If we could get the great smuggler correspondent to post on the dev forum about it ? ( Not sure if you are able to do this Caylin, but it would be great ) Wouldn't want to end up as the Riflemens do we ?!

I aim to please, there is now a thread asking about not only Teras Kasi but Riflemen correspondent positions.

As you know, correspondents are hopefully going to go to a summit in Austin, I'd like to see correspondents selected soon enough in those positions so we could have you all represented properly when the time comes for that event.

Just an FYI...There are a lot of Correspondents who care about TKAs...so even during the time you are without a Correspondent, you are not un-represented (as demonstrated by Caylin)...

We got your backs...

That is great to hear! Thanks Garvin and Caylin!

Come on guys let's hear from some of the others who might be interested i the position of Correspondent. I agree that it's best if we have a few choices. I'm not sure how we can settle on an election anyone have any ideas on that?

Oh and big ups to all of us for keeping this forum positive even with no direction from our Correspondent. Let's try to keep that positive energy flowing.

I'd be interested in the position. I've been around since launch, been a TKon and off the entire time (grinded it 4 times now),and am not going anywhere. I've seen the multiple KD nerfs, ham cost reductions, the VK cert patch, a variety of other things that have changed gameplay for teras kasi. I think I understand not only the teras kasi profession but the core systems at work behind all combat as I am an avid PVPer and I engage in PVE quite frequently. I understand the strengths and weaknesses of our professions, our needs, problems (poor damage penetration in PVP) and I think I could be an excellent correspondant. My name may seem unfamiliar to some of you forum veterans as I am mostly a lurker, but I think I could contribute a lot to the teras kasi profession and represent its need accurately, objectively, and ardently to the development staff.

Well I guess 3 other correspondents posting in here makes it the thread Ill go ahead and post my rough draft of my app email. Ill be in this game for a long time to come, and no worries of me not being near the boards. I work on a computer all day and I check these boards more often then any other place on the internet....anyway here it is...

I have been playing Starwars Galaxies since Beta 3.I am a Software Engineer and therefore I know the development cycle that many programmers use. I understand how software of this magnitude must go through a process of development and that the program must work within the constraints of its architecture. If it can't be done, it can't be done.

When I first created my character, on day 2 , I planned to be a Pistoleer/Weaponsmith Earlier this year I decided to follow the path of TKA and have not looked back. I love being a TKM and will keep those skills no matter where my other 158 skill points.I view the SWG Forumsdaily and keep track of all professions that interest me.I try to help those I can, and I try to be a part of the entire SWG community. The Teras Kasi board is filled with people who have very finite views of where they see the Teras Kasi profession going.I have my own views of where I would like to see Teras Kasi profession, but I would count it my duty to collect all reasonable requests and ideas and present them in an organized manner to the developers.I would not give my opinions any more weight then any others, and would not even mention them unless they were presented to the community first, and looked upon favorably.

I'm proud that TK is one of the most unbroken professions in SWG, but we have many issues that the developers should acknowledge. The correspondent should be fundamentally involved in the upcoming combat balance to make sure that TK is well represented and that our needs are addressed. Some professions have been let down by their correspondents. I vow that I would continue to be a part of this community and that I would represent the Teras Kasi profession in the best way that I know how and that is by listening, commenting, information gathering, processing, and representing.

I would be proud to be the Teras Kasi correspondent and if someone else should be chosen I will still support this profession as I have since I first hit a durny with my bare fist. (well not bare I had ubese gloves on)

Well, if we are going to use this thread as an Official Application Thread, then here is mine:

I have been in the game since the middle of BETA 2. Through BETA I played with quite a few professions, trying to get a feel for what I wanted to do in Live, as well as trying to help test various aspects of each profession.

At launch I chose to pursue Bounty Hunter. For the first couple months I ignored the forums (evident by my late registration on them, heh) and focused on mastering Bounty Hunter. Before I mastered, however, I decided to try out Smuggler again (since the prerequisites had changed since BETA). I went back and forth a couple times until I finally decided to Master Bounty Hunter.

