Sorry guys, It's my fault. Everytime I get a new profession it gets screwed up. I hit master this week and that's why you arent getting any 4's. So if you think that any professions need nerfed just let me know which ones and I will do em.

*hugs* LoL I'm sure its not your fault.

I don't want to only stock black dusters either, but doing short factory runs of the popular items/colours sold, with the now-elusive 4 sockets, might be worth it.

I was planning on doing just 50 of the items I sell the most to begin with, just to see if it is a good idea.

Hmmm... the thing is that - is this actually happening, or are we noticing it because we're paying attention? Unfortunately we have no "before and after" shots...

I'd like to get a little more data (anecdotes and whatnot) before I start crying foul.

This is definitely happening to me too. I came here specifically to find a post about it because I was noticing it so badly.

Before the last publish, about 70% would come out with 4 sockets, the rest split between 2 and 3. Once or twice I got 1 socket.

Today, 20% with four sockets, Pretty evenly split between zero and 3 with the rest. Essentially looks random from 0 - 4 with my relatively small test run.

My situation did not change. I am master artisan / master tailor. +15 tool, +25 station, +5 assembly, +5 experimentation, +16 artisan experimentation. Similar results using both artisan and tailor schematics. I was restocking my vendor, so I made a lot of items from all over the available schematics.

I was restocking last night & could not believe my luck. Obviously it did not have to do with luck

Thank you for bringing this to the devs attention n'Jessi.

What if this isn't a bug? What if this is 'working as intended', or a glimmer of things to come...

Say, experimentation comes back fully, and will impact how many sockets we can have...It will be interesting to see...

I've got a bad feeling this is a stealth nerf and they're not going to respond to us and hope the furor just dies down. It always did seem too easy to make 4-socketed items, and I just have a sneaking suspicion that this is actually a 'fix' to oversocketing. But I guess we'll find out. I'm certainly going to change my pricing scheme until there is a definite, verified change back to the old way.

I think that it probably *is* a fix. Now sockets are more in line with what armorsmiths get. The problem is that they can make factory runs of almost everything and we really can't. I would almost be afraid of complaining too loud about this in case they decide to throw in colorization kits for people to use so that we can do factory runs too.... I would quit tailoring if that ever happened.

Heheh, all I know is if this 'wasn't' an accident, there's going to be some rampaging tailors gone postal on this forum.

And I will be one of them.

Greetings;

I just want to add my two cents in as well. I noticed this evening while attempting to make aload of bio-engineered clothing for my vendor - I consistantly held an average of 2 sockets per item, only a rare time was I able to gain 4 sockets. I'm a master tailor, master artisan, using 15% tools, and a 44% clothing and armor crafting station, with the tailor's apron (no further experimentation tapes, I, well, never thought they'd be used! )

This is something new, at least for me - I pride myself on having quality items, sometimes even deleting those that have 3 or less sockets, especially for custom orders and bio-engineered clothing. Considering I have never had to delete too many items before, this is a noticable change for me.

I sincerely hope some information can be given soon. I sent in a report this evening, maybe something will besaid ... (or am I justbeing too optimistic?)

That may be the point. It's possible they never intended for everyone to have 6 items of clothing with 4 sockets each, maybe they want to limit the sockets and the number of tapes each person can wear. But by this time, people have grown to expect it. Just like experimentation, it'll be incredibly painful to us if they intend to 'fix' it now.

For all practical matters is doesn't matter. Skilltapes don't stack and no one can fill all the sockets in their clothes anyway unless they are one of the very richest people on the server. The problem is that 4 sockets has become synonymous with master tailor quality. I don't know how many times I have been told that I must be a good tailor just because I was making clothing with 4 sockets. Now the percieved quality of my clothing is much less and it has nothing to do with my ability as a tailor. If this is something that is going to stay and is intentional they need to state it very clearly in the patch notes for everyone to see that this is an actual change in the way the game works and was decided by the developers and it is not because I am a substandard tailor.

Agreed.

But as long masters has a ok chance to make 4 sockets i´ll live. But you are right about SOE should speak up about this issue.

Its the randomness that is annoying me. I stand next to my crafting station and make an item that has no sockets. I out outside, away from it and I make an item that has 4. There appears to be no rhyme or reason to it!
