Thread: Do other players underestimate TKM?

I find it pretty easy to beat fencers. If your having troubles which you shouldn't if you lay some intimidates down you can pop some citros snow cakes and you'll be able to hit anything... Then just lay down states and if you can try to get them on the ground.. Which you eventually will but if they're fencer which most melee people are it'll take you awhile. Using lunge + dizzy will work most of the time, eventually you'll actually kd someone but that rarely happens anymore. From there either use combo 1 or unarmed head hit 1 depending on the sitiuation. And the thing that aids me the most is deception.. I usually wear a fencer title and carry around a stun baton. Thinking this they'll usually equip their stun armor which isn't always up to 80% kinetic resist. Most of the tougher people out there have it sliced above so you'll just have to deal with that. But if people see you running around with your tkm tag up they'll forget their stun armor and stick with the ole 80% special effectiveness armor.

im sry but ive noticed it too half my guild have or are becoming tkms or tkas and its really annoying tbh cause i left fencer from the constant repition...luckily i will never leave this prof haha.....tho to be good yea u do need to mix it up quite a bit, and i took some advice from a tk friend of mine and made a macro withall the states and a couple intimidates, works great oneverybody even fencers, of course i only duel to no heals, no dots, no armor, and i think of it as straight skill, were underestimated yet overestimated at the same time...if that makes any sense haha, we have alot to work with...but were limited at the same time

People don't underestimate TKM, that's why there's so many running around. Teras Kasi is definitely a flavor of the month and will remain so. Think about it, there isn't another combat profession that lets you heal your own mind, all wounds, states, as well as buff yourself. The guy you were describing just sounded like an a$$ that was shooting off his mouth after beating up a bunch of n00bs on Tattoine (the planet where all n00bs start now).

You my friend, no nothing about this proffesion. Its people like you that are giving it a bad name, get your facts straight before you call tkm a FOTM.

Most players over estimate the attack power of a TK.

If I want to duel another player for fun I only get chalenges from fencers and other TKs. Most other classes have an irrational fear that we will one hit kill them.

The fact is that TKs are very balanced when it comes tolow - mid levelcombat, but when you factor in high kinetic armor a TK is better off running.

TKA in itself is only a good profession if you know how to use it right. sadly 90% of the tks out there do NOT know what they are doing. a lot of people have mixed feelings about the profession. most people that i see tend to underestimate it because of that estimated 90% of people that do not know what to do in a real pvp battle.

i can kill fencers and every other proff... but i've always played as TKA and always been fighting... duels, GCW etc etc. 2vs1 fights won but still you need to learn your proff. I dont use comp armor anymore i have stun comp in my backpack but never use it, only PSG, food and buffs(stim Es).

you have your **edit** together! 5 *

Sadly, Seph is very true on his post about 90% of TKA's not knowing what they're doing. I see people running across the theed starport area with people shooting rifles at them and they just kite away. And when they get into range they spam kd2 and go for unarmed hit 3. TKA is great for laying down states and controlling the posture of your opponent. Not so much for damage at the moment. But if you get them down for abit you'll see some damage. I usually do around 150-200 damage to rifleman or people without melee migration while they're kd'd. Which over time will stack up. I have doc which is great so you can clear that damned intimidate, the bane of all fighters. Also TKA is probably the best profession for fighting jedi 1 on 1 without actually being one. Nearly all the pvp on my server has some jedi involved.. It's sad but you have to adapt.. Usually I can get them down its just a matter of wearing out their force shield.. Hitting at the speed cap over and over again you'll get it eventually. Just keep them intimidated which is the key to all fights. Anyways read the TKA PvP guide by maestro it has some very good advice in it.

Lol, I know nothing of Teras Kasi huh? The next time you sign on, start counting the number of people who have a Teras Kasi related title up. The fact is that Teras Kasi IS a FOTM, and for all the wrong reasons. I don't like it either, but you can't say that everyone who is TK choose it because they wanted to be that. There are even hybrid professions that REQUIRE TK as a prerequisite. If, as you say TK isn't a FOTM, then why do I see riflemen, heavy swordsmen, combat medics, fencers, and nearly everyone meditating?

You flame me saying I know nothing?I give Teras Kasi a bad name? Then what do you call what you're doing?

what i find particularly amusing is when someone attains TKM and thinks they are now ultimatly powerful, then they get repeatedly handed their asses on a plate.
TKM when used in conjunction with all the other game mechanics that make you a *good* in combat is very powerful it is *this* that is underestimated, the reason why people think TKM's are nothing to rave about is because new people like to be TKA's because its the poor mans Jedi but then dont dont know how to fight with a TKM.

TKM's are not overpowered if you lose against one you yourself are weak and unskilled as a player, that is the only discussion you should be having with yourself when you reach for your hold your nerf water rifle over your head.

if you lose against a skilled TKM thats just tough as we will pretty much hand everyone their ass.

its about the way you play and the techniques you use if you can't work it out, dont blame the devs for your incompetance in playing the game.

P.S.: BTW, I think your site is a MUST for all MTKAs; I'm registered and check it often.

I was fighting a rebel fencer with armor and buffed.

I was unbuffed and no armor

I did fine till (yes you guessed it) a rebel CM showed up.
