TK is bad ass!!

im not one but i just pvped a guy in a cantina. He beat the crap out of me in like 10 seconds.

i only had a chance to hit him with health shot 1 and something else, i cant remeber what it was because i was too busy being blindand intimidated and dizzyand not hitting anything.

Carazy!

My hat off to all TK.

Your pets will whine and cringe, licking at my unshod feet just before they DB me and still I will laugh! Why?! They are naked and do not wield a butterknife or carry a stick! Only a fool does not fully follow the true path of the Fencer! Long live nudity, sticks and butterknives!!!

Glad you feel good about yourself, but a BH will still Eyeshot you and laugh at your melee / medic skills. Bye now,

most people are complaining that they can't spam KD anymore.

How much damage can deal EyeShot from a master BH?

"So take a mob that hits you for 160-250. Intimidate him and he drops to 40-70. Blind him and sometimes he won't hit you at all. Stun him and his damage will drop to around 20-40. Bear in mind these numbers are from a Master Brawler/Master TKA, so your numbers may be higher but the percentages should be pretty close."

I can absolutely confirm this is 100% true. It's kind of funny because I was in game today and tonight was the first time I really understood this, and it was so profound that I had been commenting about it in game - now I see this post on the boards.

The benefits of intimidate2 + stun are so singificant that I've been really struggling with whether or not to drop master brawler and go into the doctor line for the buffs. Probably either one would do pretty well, but tonight I literally watched the damage I would take drop from about 150 to about 37 (for some reason the number 37 came up a lot hehe, but between 20-40) after intimidate2 and stun. Blind didn't seem to do much on the kind of mob I was fighting.

I cannot stress enough how effective this is. I'm still disappointed in KD changes - more than that I'm very disappointed that skills like dizzy have been rendered pretty much useless (as soon as something that is dizy falls down on a posture change - it gets immediately back up, dizzy wears off and it starts figthing again.. so it does nothing). But this combination is something I have really under-appreciated for far too long.

TKA has the good and the bad. And yes there is more bad more than there was. I would like to point out however that stupidfly was incorrect on his TKA startegy. Intimidate2 is a master brawler skill and not a teras kasi granted skill.

TKA is not by anymeans dead. Its just not the lone gunman profession that bounty hunter or gunfighter is. You either need a secondary profession or a friend with a supportive class to be as lethal a force as the other professions.

I didn't quit TKA because of the nerf. Yeah it made it harder to fight, but if some lamer caught you tagged you don't get spam killed in 5 seconds now. I quit for character reasons, and I do indeed still have some TKA skills. The knockdown, hit2, stun, blind macro is extremely lethal for a quick fight or if in a group and you need to take an opponent down quickly at the cost of your health.

Are gunfighters more powerful? Yes. I'm currently in the process of having all int TKA with all int gunfighter. And if pistol 4 with a scout blaster is any indication then I'm guessing I'll be rather lethal with DX2.

I'm not really sure what to tell people that are upset with the TKA class as it is. My advice is if the nerfs make you that upset then switch to something easier. I applaud those who can achieve TKA master after this nerf, is requires the time and patience I lack. I have a friend with his adv box's done and he says it works great for him he is continuing to master. The guys that are going forward and and getting that TKM title will be well deserving of that title and the power it holds.

Oh and by the way ...

"Hmm. Is it just me or does that sound one-sided? If the ranged players had us in range we would be "a little weak." In melee range however, melee would be "brutally lethal?" Be realistic."

Yeah, I'm pretty much the WRONG person to be asking to be more "realistic." I think you'll find I'm a lot more middle of the road in my posts than a lot of people here. I've posted a significant number of posts defending TK over and over again, so let's just remember that.

Aside from the fact that my comment is taken wildly out of context, the point I am tring to make is that I believe TK's disadvantages (and I believe we are at a disadvantage at range, which I feel is appropriate and the way it should be) should be balanced out by equal advantages in melee (and I believe we currently do not enjoy many if any real advantages in melee over anyone else right now.) I was deliberately exaggerating to illustrate a point which I guess didn't get through. It's ok that we are at a disadvantage at range - a lot of people complain about that a lot, but I am not one of them. However that disadvantage should be advantage in melee. The odds sure be in the ranged guys' favor at range. But the odds should be in MY FAVOR in melee against a ranged person, and I really don't think there is anything particularly unrealistic about that.

Heh, I really can't believe you picked my name as an example of the people who need to accept that TK is good and be more realistic. That's pretty much all I've been saying for my five hundred... however many posts I have.. sheesh.

1) Everything is Comparitive: Why do people complain that they can't kill white cons/red cons? Because every other profession CAN. If it was even ground, guess what, no one would be complaining. Are TKA's complaining that they can't solo Krayte dragons? No, because no other profession can. Read between the lines.

2) Damage is King: I can chain UAhit3 for 2000 damage(Advanced core+High power motor). But guess what? I can chain AE ranged shots for 4000 with my rifleman. Related to the first point.

Please nerf TKA's! I just one hit incap'd myself again with knockdown!

Since I've reached my 1st goal (Master smuggler), I have still many points to play with what I want. When I leveled Unarmed for smuggler I had a lot of fun (without VK, it wasn't produced back then). So now I try TKA, I'm on the way for novice and I must say thanks for your post Stupidfly

The description of those skills (intimidate, stun.. blind is easier to guess) tell you nothing at all. After reading your post, I tried it and wow. Thanks again.

Stupidfly, if I wanted to post something more useless, I would have copy/pasted your original message that I am sure you struggled over writing out.

Now feel free to pick up your pom-poms and go one hooraying yourself.

But please, explain to me again what the ingame descriptions on moves tell me about the Brawler profession already.

I know I wouldn't be as good as you will be cause I only have novice TKA so far. Stoped a while ago to work on Master Brawler. Still working on it. I just had a feeling to try it out. I want to go smugling instead of master medic. Feign Death could come in quite handy in a tight situation. I wonder if that works in PvP? Interesting...

This post however proves 1 thing. That people should sit down and do some thinking. I only haveone main gripe on the whole unarmed thing and one on the whole melle fighter issue.Since the last patch unarmed can't use vibros till novice TKA. That's pretty much like saying:

"Use a CDEF weapon till your Elete Profession, or a knife, or wooden staff... Etc etc etc..."

My issue with melee fighting has become a bit null since this post cause marksmen get 3 free rounds on a creature before they even turn to attack but with the intimidate doing what it does (Never bothered to use it much) It kinda ballances out.

As opposed to saying "here novice marksman, take this T21, Dx2, and Elite Carbine and start playing with those im mediately."

I loathe the fact that only Teras Kasi Novice can use VKs ... (b/c I'm not quite there yet), but I see the logic behind it. The brawler tree is "unarmed." Unarmed means no weapons. Teras Kasi Novice says nothing about being unarmed, you just need to know unarmed skills in order to start down the path.

Did anyone else notice that Teras Kasi Novice gets Unarmed Damage + 40 in addition to being able to use a VK? The damage skyrockets as soon as you reach TKN!
