Thread: Do other players underestimate TKM?

Hello,
I´m a Master TK/swordsman/Brawler with fencer 3-4-4-0 and I visited Mos Eisley earlier today on my way to Jabbas palace.
My TKM title was in full use when a player runs out of the cantina and challenges everyone bragging he hadn´t lost a duel all day long.
I examined the guy and saw Master Marksman and Master Scout, and realized that he was a BH wannabe.
I used to a BH myself and know that the defences suck even at master.
We both were buffed but I didn´t use my armor.
They guy say that he´ll duel me for money and won´t use any special attack for 50 seconds?
The duel began and I dizzied and knocked him down and used UH3 and he was incapped in 10 seconds.
My question is if players think that a TKM can´t hurt them? Fine with a good comp or Ubese the fight can be tough, but do they really belive that we suckso bad that we can´t defeat a low level BH?
I love TKM and won´t drop it for anything.... hmmm unless I become Jedi that is...

um.....i think that guy probably just wanted attention or was justed really........really........bored
In my opinion, i get the feeling that everyone believes TK'sand Fencers are overpowered......either that....or there are alot of "weak" combat professions needing fixing

TKM is still something to be feared, if you can use it right. But the thing is, you really shouldn't be running around Cnet or Theed (which are hangouts for Imperials/Rebels alike) alone. You can handle one person, but you probably won't be able to handle three or four of them. I can take out some Defense Stackers alone, but once their group cathes up with me, I just hope that my group shows up soon or I can Burst Run away

Teras Kasi are dead against almost anyone who knows what they're doing. We've got enough accuracy to hit Fencers every once in a while, but that doesn't save us from their stun damage. Swordsmen actually may have a tough time with us. Pikemen can use looted DoT weapons until we cry. Pistoleers, Carbineers, and Riflemen can kite. Other than that, I'd say we're decent, but we're definitely not top of the heap PvP-wise.

Contrary to your belief, a TKM can actually kill a Fencer. Stun Composite and a PSG reduce their damage right off. Just use Unarmed Stun and Intimidate 1 or 2, and they'll do next to no damage. If you really want to find out, then get a suit of Stun Comp and a PSG, then go fight a Fencer as a TKM. You might lose every once in a while, but it's a whole lot of fun when you kill them

Actually, in my experience people have tended to overestimate me than underestimate.

what i find particularly amusing is when someone attains TKM and thinks they are now ultimatly powerful, then they get repeatedly handed their asses on a plate.
TKM when used in conjunction with all the other game mechanics that make you a *good* in combat is very powerful it is *this* that is underestimated, the reason why people think TKM's are nothing to rave about is because new people like to be TKA's because its the poor mans Jedi but then dont dont know how to fight with a TKM.
TKM's are not overpowered if you lose against one you yourself are weak and unskilled as a player, that is the only discussion you should be having with yourself when you reach for your hold your nerf water rifle over your head.
if you lose against a skilled TKM thats just tough as we will pretty much hand everyone their ass.
its about the way you play and the techniques you use if you can't work it out, dont blame the devs for your incompetance in playing the game.

People don't underestimate TKM, that's why there's so many running around. Teras Kasi is definitely a flavor of the month and will remain so. Think about it, there isn't another combat profession that lets you heal your own mind, all wounds, states, as well as buff yourself. The guy you were describing just sounded like an a$$ that was shooting off his mouth after beating up a bunch of n00bs on Tattoine (the planet where all n00bs start now).

Anyways, I don't know of a TKM being able to heal ANY state, except for Poison/Disease. Only way that I know of a TKM healing mind is either through Meditation, or using FOW and getting lucky enough to completely restore your HAM. PB isn't exactly a buff, but it does help out a bit when combined with your other buffs. People think that TKM's own because of the Unarmed Knockdown 2 which does a Dizzy/Knockdown in one move; but in today's world of defense stacking, you have a minute chance to Dizzy/KD that person, just try and land the Dizzy, then start alternating between Lunge 1 and Unarmed Knockdown (1 or 2).

I wouldnt agree , as ive being all melee classes and when i pvped i used swordman more , but tkm bigest weakness is dizzy u dizzy a tkm and they wont get up for a bit now if you have swordman you can do alot of damage if you are speed capped on there mind , but i would say alot do underesitamate us as they think they will be ok with there 90% kentic armour , and also alot of tkm just spam kd2 and uh3 all the time

Yeah, we can use PSG's and stuff, but so can they. The only reason we can win is because we're at such a disadvantage that we're forced to be smart to win. A smart fencer would switch to a vibroblade or gaffi if he notices his stun damage is taking a hit from PSG's or something.
