I just wanted to update with the response I got on my trouble ticket in-game. The CSR told me basically, he didn't know whether it was a bug or an intended effect, and that I should watch this forum for more info. Soooo helpful.
It just boggles my mind that one person can't say "Hey, I didn't know that would happen!" or "Yup, I meant to do that."

Trust me, the bug/intended issue is the first thing I asked... twice. I'll let you know as soon as I do (and can actually spill the details). But right now I know about as much as you do.

I thought I was crazy, but I guess it's everyone!
Did anyone else notice their Clothing AssemblySkill Mod? I think mine used to be 160ish, and now it's 100 plus tapes. That could be the problem if they maxed the Assembly Skill. ![]()

I maxed out my assembly skill a couple of months ago using skill tapes. It's been 100 at Master for as long as I can remember, mine goes upto 131 now, shame those last 6 points don't work.
It's got nothing to do with the assembly skill, mine is the same as a week ago and like everyone else I'm getting much lower numbers of sockets.

Not going to restock until it's fixed personally... I *won't* make 10 items of each just hoping to get one with 4 sockets, knowing that 50% of customers or more only want 4 sockets.

/agree... with something taking less than 1000 resources most of the time nobody will mind asking us to make one until we get 4 sockets.

The problem will be that most people won't pay for the failures, so that 1000 resource item may end up actually taking 10000 resources. I am glad that I mine a lot and hoard resources!

My policy is to charge half for failures when people have requested 4 sockets. That's always been my policy and I tell people up front about it. It wasn't an issue in the past.
Of course, now it will be once I explain that this could easily multiplethe total cost by 5 ![]()

I know this thread has been going for a day or two, but I am so angry I just have to add my bit here.
I can't get 4 sockets either. I made 9 sunguards and only 1 had 4 sockets. That's 2 factory made synth cloths per sunguard, which makes for a huge waste of resources, not to mention time when you consider we now have to make more factory items to make up for the ones that get wasted on clothing that comes out with less than 4 sockets.
I am a Master Tailor, have a 40.1 machine and 12.12 tools, and 3 vendors that need to be stocked up with 4 socketed clothing because my customers expect that level of quality from me because I never sell anything with less than 4 sockets.
Why oh why did the devs have to go and "fix" something that didn't need fixing?! As someone mentioned before on this thread, why couldn't they fix the bugged jewellery graphics, or put in some decent bloody missions and quest items that are worth the effort, or balance the combat professions properly, or basically do ANYTHING that actually NEEDS fixing instead of buggering up something that was fine as it was!!!
*wipes brow*
There, I feel a bit better now.

/agree with the above - this is NOT normal. I often look at the sockets available because I have several customers who insist on 4 sockets with their orders.
I noticed right away after the patch that something was amiss when my averaqe was 2 sockets. I am useing a +14 crafting tool and a +45 crafting station. I am a Master Tailor and Artisan 4/4/4/4
And I agree, I really do not want experimentation in clothes at this time - what purpose would it serve?
I too will be holding off on crafting any of the looted schematics or even bio clothes until I see this addressed. Just to be fair to my customers.

OK, now I'm past being angry at the condition itself, and into being angry at the Devs for not giving us an answer. This is freaking ridiculous.

What really shocked me last night when making clothing was how many times I was getting 1(!) socket in clothing. Holy cow!
