A TKA who has been master for a month already beats one who has been it for a week. All those new TKA just spam unarmed3 anyways...

I think it should be done but they shouldnt add skill points it should be a regular tree like other proffesions butit should require huge amount of exp like 100mill-10bill and also a quest system. they should add this to every combat profession. if you say 1bill is to extreme then dont go for the extra stuff. Like someone else said if you wana get better in a profession you should devote yourself completely to it.

Personally I think this would be one of the greatest ideas that they could add. People would stick with their professions longer and have something to work for. And more than that it sets people apart. Besides attachments there's no difference between ______ Master A and ______ Master B. This would benefit people that have played the professions for months then people that just pick it up would be below them instead of just like them. It would work with all the professions actually. Have every XXXk experience add a point to Unarmed Damage, Dodge, Armor Experimentation Etc. So we'd actually have things like legendary armor crafters and bounty hunters because their experience would pay off in more than just knowledge of the profession. Anyways I think i'd be a good idea to take this to the Core Systems boards and see what they think about it.

Trouble is, the current system is built like it is so that Master A and Master B are balanced... the classic MMORPG goal is a totally balanced system, and this would totally throw things off.
Personally, I've been a TK for a LONG time... like launch... and some have been since Beta... for myself and others, in other professions, it might be nice to have some kind of advancement, because heck... I love the profession. But at the same time, I just can't see how it would work.

"Trouble is, the current system is built like it is so that Master A and Master B are balanced..."
A more accurate statement would be, that is how the current system is intended.
With the combat revamp they hope to get closer to that balance.

I'm sorry... what is this "Combat Revamp" you speak of? You mean things aren't completely balanced? A whole year after launch and they aren't balanced? Whaaaa....?
Lol.

Great idea..
Ok i have an addition skill tree for bounty hunters..
Star Wars based ideas..
First Lineis Efficent Armor usage which decreases Encumbrance by given percentages..So that BH can use armor like in star wars series..
Second one isa defense based line which adds up state defenses and ranged, melee defense..So that BHs won't have to gain skills from other porfessions like Fencer or TKM..
Third Line is a damage add for any one or two handed ranged weapon..With New styles..
Fourth and last one is a Jetpack use skill..Which helps Bounty Hunters Flee from battle or catch their friendly neighbor jedis who are using force speed..This Jetpack should be used wisely while it shouldn't last for long..And it should have a 5 mins recharge timer or maybe 10 minutes..The more you improve in this line the faster you become and the more effiecent you use your jetpack..Simeltanously you should get defensive adds while using jetpack speedwise..Dodge maybe? And so this line should increase ones Dodge or Defensive stats..
Those are my ideas for BHs..So now we have BH and TKM ideas..Any more ideas for other professions? So we can get a list here?

This isn't a game like EQ where the whole game is about leveling. Maxing out your skills is just a small part. The devs need to (and do) focus on content that doesn't involve grinding XP.
AGREED.
The player chooses what proffessions his/her character shall have skills in.Then it's important that players themselves add fun to the game, and not just whine for more things to obtain. Even becoming a powerful jedishoudln't just be because one wants to see others beeing killed by one's character's skills.
I'd like to see more exciting things happen around all professions.Just an example : only jedi can have special images next to their name in forums lol
Jedi have got the FRS and other cewl stuff now. I mean, we need creative stuff for "normal" professions too! And I'm not talking about things like more skill points (making character more powerful). Ultimately this would maybe enable ppl to become more experts in their char's major profession. Looking forward to smuggler revamp.
If all one has done in this game is having mastered the "best" combat proffessions, gotten the best buffs/drink/food/ and armor and compared the char to other ppl's (who have done the same)chars in combat, then I understand they are getting bored aftera while.
For exampleadding just a little roleplarying and involvement with one's character might prove tobe what hardcore PvPers actually are seeking.

Asking for more things to master won't make a difference.
Looking around and adding content and meaning, creating scenes andstories by oneself more likely will. And devs adding their part by inviting to this sort of thing.

Sorry, I can't manage to be more specific today, the weather is so nice
Just my thoughts.

"You guys say there more in this mmorpg than just mastering professions but there really isnt."
I hate to say it but SWG was not made for people like you (the pure achiever). It was made for people who could master a profession in a month or two and then enjoy the rest of the game. I'm not exaggerating at all, that was one of the goals for this game since conception. You'll be much happier when EQ2 comes out.

You guys say there more in this mmorpg than just mastering professions but there really isnt. In this game quest are a joke all quest are easily beating. Money holds very little value when people are able to grind out over 20 mill credits in a week. PvP is a waste of time you dont get any real good benefits from it and with buffs/90% comp you can fight the same tka for over 5mins. i mean when i used to play daoc we could go beyond just our regular professin by pvping then using those points to buy new skills. Or in uo we used our pvp points to buy better weapons or faster mounts or lighter armor. Maybe if pvp wasnt such a joke or it wasnt so easy to master an elite profession this stuff wouldnt be needed.

If you can't be satisfied by content other than advancing your skills, you will never, ever be happy in SWG. You say I don't know you and yet you describe yourself exactly the way I know you are. You're not a bad player or anything, but you do fall under a fairly typical kind of player that doesn't get along very well with SWG. You're an achiever.
