know credits don't mean a
whole lot. So we change the xp caps to allow you to accumulate 5 million xp at
master. You can then exchange those 5 million xp for 5 skillpoints. The next level
after master you have to get 10 million xp and do a quest and you get 5 skillpoints.
The possible coinage for such a system could badges, xp, quests or any combination.

don't have to just add skill points they could add resists, damage, etc.

Please, SOE! part of any good game is the thrill of increasing power and skill.
Allow the player base to continue to advance or people will definately find other
games that will.

I know the first cry will be BALANCE, folks let me state for all or you who haven't
figured it out. BALANCE IS A SHAM, IT CAN NOT BE DONE AND SHOULD NOT BE A GOAL! The
reasons are varied. There is no reason a TKM with 2 days work should beat a TKM that
plays for months(the investment of time and effort should mean something). In fact,
in most cases they will not because the vetran player knows how to play BETTER! Yes,
people sometimes there is someone out there who is just plain BETTER...and its OK..
really relax you don't have to be uber from day 1.

It's not a bad idea to have more things to do after master, and it's beendiscussed before. However, it is not something specific for TKA right? Try presenting you idea in a more general place perhaps?

Thanks Zarqon,
I did, it is met for everyone even crafters. I posted it in multiple forums hoping it will get some traction. I used TKM as an example only...if could have just as easily been chef.

Im pretty much for this idea accept the fact that theres so many people out there who can master proffesions in under 2 or 3 days means that even if it cost 5 million xp to buy the skill points, people are still gunna be able to grind through it in like a week. I think that they should do your idea but make it so between buying the points, the person has to complete a task such as killing 20 graul maulers or something in that field (maybe even krayts if you really want it to be a challenge) so that people cant just rush through the tree. btw the counter from what guys you would have to kill would have to restart after you choose to go up that beyond master tree, so everyone will hafta start over and everyone will have an equal chance to advance at the same pace.

There are far more critical issues that need to be taken care of before they even consider adding on to an already well rounded prof.

Certainly this is something they should think of incorporating into the game. for all professions, and they have discussed it...way back they had the urban planner template that branced off of architect to help city making. But they scrapped it because it really wasnt necessary. I think they will follow up on Elite-elite professions though and we will have elite TKs and other profs.

I agree, there needs to be something to accomplish after mastering any profession.

Would be interesting to see this something quest - based though, the grind is boring, tedious, and awful. Perhaps on the lines of the Jedi trials/or a Themepark. I love this idea.

I believe the Dev's plate is already full, being that they're several publishes behind with an expansion coming out this fall.
Nice idea, but I don't think its on the same level of importance as JTLS, the Combat Balance, and the GCW revamp.

i dotn think this would change would help anythign, because youll still have the people who will grind the xp in a few days then those people would be far too powerful. nothin would really change. and i dont know about everone else but i dotn think 5 mil xp would take to long to get. i know i capped out at 900k in about day after mastering...
If a TKM of 3 days beats a TKM thats been one for months, probly mean the newer TKM knows more about PvP than the other.

NO no no it wouldn't take a week to get 5 mill XP at master TK. I can clear the Kunga Cave in 23 minutes gaining 250k XP Clear Mokk outpost thingy and get 300k XP in about 20 minutes max. and can do that a couple of times a day easy. That means I can get 2-3 milliion XP in 3-4 hours at master level. No the caps to buy more Skill points would have to start way higher than 5 million. I think 100 Million would be a good starting point and go up by a power of 10 every time Second time takes 1 billion then 10 billion 100 billion so on and so forth. That way the first 100 million takes a week or two but eventualy it becomes impossible to get more. Skill points are the only thing that kind of balances things out. So don't go giving more away easily at all.
