Sony will start letting people charge RL money for things..... oh, wait...

BTW, to those who keep mentioning items such as sashes and such that they have won and have on display, I fail to see how wear decay affects these items. I must be missing something.

ANY news on the wearablity of items that are "destroyed" or 0/0 , 1/1 , 0/1000.. or a variation there of??

I wanted to test so freakin badly and get to hang out with 'jess and everyone but of all times, NOW my computer decides it wants a bigger powersupply or it will continue to just shutdown. <== how rude!

Simple outfit... Wrapped skirt, Muscle Shirt,Casual Jacket, Twi'lek Headwrap, and all the jewelry items, belts, gloves, footwear, bandoliers.

I stand infront of a Rill outside Mos Espa, attack it, and watch the combat channel. I then open up theinventory and watch as each hit location takes damage and note the amount of condition lost on each item. Pants don't, but skirts do lose condition. Also... robes, jackets, vests, body suits, hats will all lose condition, as long as that hit location takes damage. I was wearing no armour. I was master tailor, master BE, meaning I had a CL of 17. The Rill was doing 40 damage per hit. I was regenerating faster than it could hurt me. Over a period of 10 minutes, HEAD, JACKET, and SKIRT locations took damage.

I have tested with 6 others, and each concurs that those items all lose condition, and anything else is invincible.

When testing on a difficult creature, like a level 80 vs a level 80, the clothing is destroyed before the combat is over.

And for Zahrina's question.... Clothing can be worn at 0/xxxx, -200/800, 0/0, 0/1 or any other combination of "disabled"... they show red in inventory (unless equipped) and will show in a "disabled" section when you clone, to indicate which items have been destroyed and should not be able to be used... but they are usable.

When disabled, they can be equipped, and all mods from tapes and BE enhancement still provide their bonuses.

OK. I need to find out why I couldn't make any clothing decay by combat. Sounds like time to make up a stylish outfit and go fight some rancors!

Ok, I'm not going to be an armorsmith much longer (thank you CURB!) and I thought I might try out tailor because of the wearables factories and such. So I figured I'd take a peek at your forum and I found this thread.

Now, my AS toon probably buys 5 or less clothing items a month but that was is partly because I can craft a lot of my own stuff. I play a 100% combat toon on another server though. That toon buys, bare minimum, 2 full outfits a week. I literally have 100s of clothing items. I'm considering buying another house just to be a giant walk-in closet. I'm not a big fan of combat decay on clothing but I understand and can accept it. But if wear decay were to be implemented I would simply put my armor on and never take it off. The last thing I need is to have to run around looking for a new pair of khaki colored comfortable pants because I sliced 20 weapons while wearing them or whatever. Just thought I'd give one customer's perspective. (There may be lots of people who'd be A.O.K. with it.)

I do want experimentation implemented back into Tailoring.

I do want our skills to dictate how well clothing is made. {colors, sockets, decay rate}

Sure I have TONS of junk resource myself thatI am accustomed to stocking and useing,

but I still pay going rates even when I do not need stats.

If we MUST experiment for condition,I would like DR and OQ...

and perhaps it could be two lines,OQ for condition, DR for decay rate.

Tailoring is fun and leisurly without stats yes,

but it is my income source, my chosen profession,

so with or without exp, I am a Tailor.

/applaud. Very well said. Same here!

I believe all crafting professions need to use good resources, and that includes tailor.

I do believe in tailor experimentation.

Sockets should be experimentable.

So armorsmiths are becoming tailors? Interesting.

I am thinking about switching to BE ...

Nah, I'm just dabbling and after peeking through the forum I doubt I'll switch over. Most armorsmiths are either sticking it out or canceling.

Thanks for the hearty laugh!! waaaahhhh waaaaahhhhh - Please smack me if I ever sound like this guys. I must apologize for any past regressions to 11yrs old.

If clothing is wearable at "red" (that's the 0 condition) Does it really matter when or how it decays? Unless that's been fixed. Wouldn't that be another hail storm. I can see the posts from everyone now.. how could you make my xxxxx useless without warning me. So what if it was "disabled" I still had tapes in it.

let me add to this (didn't see this before i hit up the bug thread):

I bought 2 clothing items from an unnamed BE correspondent on Bria like 3 weeks ago. Worn them only a few hours of game play including maybe 8 PvE fights (maybe) post CU.

Wookiee Shoulder Pad: Cond 990/1000
Sigiled Waist Wrap: 0/1000

Only other clothing item I was wearing was a JTL bandoleer and that's still at 100/100

So it does seem theres some issues with hit zones and decay, beyond the issue of the INSANE decay rate.

Hello everybody I play a tailor on infinity and wish to weigh in on this subject.

I enjoy tailor but there are some thing about it that bug me. First, I think that quality of materials should be considered somehow in crafting. However, I think that OQ, Malleability, and Decay Res should be considered. I don't want to have to experiment for sockets, it should be no accident that a tailor designs a clothing item with something like that in mind. I don't like the idea of experimenting for condition either, or having clothing decayover time or due to combat, I think it's enough that it gets damaged by death.. As it is now there are very few players I know of that wear clothing in combat, most wear armor almost all the time. I think it would hurt the tailoring profession if clothing items are more easily damaged or destroyed by combat or normal wear over time, as they will just opt to wear the armor and spare themselves the trouble and expense of clothing.

Another change I would like to see is the use of raw materials in crafting clothing. It makes no sense to me that so many of the footwear items don't use shoe soles. Even armor boots should require some kind of sole. It makes no sense to me that so many of the items use raw hide for their construction either. It makes much more sense to me that hides should be converted into panels of Hide-cloth for creation, and that virtually no raw materials get used in creating the clothing item itself. Preserve the special hide requrements by makingeach kind of hide-cloth from each kind of hide, I.E. leather cloth, scaley cloth, wooly cloth, etc. Noting the exception of wookie clothing here though, since wookies generally wear more primitive looking clothing styles, its more acceptable to use raw materials to make those items.

I think also that it makes more sense to me to move shoe soles and perhaps some of the other clothing components to artisan and get the clothing items out of the artisan tree, and up into tailoring.