Unhappy with the state of the Bounty Hunter Profession, I chose to go back to Smuggler. At this time I decided to work on Teras Kasi as well, and have never dropped it since. For a while I was a "Triple Master," and have since gone on to Master Swordsman with TK, and now dropped part of Swordsman to have some Ranger as well.

I will not be leaving Galaxies for a while. I founded a Guild on the Chilastra Server, and made a commitment to those who chose to join the Guild. While I may get bored with the game from time to time, I still have fun when I play as well, and that means I'll be here for quite some time to come. (Besides, my subscription just renewed, so I'm here for at least another six months )

I have tried to ensure that when I post it is at least constructive, as I have been known to be rather negative toward the Developement Team a couple of times. I finally stepped away from the boards for a while, and upon returning I have been much more quiet. If someone else responds to a thread I decide not to respond most of the time, as I would only be echoing their post.

I attempt to be objective and logical in every post I make, and my desire to see our profession be everything that it can be is, most definitely, unequivocal.

I would be honored to serve as the Teras Kasi Correspondant, and no matter who is chosen I will still be here to help.

Whoever the new correspondent will be, all the luck to you bro. I have some ideas for this person whoever it may be.

1. Tell them to nerf armor nothing else. Don't let them nerf TK speed, damage, accuracy, toughness,or state-specials. Less work for them, more fun for us.

2. No changes to HAM bars-I like spamming my specials, TK's are fast, and we spam-hehe.

3. No changes to Doc buffs. If we are to survive with nerfed armor we need buffs.

4. Do not let them nerf defense stacking. This is for the good of the game, so that everybody is not the same. And so that we can express some creativity in our template. Plus TK has poor defense as it is, with stacking at least TKM's stand a chance.

5. Don't let them nerf damage mitigation. We need it.

6. I know that a lot of people may be mad at this, but oh well. Regarding the new damage type. I would gladly give it up since they are nerfing armor now. We can give this up so that we can keep the above changes that I mentioned.

So to sum it all up, if the above happens. Devs don't really have that much work to do for us. Say no to the combat nerf!

I think this is a fantastic idea. Frankly Ryutek/Jseth and OnlyMaestro/Griffin were the names that came to my mind. How about if we finalize the list of candidates and then have a vote by the weekend? We want to move carefully, but decisively. I agree with the prior comments; now it is NOT the time to be absent from the developers' minds.

Peace.

I would think we should give more time for people to put their names in the hat, as well as a long time for this voting process.

If your going to do it, do it right. And if people are going to vote, be sure to check into the backgrounds of those who are in the running. We dont need another DrArgule.

Yeah, I was thinking we should have the candidates wrapped up sooner than later as well. People who check here often--as it should be--will see the thread. Those who don't check here often probably shouldn't be correspondents anyway. I think by the weekend might be a little fast but...anyone want to list the names we have so far and we can make a running candidate list at least?

Do any noncandidates have questions for these people?

I have one question: Who amongst you (or anyone else here, for that matter)has a character on Test Server? Preferably a TK, but any character there tells me something about you.

The reason I ask this question is that for the most part, those on Test Server are used to looking at new features critically, with an eye for balance, and they are perhaps more used to working with CSRs and Devs (I've never seen, met, or spoken with a Dev or CSR in-game). I also think someone here who plays a TK on Test Server is already showing a great deal of dedication.

I don't have any character on Test Server, though I've been thinking about it (but it wouldn't be a TK--I'm certainly not that dedicated). But it would certainly sway my opinion greatly to know who does--thanks! I'm not trying to make any qualification or judgment--as noted, I don't have a character there--but if you do have a character there, then I know that you're more dedicated maybe than some others.

I have a character on Test Center. He is currently a Smuggler, as I was anticipating the Smuggler Revamp, and have not worked him to TK as of yet.

Oh, and the character on TC is also J'seth.
